Wild Lettuce – Natural Pain Killer

Wild Lettuce is also Known as Opium Lettuce. For a good reason. While it doesn’t contain any opiates, it has similar side effects when used – it acts directly on the central nervous system (CNS) to lessen the feeling of pain, just like morphine.

If the SHTF and there are not any pharmacies open, or hospitals have run out of medicines, what can you do for relieve pain? One answer is wild lettuce. It grows wild in North America and Europe, and is considered to be a pesky weed, but it has pain relieving properties that can benefit you and your family.

Unlike opium, it is not addictive.

Knowledge of wild lettuce’s pain killing properties has been in existence for centuries. Knowledge of wild plants, and their medicinal uses will be very important in SHTF scenarios.

As with all wild medicinals, make sure you can correctly identify them. Also, be aware of possible allergic reactions from them, as with anything taken internally. Wild lettuce, for instance, contains latex, which some are allergic to.
