It’s Getting Harder for Democrats to Deny They’re the Party of Flat-Out Citizen Disarmament

It’s Getting Harder for Democrats to Deny They’re the Party of Flat-Out Citizen Disarmament
The historically ignorant have no idea what they’re really demanding. Those manipulating them understand perfectly.

“Karen Carter Peterson, chair of the Louisiana Democratic Party, has distinguished herself as the highest-profile Democrat in the country to outright call for a repeal of the Second Amendment,” The Advocate notes. “Last week, Peterson sent out a tweet with the words, ‘Repeal the Second Amendment.’ The tweet also linked to a New York Times column by former U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, arguing for a repeal of the Second Amendment.”

First of all, Peterson is more than a state politico. She’s Vice Chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee.

As for Stevens, his arguments fall apart simply by comparing them to what the Founders and past Supreme Court rulings have said. And while Stevens was a Republican nominee, he was not the first such “GOP justice” who betrayed the expectations of those who appointed him. William Brennan, Earl Warren, Warren Burger and David Souter all come to mind — because they acted more like Democrats.

When it comes to guns, depriving the people of, as the Miller Court put it, “ordinary military equipment … that … could contribute to the common defense,” and of what Tench Coxe called “the birthright of an American,” is part of the Democrat Party platform. Those “weapons of war” they want to ban (along with a host of other prior restraint infringements) are precisely what we’re entitled to have for reasons the Founders made clear.

There’s a federal so-called “assault weapon” ban out there that Democrat oath-breaker David Cicilline of Rhode Island has been trying to force down our throats for several years now—fortunately, it has never had more than a one percent chance of enactment, but significantly, it has gained 175 co-sponsors, all of them Democrats.

But what about so-called “pro-gun Democrats”? I maintain there is no such thing. Sure, you’ll get politicians in hunting country who appeal to the sport shooter crowd and have to vote a certain way in order to get elected—the Party allows for that so it can increase its power and influence and advance other agenda items. But when you get right down to it, not a one of them will oppose a nominee like Obama or Hillary for president or Sotomayor or Kagan for the Supreme Court, they all support the cultural terraforming of the country in order to gain Democrat voters, and they’ll even betray constituents on guns when it suits their purposes.

Remember A-rated “pro-gun Democrat” and gopher hunter Jon Tester? Remember what this phony “champion of the right to bear arms said when he sided with Bloomberg’s Everytown to deny “allowing” peaceable American gun owners to lawfully carry their firearms when doing business with post offices?

Or here’s another one: Chris Coster, whose “proven record of defending the Second Amendment” evidently included shilling for Hillary and rolling over for Obama executive orders on guns. And don’t get me started on “proven champion of the Second Amendment” Harry Reid, Joe Manchin, Kirsten Gillibrand

I could do this all day. The ones who should have to are the paid staffers at NRA who convinced their members to vote for these frauds.

Admittedly, there is no shortage of Republican turncoats (and let’s not forget that neocon George Will called for repeal decades ago). When I see them, I call them out. No matter how high up the food chain. That’s why I recommend never donating to the party, but only to individual candidates who have proven they mean what they say. By and large, when there’s a major push for citizen disarmament, the Republicans need to be managed to keep the herd from spooking and bolting, but the Democrats are the ones trying to start the stampede.

And their constituents are fine with that. Hell, they demand it.

“The vast majority of Democrats also support banning all semi-automatic weapons,” National Review reports. “More than a third of the Democratic party would do away with the Second Amendment [and] Democrats are evenly split on banning all handguns (including revolvers) except those carried by law enforcement.”

And that in turn “inspires” the media to offer advocacy essays like “Repeal the Second Amendment” and “More Democrats Should Be Calling for the Repeal of the Second Amendment.”

“Progressives” who haven’t thought through the logistics and the resistance that trying it would spawn evidently believe it’s simply a matter of getting enough votes.

It’s not a crazy idea,” Christopher M. Norwood, J.D., Spokesman for the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida and a Democratic Executive Committee Member for Miami-Dade County insists.

Sure it is, Chris. You just haven’t thought it through.

