Trump Anti-Gun Nominee to Ninth Circuit Driving Away Core Supporters

Trump Anti-Gun Nominee to Ninth Circuit Driving Away Core Supporters
Really? I’m not even sure we have one in Fairfax.

“Democrats praise Trump nominee for 9th Circuit,” The Washington Times reported Wednesday. “Republicans raise critical questions on his gun rights, Citizens United views.”

“Republicans brought the tough questions for Mark Jeremy Bennett over his defense of gun control laws and free speech rights,” the report elaborates. “Mr. Bennett, a former Hawaii attorney general now nominated to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, had backed a limited interpretation of Second Amendment rights that was overturned by the Supreme Court.”

Just being a highly-placed Hawaiian political nominee ought to raise red flags. The state is a “leader” in citizen disarmament. If they ever do have another real catastrophe there, most citizens are going to find out how badly those who have been defrauding them of their birthrights have screwed them.

Add to that the fact that the Ninth Circuit, widely recognized as one of the most “progressive” (read “anti-gun”) courts, recently lost the one sane voice it had on the Second Amendment with the #MeToo-pressured resignation of Judge Alex Kozinski.

Trump, who started out with a troubling record on guns, “rehabilitated” his public stand enough to win NRA’s endorsement. In recent months, however, he has revealed himself to be all about infringements (often with a green light from NRA). His so-called “bump stock” ban in reality dictates unprecedented non-negotiable terms of surrender from the executive branch. If Trump and AG Jeff Sessions can get away with this naked usurpation, guess what the Democrats will be able to pull, especially if enough feckless Republicans take the fire out of their core supporter’s bellies and majorities flip.

And that’s what the president is doing by ignoring the concerns of his core constituency of gun owners who put him in power and expect him to take the oath he swore seriously. We’ve seen the disaster Republican presidential appointments of bad judges has caused in the past, and especially with the anti-gun feeding frenzy we see today, now is no time to put a squish on the federal bench.

It’s fair to ask why those who have been defending the president from so many self-inflicted situations he now finds himself in should care if Robert Mueller and “the Swamp” prevail.  A President Mike Pence could do no worse and possibly would do a lot better, especially considering his record on guns.

The president needs all the friends he can get right now. He needs to be reminded of that. Assuming there’s not some other agenda at play here.

    1. Did you know President Trump signed a Work for Welfare order yesterday? A single appointment to the 9th circuit is not going to change a damned thing there.

Did you miss that as of December, Trump broke ALL previous records appointing more Appellate justices than any other president? AND EVERY ONE A VERY YOUNG CONSERVATIVE! Why do you think Democrats & the MSM have been crying rivers over those appointments?

You better start getting behind this president because he is ALL which stands between us and utter, complete Marxist rule in this country. Stop looking for any minute thing to belly ache about and get behind him.
No one man is every going to make everybody happy 100% of the time. But I will tell you, we will never, EVER find another willing to take on just about everybody to save this country..
Any concessions he has made (damned few) has been done with the blessings of the NRA… that SHOULD mean something to you.

Just keep trying to eat your own and see how that turns out.

      1. I could not agree with you more. I’ve been attempting to convey the same message for months now, yet everybody’s so amped up anticipating nothing but the worst of the worst. The worst of the worst (Obama) is behind us now. Trump is so much smarter than the career politicians he’s been manipulating from day one, it’s almost becoming funny. From the Omnibus (not a budget) to just about every other position he’s taken has been 100% right on target, good for America. The current problem is that most people are so used to being screwed over by the government and many of them are simply just to ignorant to even perceive what is actually going on.

For once in your lives, try to have some confidence in the leader you elected. I honestly could not imagine a better one!

      2. A single appointment might not change the court’s character, as the court is presently constituted.

But over time, as many judges are replaced, the balance can begin to shift. That can only happen, though, if you appoint judges who respect individual rights and the Constitution. So yes, a single appointment certainly does matter in the long run.

      3. I vote, to honor those who have given their lives and limbs to keep our country free. I don’t dishonor them by not voting. In Nov 2016 was Trump the best candidate for conservatives? Yes. Did I know then that he was not truly conservative? Yes.
When Nov 2020 rolls around if he is still the best candidate for me, I will choose him again.
In the meantime, I will not be silent when he shows his ignorance of the Constitution, his ignorance of his base, or reverses his positions on the issues that we elected him to change. When he screws up, he needs to hear it.

