If you asked our young people what July 4means, how many would know? Would they say it was a day for a barbecue? How many of them have ever read the Declaration of Independence? How many understand what the signers of that Declaration were putting on the line?

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. — Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.

He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their Public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected, whereby the Legislative Powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.

He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.

He has obstructed the Administration of Justice by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary Powers.

He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.

He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.

He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil Power.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:

For quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:

For protecting them, by a mock Trial from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:

For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefit of Trial by Jury:

For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences:

For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies

For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:

For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.

He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.

He has plundered our seas, ravaged our coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.

He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation, and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & Perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.

He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our British brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.

We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these united Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States, that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. — And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.

Let those words sink in. They were pledging everything to the cause of independence. How many would make the same pledge today?

Independence Day is a time for both celebration and reflection. It is a time to celebrate our independence, to reflect on what those brave men and women suffered to gain our independence, and to consider what we, as Americans, as the inheritors of the freedoms gained in that revolution, can do, and will do, to preserve the liberties many fought and died for.

Today, free speech is limited by political correctness.

Today, the Constitution is called, by some, a document written by “old white men” and is outdated.

The past is vilified.

Today, our Independence Day is thought by many to be just a holiday. To me, it is more than that. This country, our country, was created by the Founding Fathers, as a radical experiment in self-governance. In a time of Kings and Queens ruling over their subjects, it was a very radical idea to consider that We The People could govern ourselves.

It was a very radical idea that said We The People, have Inalienable Rights that are derived not from government, but from Our Creator, meaning they come from God and exist as our birthright. It was a very radical idea that proposed that just governments exist only with the consent of the governed.

Today there are those who want to abolish the United States of America, in favor of a World Government. To them I say, no. Our sovereignty is not for sale. Our freedom is not for sale. Our Inalienable Rights are not for sale. I do not consent to their Utopia, for it is an abomination. It is a return to the serfdom that our Founding Fathers rejected. It is a denial of everything America stands for.

  1. If we were to talley them up, the long train of abuses are more comprehensive than what they were during the Colonial era. Perhaps We the People need to draft our own Declaration of Restoration in each State of our former Union. If enough signatures were obtained, perhaps at the very least, it would place the seditious, treasonous class of politicians and globalist billionaires on lawful notice that our intent is to restore our Constitutional Republic as intended by the Founders of our great nation, and that we will never relinquish our fight in resisting tyranny Who will initiate this endeavor??

A lucid documentation and presentation of the long train of abuses by our current federal and state employees since 1914 would send cause a massive restructuring of the out of control police state, administrative state, lawfare state, welfare state, nanny state, international corporatism state and globalist state.

      1. Not to be a pushy salesman, but how do we draft such a declaration most effectively? I have felt compelled to do this for several years. To be effective, we would need several million signatures from every State in our Union. I believe now is the time, particularly with elections at hand. We are in a communist style revolution at present. We need leaders with the courage to lead like our Forefathers of old. Who will stand?

    Tyranny never sleeps. It lurks waiting for the complacent to let down their guard. I the past couple of decades our rights have been diminished by a voracious federal government. Below is an excerpt from a July 4th 2013 article from Judge Andrew Nepolitaon “Jefferson is Weeping”

    “The government the Framers gave us was not one that had the power and ability to decide how much freedom each of us should have, but rather one in which we individually and then collectively decided how much power the government should have. That, of course, is also recognized in the Declaration, wherein Jefferson wrote that the government derives its powers from the consent of the governed.
    To what governmental powers may the governed morally consent in a free society? We can consent to the powers necessary to protect us from force and fraud, and to the means of revenue to pay for a government to exercise those powers. But no one can consent to the diminution of anyone else’s natural rights, because, as Jefferson wrote and the Congress enacted, they are inalienable.

    Just as I cannot morally consent to give the government the power to take your freedom of speech or travel or privacy, you cannot consent to give the government the power to take mine.     The powers of evil have been unleashed amungst us. I believe that we have past the point of no return. Too many of our fellow countryment rely upon the largess of the Federal government for their subsistance. The Looters take from the producers to give to the moochers in return for their vote. A reconing is coming!

    Our national debt is beyond repayment. We are living on a promise that cannot be kept (Full Faith and Credit of the United States). We stand atop a house of cards with a foundation fo shifting sand.

    I am a forth generation Military Officer. My family knows the cost of freedom.

  6. While Google banner is nothing but crap about some oddity food from various parts of the republic. No mention of Independence and its historic significance. Never does Google promote educating their base users across the planet a hint of US history in truth.

  7. It really is important to note that the culture of freedom that the 13 colonies had, did not develop because of the abuses of Great Britain, which did finally result in the final refusal to put up with any more.
    Rather, this culture of self-dependence, finding our own way to survive and developing our own legislative methods developed from the LACK of support from the Crown. We were basically left on our on, having to come up with our own techniques to survive and prosper. We did indeed prosper and as a culture found methods that were about freedom as individuals rather than as citizens under the control of the monarchy. Pretty unusual for such a thing to occur, but with hindsight, a rather reasonable outcome given the circumstances.

    I happen to be fluent in Spanish and read a book written by an author from Monterrey, Mexico.
    This book is coming from a Mexican, not the US viewpoint, on slightly later events between New Spain and then Mexico after rebelling from Spain.
    I was somewhat surprised at what high praise is given to the culture of the 13 colonies and what the culture in Mexico developed from HAVING the support of the Spanish Crown.
    Our culture and the Mexican (and further South) cultures have very distinct qualities due to just that one single, powerful difference.

