  1. I took my first oath to honor and defend our republic as an ROTC cadet at Gonzaga University. When I had broken my elbow after two years of reserve (unpaid) service I was not fit for duty. I was drafted a bit later in Seattle and took the oath once again at the induction center. I was excused for duty when my arm x-ray was reviewed and they confirmed the radial head of my right elbow joint had been removed at surgery performed by an Air Force surgeon at Fairchild air force base in Spokane, WA.
Yet, I have been serving as a patriot from my childhood.
God bless America and may our constitutional republic ever find those who will defend her.
