Larry King: Time to Repeal the ‘Poorly Written’ Second Amendment

Larry King: Time to Repeal the ‘Poorly Written’ Second Amendment

Here we go! After retired Supreme Court Justice Stevens, in a New York Times Opinion piece suggested the 2nd Amendment should be repealed, Mainstream Media, liberal Larry King agreed with Stevens. The full court press is on, now, and it will be interesting to see who joins in on the repeal side. For years the gun-grabbers have said they don’t want to take our guns, or have said they support the 2nd Amendment, but want “gun control”. The mask is now off. The first voices for repeal of the 2nd Amendment have been heard.

I call BS. Liberals and Progressives who support the Globalist Agenda want us disarmed. Period. They want us subservient to the State, and dependent on “authorities” for our personal defense and to restrict us from being capable of overthrowing tyranny. Without the 2nd Amendment, all of our freedoms are in jeopardy.

From Breitbart:

On March 27 Breitbart News reported that the most recent poll on repealing the Second Amendment — a February Economist/YouGov poll — shows only 21 percent of Americans support a repeal of the Second Amendment. It takes three-fourths of the states to approve such an repeal, and that only happens after two-thirds of the House and two-thirds of the Senate sign off on it (or after two-thirds of the states propose it).

Many States have within their State Constitutions an individual right to own firearms. My State of Montana is one of them. Will police, who swear an oath to both the US Constitution and the State Constitution, be asked to seize our guns? I doubt many will comply, as they know there will be great resistance. Many will simply resign.

This latest attempt at gun control is, it would seem, a last ditch effort by the Globalists to deflect attention from their attempts to control the narrative, which is failing miserably, and to cause more chaos, division and confusion. That is what they do. The Globalists worldwide are failing. They know it and we know it. They have no qualms about bringing everything down with them. If they can’t have their way, they will do a scorched earth policy, leaving behind wreckage which they still hope to arise from as masters. They cannot admit defeat. Ever.

People like former Justice Stevens and Larry King are very old, and have been chosen by the Globalist hierarchy to lead the way in this blatant attempt to subjugate us. They have little to lose at this point, so they are being sacrificed on the altar of Globalism. Who else will join them in this failed effort?

Shorty Dawkins

  1. I would support a re-write of the Second Amendment to something like this:

An armed citizenry being necessary to the security of a free state, the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed by any governmental entity at any level.

      1. When you get right down to it, the only word in the Second Amendment that could be considered “outdated” is “militia.” But the people who use that word to attack the Second Amendment completely ignore two things: (1) in colonial days, the militia was “the people;” and (2) the National Guard is NOT the modern day militia. While state governors may have some say in the local deployment of National Guard units, they are still under the auspices of the “standing Army” (or Air Force) for logistics, pay and ordnance purposes, and the Founders abhorred the concept of a standing army.

And not to belabor the point, but the concept of militias is beginning to make a comeback, which is a good thing because we’re likely headed for a period in our history when they’re going to be needed if our republic is to sujrvive.

        1. I love the word militia as intended by the Founders. Self-sufficient and independent people watching out for and protecting one another. We have been conditioned to recoil and back away from a great word. THANK GOD the curtain has been pulled back on our conditioners!

  2. The Second Amendment is very well written Retire Justice Stevens says to repeal it because otherwise it totally blocks passage of the gun laws and confiscation they want.
It was written in 1788-89 and ratified in 1791 if I remember correctly.
It has been misprinted with extra commas added but it only had one comma when sent to teh states in 1789. Maybe the extra commas were just an accident, maybe not.
But they make it possible to read the militia shall not be infringed.
In 1959 when Alaska and Hawaii joined the Union they copied the Second Amendment with the correct single comma.
To make it easier to understand I’ll make a very small alteration.
A well regulated militia being necessary to te security of a free state ? [yes, therefore]
“The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

  3. If it is about safety and not slavery, why not rather than repeal 2A, fight to overturn Castlerock v. Gonzalez and have a conversation about what that would really mean.

  4. Poorly written?

Under your system who has the right to eat food?
“A well balanced breakfast being necessary to the start of a great day, the right the people to keep and eat food shall not be infringed.”
So in your understanding of the English language only the breakfast and the day get food. So then, I guess the people just starve like in Venezuela huh? It’s so very poorly worded isn’t it?

“A well managed gulag being necessary to the enslavement of a communist state, the right of the people to take and destroy arms shall not be infringed.”

    Who knew?

I do have one tiny question though; who has the right to take and destroy arms, is it the gulag or the state? Oh, wait, it says the “the right of the people”! I see then, it’s the people who have rights and it’s governments that have granted authority. Well sir, in that case come and get them. And even if you do manage to get the state this authority, guess what? People still have to come and get them. See there, only real people have rights and responsibilities. Amazing. Learning is fun!

  5. Come on Larry, aren’t you old enough to get your ass to the nursing home yet?? Retire, give a new young voice a chance, and please not pimple faced David Hogg….

  6. This portion of an excellent article from says it better than I can:

Our Second Amendment reads: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Our Constitution does not give us any rights. Rather, it affirms rights that we already have in order to safeguard them. Note that the “right of the people to keep and bear arms” isn’t given by the language above. Instead, our right to keep and bear arms, which exists outside of the Constitution, is protected from infringement.

The militia is mentioned as the goal for the protection of our right to keep and bear arms — it is not a requirement. A helpful analog from an unknown author goes like this: “A well-educated electorate, being necessary to the preservation of a free society, the right of the people to read and compose books, shall not be infringed.”

In this example, it should be easy to see that the right to read and compose books is not reserved only to those that are registered voters or well-educated. Instead, the goal is a well-educated electorate, for which tools of education are needed. Likewise, our right to keep and bear arms is protected in the event a well-regulated militia is needed to defend our country.

  7. Let’s not be falling into the trap of even discussing it. Simply leave it alone. Don’t open the door they are trying to open. It’s a trick the left pulls on the right, who always fall for.

  8. I read a good comment the other day on this topic that said we need to stop being on the defensive and instead go on the offense. For example, it said, let’s talk about and push for undoing all the ‘gun control acts’ and also legalize machine guns, and military weapons again. In other words, we the people are supposed to have the same stuff as the military so let’s get on with it. Offense!

    1. @Linda….And I will reiterate again what I have been saying for years now….It is way past time to charge these GUN GRABBING TRAITORS (GGT’s) with TREASON and SEDITION and drag them into court where their motives can be ascertained. Those who should know better and have taken an oath to uphold the Constitution can be found guilty, and suffer the penalty. I suggest the penalty for these dirtbags to be of the old fashioned kind with a modern day twist of being publicly televised for the world to see. I suggest the televised penalty to be a tar and feathering and then a rail ride down to the hanging tree where they can do their final dance dangling from a rope. Without a few examples made, these Commie dirtbags will just get louder and bolder, until they corrupt too many of the weak willed, dumbed down citizens who fall for the TV propaganda.

  9. It is extremely difficult to amend the U.S. Constitution. Attempting to repeal the Second Amendment is very unlikely.

    1. Right, and they know that, so they liberal courts find no error in allowing laws and regulations that essentially strip the 2nd A. And there seems to be no consequences, just griping.

  10. Attempting to repeal the Second Amendment is unlikely because amending the U.S. Constitution is extremely difficult, and any serious effort to repeal the 2A would be fought tooth and nail.

  11. Bath House Barry had his enemies list. It could be that Larry King of nothing is on a quite separate enemies list.
