Earl, There are many publications and Ham cram classes. If you have no background in radio you may find the Tech class given by local radio clubs your best bet. While a lot of memorization is involved in actually passing the tests it’s more important to understand concepts to be a competent operator and instructors can answer your questions. That being said I suggest you purchase the ARRL (American Radio Relay League) book for Tech level license as a starter. Matt
