A Most Dangerous Condition with Judge Roy Moore

By Jim Boyer  11/19/2019

I recently got a message with a thought that I think needs to be taken very seriously with a focus on the politics of the day and an understanding of how simple comments or small ideas in our government grow into major legislative or cultural battles.

I don’t doubt for a minute that what we are seeing in today’s news could grow like the proverbial snowball rolling down a snow covered hill.

While most of the focus is on the media’s “the shiny object”, Judge Roy Moore and the contentious senate race in Alabama, a very dangerous statement has been tossed out by Colorado Sen. Cory Gardner, chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. With the support of Senators Jeff Flake of Arizona and Todd Young of Indiana, Gardner has put forth the idea that if Judge Roy Moore wins the election in Alabama the senate should expel him because he does not meet the moral and ethical standards of the senate.

This idea should be of great concern, actually an outrage to every freedom loving American citizen. Remembering that Judge Moore has not had a day in court, has not met his accusers and has not been proven guilty of anything, let’s step back for a minute and think about what this all means.

What these men are saying is that in their vision of American governance, any legislative body that simply does not like the person, the race, or maybe the state they represent, they should be able to simply refuse to allow them into their club. They are saying they support the idea of a select few controlling the entire population and voters be damned. This defeats the purpose of our constitution and is dangerous to our republic.

**For just a moment I will step away from my main point to say that I am simultaneously annoyed and disgusted when anyone disrespects my ability to recognize how Washington is run by claiming a decision can be based on the “moral and ethical standards of the US Senate”. The body that praises the ‘careers’ of murderer Ted Kennedy, Klan Dragon Robert Byrd, Intelligence leaker Patrick Leahy, check bouncer Barbara Boxer and career criminal Hillary Clinton has no license to talk down to us by claiming morals or ethics are a basis for anything they do.

But, back to the issue at hand; if they were successful in creating a slippery slope by pushing this ideal, the end result could take us to the point of excluding any group they wish from having a seat in government. Christians, constitutionalists, whites, women, veterans …pick one. In fact the precedent they are trying to set here could apply if Donald Trump is re-elected and the D.C. establishment wants to get together and say, “No way. We refuse to accept him”.

In the other house of congress the Hispanic Caucus recently refused to admit Cuban U.S.Representative Carlos Curbelo because he is a conservative republican. This of course, is the same level of discrimination we have seen by women’s groups, blacks and gay organizations that refuse to allow conservatives inside their circle. It is well publicized that in the entertainment community, academia and media, conservatives are not welcome. While it is not possible to pursue legal action against someone based on ideology the open hatred shown by liberals towards anyone who doesn’t share their philosophy is something we should all take note of.

In the extreme, Rhode Island Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse has suggested RICO laws instituted for the prosecution of individuals who engage in organized crime should be applied to global warming skeptics. California AG Kamala Harris, who is now a US Senator and potential presidential hopeful, opened up an investigation of ExxonMobil for allegedly lying to the public and their shareholders about climate change. She urged US Attorney General Loretta Lynch to prosecute those who “pretend that the science of carbon emissions’ dangers is unsettled”, particularly those in the “fossil fuel industry” who supposedly have constructed a “climate denial apparatus.”

While it was once the sole domain of liberals to cry about discrimination while employing it at a high level in their political campaigns, it is now becoming an applied strategy for establishment politicians to use in intimidating American voters while opposing the efforts of Donald Trump to make America great again.

The battle against President Trump’s agenda and all of those who support him in boosting our economy and our standing in the global community has created a strange partnership between liberals and establishment elites who once sold themselves as conservative ideologists.

This is what the real battle is about. As the liberal minority partners with the entrenched establishment to make small gains that are often unnoticed behind the sensational headlines of the day, they are taking us into dangerous territory. If a greater interest is not taken in the people we elect and where they may take us, we may soon be passing the point of no return.

Singer, songwriter Don McLean once wrote:

The gates are all down and the signals are flashin’, the whistle is screaming in vain.
If you stay on the tracks ignoring the facts, you can’t blame the wreck on the train.”

  1. When Moore is in office, which he will be, the house of desperation in Congress will fall. Look at the corrupt black caucus and the corrupted system of governance in DC. They are but few, for the most part all criminals from sexual misconduct, pedophiles, to treason to outright murder. Their noise over Moore is them pissing their pants, and thunderously browning their cheeks. It’ll be jail for those who don’t quit, hide, run, or bless the world with their own suicide. Doing my part to see a clean sweep of the place of evil beyond our imagination.

  2. “Christians, constitutionalists, whites, women, veterans …pick one”. Excellent point, Roy Moore is numbers 1-3…..