      4. The only thing “standing between us and the utter, complete Marxist rule of this country” is not Trump. It is the armed American patriot.

      5. I like what you wrote.

To this day, looking back at all the candidates for the GOP nomination, I’ve asked this question: What would do?

The answer is pretty much the same: Ii would be worse.

Right now, is there anyone better than Donald Trump?

  1. And today is Never Forget…never forget the millions who perished at the hand of tyrants who disarmed the citizen. We must never forget the Holocaust so that the millions who suffered during that time in history did not die or suffer in vain.

There are many parallels on the horizon. Some of us may have a more personal reason to not forget. Now nor ever is any time to sleep.

  2. You know what bugs me about all this? Read that article again. David, what part of contracts do you not understand? The US Constitution is the supreme CONTRACT for all who serve within our governments – state and federal.

They ONLY have delegated powers/authority that is found in writing within the Constitution of the united States of America. So it is NOT a “law”, nor is it any type of legislation that can actually be used against the American people, not LAWFULLY. So if it is implemented, if it is enforced, what are the actions of those that created it, implemented it, and of the enforcers called? *TERRORISM. There is nothing lawful about it, as not only were there NO delegated authority, but it is made clear within the Bill of Rights in writing that they have NO AUTHORITY over the people and weapons, what type, how many, etc. It is just Terrorism, treason, and a host of other crimes on the enforcers, etc concerning this.

So why say “…Trump, who started out with a troubling record on guns, “rehabilitated” his public stand enough to win NRA’s endorsement. In recent months, however, he has revealed himself to be all about infringements (often with a green light from NRA)” as if it would be Lawful just because some treasonous scum who serves within any – and maybe every – of our government commits crimes against the American people, against our nation, against our legitimate government, etc as if it is a real law (like we have a King/Dictator)?

What happens when anyone breaks a contract that they not only agreed to in order to occupy the position they are in, but made that contract stronger LAWFULLY by an Oath? Dr. Vieira said it very well here…

“This has nothing to do with personalities or subjective ideas. It’s a matter of what the Constitution provides…

The government of the United States has never violated anyone’s constitutional rights…
The government of the United States will never violate anyone constitutional rights, because it cannot violate anyone’s constitutional rights. The reason for that is: The government of the United States is that set of actions by public officials that are consistent with the Constitution. Outside of its constitutional powers, the government of the United States has no legitimacy. It has no authority; and, it really even has no existence. It is what lawyers call a legal fiction.

… the famous case Norton v. Shelby County… The Court (and our founders also) said: “An unconstitutional act is not a law; it confers no rights; it imposes no duties. It is, in legal contemplation, as inoperative as though it had never been passed.”

Preamble to the Bill of Rights: “Congress OF THE United States begun and held at the City of New York, on Wednesday the Fourth of March, one thousand seven hundred and eighty nine.
THE Conventions of a number of the States having at the time of their adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added: And as extending the ground of public confidence in the Government, will best insure the beneficent ends of its institution.”

James Madison, Federalist 45: “The powers delegated by the proposed constitution of the federal government, ARE FEW AND DEFINED. Those which are to remain in the state governments, ARE NUMEROUS AND INDEFINITE. The former (federal government) will be exercised principally on external objects, a war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will, for the most part, be connected. The powers reserved to the several states will extend to all the objects, which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people; and the internal order, improvement and prosperity of the state.”

Gov. Samuel Johnston, North Carolina Ratifying Convention of the U.S. Constitution (1788): “When Congress makes a law in virtue of their constitutional authority, it will be an actual law. I do not know a more expressive or a better way of representing the idea by words. Every law consistent with the Constitution will have been made in pursuance of the powers granted by it. Every usurpation or law repugnant to it cannot have been made in pursuance of its powers. The latter will be nugatory and void.”

Archibald Maclaine, North Carolina’s ratifying convention: “If Congress should make a law beyond the powers and the spirit of the Constitution, should we not say to Congress, ‘You have no authority to make this law. There are limits beyond which you cannot go. You cannot exceed the power prescribed by the Constitution. You are amenable to us for your conduct. This act is unconstitutional. We will disregard it, and punish you for the attempt.’”

