R.I.P. Rush Limbaugh: A Conservative Giant Passes the Torch

Rest in peace, Rush Limbaugh, a titan of conservative broadcasting and an incredibly influential voice in conservative politics.  Our condolences and prayers for him, his family, and close friends.  He fought hard, and to his credit, he hung in there and kept right on broadcasting as long as humanly possible while he dealt with cancer.

R.I.P. Rush Limbaugh: A Conservative Giant Passes the Torch

It was most gratifying to watch Rush receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Trump and the First Lady at last year’s State of the Union Address.  And the best part was the sour-lemon looks on the faces of the usual suspects in the audience.

I remember listening to “El Rushbo” waaaaaaay back in the day, in Sacramento, CA, on local talk radio while visiting family there, long before he went big nationally.  He was both entertaining and sharp in his political analysis, and, above all, he was unflinching in his biting, but much deserved, ridicule of some of the most absurd elements of the radical leftist SJW agenda.  Rush brilliantly welded the leftist Alinsky tactic of ridicule to sound the alarm very early on regarding the anti-freedom, anti-human, anti-science, anti-common sense beliefs and goals of the Marxists/globalists in America.

He was a trend setter and a pioneer of political talk radio, which gave conservatives and libertarians a much needed alternative to the left-leaning monopoly of the major broadcasting companies in the pre-internet days, and then a sorely needed conservative television alternative when he launched his own TV show.

I didn’t always agree with Rush (who agrees 100% with anyone?), and I often wished he was much harder on the RINO’s in the GOP, but he was a staunch supporter of President Trump, and, more importantly, he was an unflinching bulldog in support of the patriotic wave of ordinary Americans who rose up in defiance of the globalist/socialist agenda that is destroying our nation.   This is clear from his last live broadcasts, on February 2, 2021, when discussing the absurd second attempt to impeach President Trump:

He represents an uprising of the people of this country against Washington, against the establishment, and it had been building for a long time. It had been building since Perot in 1992. Oh, yeah, it predated Trump. The Tea Party was part of this. Trump was just the first guy to come along and actually weaponize it, in a political sense.

But the Trump movement existed before there was Trump, and then he built it and grew it to the point of 75, 74 million voters. But stop and think. These Democrats going, and the FBI, CIA, all these conspirators — MI5, MI6 in the U.K.; the intelligentsia from Oxford and Cambridge in the U.K. — they had a free run. They could make up anything they wanted about Donald Trump.

So, four years of this, folks, and they remain scared to death of the guy. They are very much aware of his popularity. They’re very much aware that he beat them back.

So, they’re doing everything they can.

It’s the same cabal now.

It’s the same kind of people, same bunch of people with the same mind-set who are now on this second impeachment and doing what they can to maneuver and manipulate public opinion against Trump because they are scared to death of a public reemergence. They’re trying to destroy whatever credibility he has remaining

They don’t have the votes to convict him. So he’s gonna be acquitted. But that’s not why they’re doing this. They’re not doing this to actually convict him. They’re doing this to continue the smear. They’re running the show.

They determine all of the rules, and they’re looking at this as an opportunity. Look, their first impeachment was a joke, and they still went through with it. They had no idea how that boomeranged on ’em. They think they won that. They think they won with Adam Schiff and his committee and all this garbage on the phone call to Ukraine.

They’re looking at this as an opportunity to shape public opinion even more against Trump. They have an opportunity here to continue to impugn, to criticize, to make up whatever they want about the guy. They’ve got the mainstream media in their back pocket to amplify whatever they say. So this is just an ongoing effort — and, by the way, there’s another thing here besides that.

It’s all about sending messages to anybody that might be thinking of doing what Trump did. “Don’t try it! Don’t think that you can get away with it! We’ll treat you just like we’re treating Trump.” There’s all kinds of reasons for them doing this, and the fact that they’re not gonna get a conviction is way down on the list. No, they’re doing this to continue the smear.

Rush got it.   He knew that the real targets of all these continuing smear attacks on Trump are We the People, that great mass of 80 million plus patriotic Americans who STILL stand in the way of their plans to destroy our Republic.   As the popular meme put it:

R.I.P. Rush Limbaugh: A Conservative Giant Passes the Torch

That has always been the case.  And we aren’t going anywhere.  And neither is Trump.

Rest in peace Rush.  The torch has been passed.  We will do our utmost.
