Death Panel Medicine–A Tale of Two Babies: Royal Baby vs. Alfie Evans

Patriot Nurse has a rant about the disparity between how we view the babies of the rich and famous, (in this case the British Royal Baby), and little Alfie Evans, who died recently. The British courts refused to allow Alfie’s parents to take Alfie out of the country for treatment. Really!!!! If the Royal Baby had been similarly ill, would the British courts have denied the Royal Family the opportunity to seek outside help? You know the answer to that question.

  1. Two related and noteworthy quotes:

    1) “When the people find that they can vote themselves money that will herald the end of the republic.” ― Benjamin Franklin;

    2) “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.” — Margaret Thatcher

    As the single, stay-at-home parent/caregiver of an adult child with both autism and epilepsy, I occasionally dispute with others who so eagerly want this or that Waiver for their child. In fact, just yesterday I got chided in an online group about offering my opinion about how it wasn’t the government’s job to care for our children.

    As long as the people are getting the money for what they want, without having to really give up their lifestyle to a great degree and otherwise cooperating with the medical establishment and the bureaucracy, taking other peoples’ money is perfectly acceptable.