James Wilson: “I leave it to every gentleman to say whether the enumerated powers are not as accurately and MINUTELY DEFINED, as can be well done on the same subject, in the same language…nor does it, in any degree, go beyond the particular enumeration; for, when it is said that Congress shall have power to make all laws which shall be necessary and proper, those words are LIMITED AND DEFINED by the following, “for carrying into execution the foregoing powers”, it is saying no more than that the powers we have already particularly given (enumerated), shall be effectually carried into execution.”

Hamilton himself explained at New York’s ratifying convention that while on the one hand “acts of the United States … will be absolutely obligatory as to all the proper objects and powers of the general government,” at the same time “the laws of Congress are restricted to a certain sphere, and when they depart from this sphere, they are no longer supreme or binding.” In Federalist 33, Hamilton noted that the clause “expressly confines this supremacy to laws made pursuant to the Constitution.”

North Carolina’s ratifying convention, James Iredell told the delegates that when “Congress passes a law consistent with the Constitution, it is to be binding on the people. If Congress, under pretense of executing one power, should, in fact, usurp another, they will violate the Constitution.”

Mark Twain: “For in a Republic, who is “the country?” Is it the Government which is for the moment in the saddle? Why, the Government is merely a servant – merely a temporary servant; it cannot be its prerogative to determine what is right and what is wrong, and decide who is a patriot and who isn’t. Its function is to obey orders, not originate them.”

“The Constitution of the United States is a law for rulers and people, equally in war and peace, and covers with the shield of its protection all classes of men, at all times, and under all circumstances. No doctrine involving more pernicious consequences was ever invented by the wit of man than that any of its provisions can be suspended during any of the great exigencies of government. Such a doctrine leads directly to anarchy or despotism.” The Supreme Court of the United States, 1866

  3. URGENT To David Codrea – Are you aware that people are now being forced to SIGN IN TO THEIR GOOGLE ACCOUNT before being allowed to proceed to your blog page??? http://www.waronguns.com I have never hd this happen before. I normally use Firefox but also tried on Win Explorer and MS Edge. Is this the next line of censorship? Although I value your views highly I will not sign in to Google to read them. FIGHT THESE BASTARDS !!!!!!!

    1. As of 13 April, at 1221, Google says that only individuals who have been invited to participate in the blog can do so. So it is not even a matter of :”signing in” on a Google account.

    2. Thursday two readers reported a pop up warning when they tried to access it, so to be safe I set the blog to private to keep things contained until I can figure out what’s what, if anything– my friend is a pro and he has found no malicious code:

      His analysis:
“I have found nothing wrong in the site’s HTML. Normally when a site has been poisoned there’s an obvious javascript exploit injected into the code, and I’ve found nothing of the sort. If you only got a few complaints, it may well be that the virus is on other people’s computers and has nothing to do with your blog. Something else: that same numbered widget (but without the [1] in the URL) is part of blogger’s standard set of widgets, so I doubt it’s really harmful. It could just be a false alarm.”

I’ll add that I have been unable to duplicate a warning when accessing the site from other devices, and out of all WoG visitors only two have reported a pop-up. With that as backdrop, I’m turning the site back on for public view with the caveat that I couldn’t guarantee my life on everything being safe — I don’t suppose anyone can. So proceed at your own risk, YMMV, and if you experience any warnings, please note what they say and contact me with the info.

Sorry, it’s the best I know how to do, and with what I’ve been able to determine to date, it’s either proceed with caution or shut down the blog.

  4. I voted for Trump. I have contributed financially to him, his campaign, and his re-election fund on multiple occasions. Now I discover that Trump is nothing more than another lying, backstabbing son of a bitch. Not only because of crap like this court nominee, but also, the new just announced yesterday that Trump has his people reassessing the “benefits” of the USA going ahead and joining the TPP. This after convincing all of us about how bad the TPP will be for America, and how he would permanently scrap it for us. If you place your trust in Trump, you are a fool. Trust in God and nobody else.

  5. Chief Justice John Roberts taught us we can’t trust any of them. “We the people” are 100% responsible for our own we being. Take that responsibility seriously. Whatever you now depend on the government for have a ready, planned alternative. And, know your tribe.