None of them have, because a repeal would not eradicate what the Heller court and the Cruikshank court before it recognized as a preexisting right, and some who view it as such will not go gentle into that good night.

  1. Strictly speaking, an actual repeal of the Second Amendment is unlikely because it is difficult to amend the U.S. Constitution.

    1. Ever hear of “Prohibition.” Granted that a majority of states had prohibition statues on the books already. If enough states limit or ban guns then you could get “Prohibition II.” Highly unlikely

  2. how do these people think they got to be free ,those guns make sure we keep are freedom,GOD BLESS THE MEN THAT GAVE THERE ALL FOR US TO STAY FREE

  3. Isn’t the democrat party the same party that voted against God a few years ago? Why should anyone expect them to support a God given right?

  4. The 2nd amendment cannot be repealed, just as any of the other Bill of Rights cannot be be repealed, amended, modified or regulated. The Constitution was ratified by the original state ratification conventions with the requirement that Congress pass the required Bill of Rights, no Bill of Rights, no constitution and the Confederation of States continued. If any of the numerous traitors in our country continue down tho insane, destructive and traitorous path then effective with any action against any of the Bill of Rights then the Constitution (as a legal and in force binding contract) will be revoked, null and void and the Confederation of States will resume in force.

  5. Go Ahead Repeal 2A,, the Bill of rights is not Law,, only a LIST of RIGHTs we gain at birth.. Repeal all U Libs want,, it won’t deny my RIGHTS… Rights are Not given by the Govt,, and can’t be taken by the Govt. Shall NOT be infringed,,,

    1. Unfortunately, it can be repealed. Yes, it would be nearly impossible now but what about 10 years from now when all the young kids who are being indoctrinated in schools without ever learning the truth or history begin voting? Their plan is a long term war to destroy this country. The Democrats have been working this plan for the last 40+ years. They just keep chipping away at it while us old patriots just keep dying off. Keep headed down this path and the scales will tip to the other side.

      1. I might add that it has been more than 40+ years. This began before the turn of the 20th century. We “youngsters” (I’m well into my 60s) only heard of it during our lifetimes. The issue began long before any of us were born.

    2. You are right in that it is a God given right but, the bill of rights is law. The law clearly states that the Government will not infringe on the right of citizens to bear arms. Anyone in a government position of authority who advocates an infringement on our rights is violating the law. The problem is that no one holds them accountable for violating the law. At some point “we the people” are going to have to hold them accountable. That point is arriving very quickly! Keep you powder dry!

      1. Yes. Ultimately, we all know that it will require the exercise of the 2ns Amendment to save both it and all the others. Our rights and freedoms are worth killing and dying for. Semper Fi!!

      2. The semiautomatic weapons ban was passed by the 103rd congress, whereby the demonrats controlled both the house and the senate and the oval office was occupied by a pot smoking treasonous draft dodger and rapist.
In 2004, the Republican controlled House allowed it to sunset.
Every large city is controlled by demonrats and coincidentally are the scum of earth examples of unconstitutional lawlessness, filth, and have the greatest infringements on the 2nd Amendment.
It is a third of the demonrats who would repeal the 2nd Amendment:
The survey also showed that a majority of Demonrats, 82 percent, are in favor of banning all semi-automatic weapons, which include handguns as well as rifles.

  6. Democrat politicians are conspiring to deprive us of our Constitutionally protected human rights. Shouldn’t they be put on trial for violating their oath of office? And if convicted should be thrown in prison just like they want to do with peaceable gun owners.

  7. There is something that I have never seen nor heard of. Don’t all from executive to judicial branches of government swear an oath to uphold and protect the Constitution? I am quite sure the answer is or must be yes. So when take for example,Diane Fienstien gets on 60 minutes and says, If I could have gotten the votes I would have said, mr.and mrs. America turn them all in. Why wouldn’t some one so blatantly breaking their oath have been impeached on the spot? Does anyone know why?this is the case?

  8. They’re the Gun Confiscation Lobby, that said, let them repeal the Second Amendment, it’s been useless for over 80 years.

