Alabama Congressman Files One-Sentence Bill to Repeal Obamacare

The US government has no Constitutional authority to regulate healthcare. Rep. Brooks’ bill is a step in the right direction. By repealing Obamacare, the Congress can take the first step toward removing government control of healthcare. This is just a first step, bur an important one. – Shorty Dawkins

Short, sweet and to the point . . .

A bill filed in the House of Representatives by Congressman Mo Brooks of Alabama cuts to the heart of the Obamacare problem with more brevity than most would expect.

Over the course of just two pages, the congressman from Huntsville laid out what is to be called the “Obamacare Repeal Act”. In even more tact, the meat and potatoes of the bill are boiled down to one sentence:

“Effective as of Dec. 31, 2017, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is repealed, and the provisions of law amended or repealed by such Act are restored or revived as if such Act had not been enacted.”

The bill would also repeal another law put into place by President Barack Obama, the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010.

Currently, the bill Brooks presented has no co-sponsors, but Brooks believes there is enough weight to his proposal that he quipped, “If the American people want to repeal Obamacare, this is their last, best chance during the 115th Congress.”