  6. I was a Soldier (add Active Duty) for 10.5 yrs, through both the Bush and Obama administrations, this is just absolute undeniable validation of the NWO driving agendas where there is NO political parties other than to exacerbate dissention amoungst the We the People, that use manipulation via manufactured plays on personal emotions to drive perverbial wedges in order to fracture our unity! I am shocked that I interpret these signs as fulfillment of God’s Word and the onset of “birth pangs” that are just the beginning of woes we will be called to endure. Believers, I hate to say that I told ya so, but I am forced to state the Truth: TRUMP IS NOT FOR US AND THEREFORE HE IS AGAINST US! He is NO believer in Jesus as Lord, he denied asking for Forgiveness and is in fact a WOLF IN SHEEPS CLOTHING WHO FOOLED YOU!!!! I saw it coming, I voted for Jesus, I will take NO PART in the defacto state of war against our Lord!!!

  7. All this BS.Its getting old . The only way any of these ASSES can legally change our gun rights is to do a Constitutional Amendment. Stand your ground dont comply. This BS has got to end!

  8. Did you know President Trump signed a Work for Welfare order yesterday? A single appointment to the 9th circuit is not going to change a damned thing there. 9. Hey Mr. President, I did NOT make a substantial donation to your campaign or vote for you
to enable you to fuuk around with our constitutional Bill of Rights.
Leave our SACRED documents as they are or, you’ll turn many, MANY of us against you.

  10. I really do not know where POTUS stands anymore. In the beginning it felt good to get a “somewhat” outsider in office, but I’m beginning to wonder if it isn’t the same as usual. Too bad.

  11. I was fearful of trump from the beginning , and angered that the choice WE THE PEOPLE are being feed by the system ! While I feel WE THE PEOPLE fair better with trump than we would have with killery , neither should have ever been OUR options ! Do you think corporate is going to leave a loophole where by a true conservative PATRIOT can be voted into high office ?
No , corporate has the entire system rigged in their nwo favor ! WE / AMERICA have been infiltrated by greedy corporate intities and their quest for GLOBAL domination ! Their tools are 1st , control of government , 2nd , control of banking & currency , 3rd , turn OUR education system into an indoctrination institution , whereby to breed thru brainwashing whole generations of global SOCIALIST , 4th , the assimilation of media , both main stream & social !
5th , the implementation of false & misleading information ! And 6th , create division among the population in political party , socioeconomic , race , gender , religion & morality !
The UNITED STATES is being covertly split into many factions , DIVIDE & CONQUER , one of the oldest conquest techniques known !
Wake up AMERICA ,, WE are being played & manipulated & used , by corporate and their desire for global domination ! !
All the warning signs have surfaced in the last 2 decades & are there in plain sight !
The idea , the plan , and the foundation blocks of the greatest nation on Earth are being chiseled away & replaced with the devisive concept of progressive & diversity !
OUR CORRUPT PUBLIC SERVANTS are lieing to us daily , they use the false pretence of ” national security ” to hide behind closed doors with armed
guards , while they sell AMERICA down the road to corporate global control ! !

  12. A couple of thoughts:

    1) If you don’t like this appointment – and I don’t – WRITE YOUR SENATORS. I have, how about you?

    2) THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO ABANDON THE NRA. Frankly, we need to learn from the other side. They have united every anti-gun rights group. We need to do the same.

The next battle is not going to be about background checks – it’s going to be about a lot more. By all means get behind the gun rights group of your choice – NRA, GOA, CCRKBA, Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership or someone else – but then we must demand that all these groups work together to influence our society and lawmakers. Yesterday’s rallies were a start, but were not well promoted. We need to set a date and all the gun rights groups need to get behind it.

Finally, register to vote and make sure that all your friends who agree with us are as well – and then make sure they turn out to vote in both the primaries and the general election.

  13. Republicans are wrong on Citizens United. I can think of no other decision that brought the far right, John Birch Society, and left, Moveon.org, into agreement. Americans can not absolve themselves of responsibility for their government by handing the reins over to corporate interests.

America needs its businesses focused on competing in the global economy not distracted by incursions into government. Allowing them to do so only makes them more dependent on government and less able to compete in the free market.

The best thing for America is to liberate corporations from the entanglements of government by disallowing them access to any branch of government thereby freeing them to do what they do best, business.

The question of free speech is moot since corporations are fictional persons in law created by States to protect shareholder interests while allowing the organizations to operate as an individual entity. Only God can create a person, one of the many who make up
    We the People…

  14. We volunteered for him until recently, when we quit and nicknamed him president SWAMP.
Check out what they are doing to A II in Oregooon (peoples republic)
    Oregon Firearms Federation oregonfirearms.org

…at what point citizens exercise provisions of A II? It will not be possible after confiscation…
    Just some food for thought…
