U.S. Parents Coalition Launches Petition to End Federal Education Department

The Federal Government has no business involving itself in the education of our children. Since the Department of Education was established, the quality of schools has diminished, and they have become nothing more than indoctrination centers.

Parents have the primary responsibility to educate their children, whether by sending them to locally controlled public schools, sending them to private schools, or by homeschooling. The choice is for the parents to make.

I support abolishing the US Department of Education. – Shorty Dawkins

A national coalition of United States parents and state leaders focused on returning education policy back to parents and local communities has launched a petition to end the federal department of education.

“The Federal Department of Education should be abolished because it is costly and ineffective, it is unjust and unethical, it is too political, and it is unconstitutional,” begins the petition at “We, the undersigners, call upon President Donald Trump to keep his campaign promise to close the Federal Department of Education and end all Common Core aligned standards and testing.”

The petition was launched May 11 by United States Parents Involved in Education (USPIE), a nationwide coalition of parents and leaders who say they are “fed up with being ignored on education policy” and have now “joined forces to abolish the US Education Department and put an end to all federal education mandates.”

  1. I agree with abolishing the Dept of Ed. But they have a list of things that must be done to abolish it, but they are wrong. Since it is unconstitutional it is “Null and Void” from its onset. All that has to be done to abolish it is to declare it so. Since the federal government was NEVER delegated any authority over the education of children, it was an unLawful act from its conception, as is many other departments.

The other thing to consider is that there was never any permission from the people to use their money for that purpose.

This is the enumerated powers which list the objects on which Congress may appropriate funds:
    — Immigration Office found in Art. I, §8, cl.4
    — Mint found in Art. I, §8, cl. 5
    — Attorney General found in Art. I, §8, cl. 6
    — Post Offices and Postal Roads found in Art. I, §8, cl. 7
    — Patent and Copyright Office found in Art. I, §8, cl. 8
    — Federal Courts found in Art. I, §8, cl. 9
    — Military found in Art. I, §8, cls. 11-16
    — the Civil List found in Art. I, §6, cl.1
    — and other objects listed in various other articles, sections, and clauses such as costs related to making treaties, etc.

That means that every federal dollar spent on Education was Mispronunciation of Funds.

  2. If you really want to make a difference I wold suggest that you go to the W.H. petition board and sign now. The signatures are few and far between, and time is running out. I know there are more than a couple of thousand parents and grand parents that care. What is holding your back? Fear? They have had our numbers for years.