    As far as revolution, right now we stand in a position to change one person at a time. Education is rarely effective as a tool to change many minds. But I have seen in my own life, when I can educate one person, that person can then teach another, then another, then another. This process of one on one education can finally snowball into a set of real changes and understanding.

    We won our freedom with a violent revolution against Great Britain.
    Gandhi won India’s freedom from Great Britain without violence.

    Right now, we just have to find a way that will work today. Let’s start with educating those who haven’t got a clue.
    If you can’t find someone needing education within arm’s reach, move closer to other people.

  9. It was a stupid idea to turn the USA into a global marketplace for everyone else’s goods. The giveaway of the us space station by Bill Clinton and the signing of The GATT(Global Anti Tariff treaty) was the worst decision made by the Deep State. They make pretend to be suffering politically from it but I think it’s a ruse. Donald Trump merely window-dresses the issues. We need to retake the Congress or your children won’t survive. China gets an average of 1.2 billion US Dollars PER DAY in the current economic situation. The current balance of trade is -824 Billion US. That’s over 2 billion US dollars shipped overseas that never comes back. Watch Youtube videos and you’ll realise EVERY country did this even the ex-Soviet Union. They all import goods from China and sell them locally. China has become the Superpower Russia never was, thank our leaders for that. China is a COMMUNIST PARTY country run by warlords who were defeated by the Japanese and now work entirely together as the Communist party. With 1.2 billion underemployed, and a world with little to no borders their diaspora will ensure the domination by their Communist (warlord) party. This is why we must protect and defend our Nationality. The current World(media) leadership wants to destroy all Nationalities and our Nuclear umbrellas. This economic warfare must be turned back to the reserve bank system that created it. All US debt must be legally transferred to the Bank system that created it, away from the US Treasury. We must never accept having our country turned into a marketplace for everyone else’s goods.

    1. Vast amounts of USA dollars are also shipped out of the USA by illegals and other foreigners working legally within the USA. Amounts vary since data is not precise. A Web search reveals the fearsome figures of large sums of currency sent outside the USA. Economics is complicated for folks such as I but the outflow of dollars hurts the lower socioeconomic classes while the upper-crust never suffer.

    Tyrannical elites with access to wealth and the power it gives and monolithic corporations have replaced the royalty of old. The ability to influence masses of people using modern technology was unimaginable only a few decades ago.

    The military power requiring a relatively small number of operatives makes even a small country of today even more capable than the mightiest countries a few decades ago.

    So many changes happening so quickly. Changes good and bad. I dread how it appear the Western world is under attack by what many folks label the Globalists. A New World Order is being promulgated that sends hordes of barbarians flooding Western countries. Why don’t the Globalists send their armies of lackey barbarians into Asian countries such as China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, etc? Is it because those people would do anything required to repel those hordes and, perhaps, even hunt down those tyrannical evil Globalists and remove them?

    Another fear is the general Political Correctness permeating USA society. This societal aspect is defined in numerous ways. You decide which aspects of PC repels you most.

    Today I watched the local small July 4th parade and with large USA flag upon my 8-foot-long wooden staff I cheered the marchers as they walked by. No just sitting and idly watching for me. It is a joyful day!!! Shouting encouragement and appreciation I interacted with bystanders and the parade marchers. Wearing my military veteran attire most folks responded back with smiles and returned shouts of various types of a positive variety. Except one sullen group who eyed me with trepidation… as if I was going to denounce them, ridicule them or something. Heck no!!! It is our birthday!!! I did not shout out encouragement as I did the Boy Scouts or high school band or police and fire department. I DID smile and wave, however. Being civil and social. Still… some of those folks… mostly female… glanced at me and showed body language I interpret as fear. I am guessing that group is from the Politically Correct cohort… the group of whom some have physically attacked Trump supporters in the past and rioted in cities causing destruction and attacking folks they disagree with. The group I saw today were locals, not the mobs imported from afar to create mayhem. There remain SOME similarities among most PC folks and I believe I saw it today. Not one of them returned the big smile or wave. Oh well… that’s their loss. Make of this event what you will.

    Elites want to divide and conquer We, the People and I see Americans divided in a way not seen since the Civil War. What does the future hold for us? On a larger scale what about all the Western world that is under attack by tyrants?

    Should patriots concentrate on the Globalists with their self-serving New World Order scam/scheme or is there another threat more worrisome than that one?

    Patriots need a Think Tank to start analyzing threats and concocting solutions. Get the best and brightest minds working fo us. Tyrants have a multitude of associations and organizations even university systems working at their behest to assist their evil lusts.

    Sure did enjoy the parade!!!

    I quoted those two lines from the Declaration as just two examples listed in it that apply equally today. The dangers of invasion from without (we ARE being invaded today by hordes of unwelcome, undocumented scum) and convulsions within (our society is in the midst of terrible social convulsions, caused in many instances by the invading scum). As for taxes without our consent, nothing needs to be added to such an obvious situation as we face today.
    It is not just the radical fascist/communist/socialist/progressive unAmerican people we face with the threat of conflict today. Our own government has become far more tyrannical against we the people than King George ever was against the colonists of that time. These are dark times indeed.