  9. David @ Oath Keepers raises a good question… We know there are plenty of collectivists Republicans who merely give lip service to liberty, but are there ANY Democrats who support the Natural Right of Self-Defense???

  10. The 2nd amendment is a bulwark against a despotic GOVERNMENT. All countries that have disarmed the law abiding public have proved to be despotic totalitarian, with such as Hitler’s Germany, Mussolini’s Italy, Cambodia, N.Korea, African countries all murdering MILLIONS of their subjects. The New World Order would take our Republic and completely destroy its Constitution and freedom of the American people to enslave us (We The People) to the whims of the multi billionaire (world government) “elites”. As Patrick Henry said: “Give me freedom, or give me death>” I much prefer the autonomy of a free society under our Constitutional Law. No repeal of the 2nd amendment natural right of self defense.

  11. Can those who are backing the 2nd Amendment ask the Anti-2nd Amendment people just why are they so adamant to destroy the 2nd Amendment and for what purpose they would like the American people disarmed? What purpose would it serve. What very bad things could it also serve. and through out History what has it helped? Does it keep the people safe and how can that be proven.

    1. Gray,
Good question that I also have. But progressive Marxists do not want to have a discussion. They are not able to because they are programmed to use force to destroy. Read “Progressivism” by James Osrowski. They will never stop unless they are met wit the force of Law. Or something worse. They don’t have any interest in discipussing anything. They want to control you.

    1. Ya Greg, I saw all of those and the comment sections are much like here. A lot of talk, but no one is doing much but talk. I believe in talking things through, but the NWO has an agenda and it looks to me that they are really ramping things up now. Looks like they are pushing for a fight. My gosh it is almost surreal and folks are either still asleep or maybe like me not knowing what really to do.Maybe we will have to hear and know that the shot heard round the world has really happened.

      1. Oh, it’s past time to form a Washington Militia group. Here’s the rub; because we put it off until they passed an ERPO law, it will be hard to do it in the light of day. It’s time to get down and dirty, time to go underground. Bad times are a comin, and we can be victims, or we can stand and protect ourselves.

  12. I just turned seventy and am an endowment member of the NRA and I’m a little tired of reading that the NRA has endorsed some politician even though they’re a Democrat because they haven’t been a foaming at the mouth hoplophobe. Or supporting some wishy-washy Republican who claims to be a hunter and has pictures published of him with his shotgun over his shoulder and his retriever sitting at his feet. I’ve about reached the point that when I see a politician with his shotgun and his dog I automatically vote against him. The NRA might not be as effective as they could be, but they’re the big dog in the yard and all gun owners need to stay on top of the directors until they listen to those of us who care more about the Second Amendment than they care about hobnobbing with celebrities and powerful politicians. It’s become pretty clear that both the Democrats and the Republicans have abandoned Second Amendment supporters so why should the NRA be supporting either? Somebody at the top needs to be working with the Libertarian Party or at least finding Republicans who won’t turn around and stab us in the back. Personally I agree with the “no compromise” stance of Gun Owners of America and have joined GOA as well as supporting them through Amazon’s Smile Program, which gives GOA a small donation every time I order from Amazon. What we’re doing isn’t working. It’s time to try something new. Thanks to a lack of charisma or charm at the top gun owners are losing the public opinion battle and if we’re to keep our guns we’ll have to turn that around.

  13. Leftists Demanding Gun Confiscation – The short List updated to March 2018
An abbreviated list* of the times the national Socialist left talked about taking everyone’s firearms.
In order to execute the necessary steps to confiscate guns, the Left must first take control of private property with Intergalactic Background Checks [Universal, Enhanced, etc.] But they need to Lie about their ultimate goal so that the people will accept this drastic intrusion into their personal lives.
The Left needs this control over private property to get the data for their final solution to the gun problem. This is the critical step for them and the reason they obsess over ‘Background Checks’. The difficulty for the Left is that they need this stepping stone to gun confiscation while denying it’s a stepping stone to gun confiscation.
This is an abbreviated list shows they are openly lying when they deny their intentions, it also shows they have developed some clever euphemisms for the taking everyone’s firearms.
