Welcome Aboard… But First US Marshals Will Scan Your Retina

Submitted by Jeffrey Tucker via The Foundation for Economic Education,

For some 15 years, airport security has become steadily more invasive.
There are ever more checkpoints, ever more requests for documents as you make your way from the airport entrance to the airplane. Passengers adapt to the new changes as they come. But my latest flight to Mexico, originating in Atlanta, presented all passengers with something I had never seen before.

We had already been through boarding pass checks, passport checks, scanners, and pat downs. At the gate, each passenger had already had their tickets scanned and we were all walking on the jet bridge to board. It’s at this point that most people assume that it is all done: finally we can enjoy some sense of normalcy.

This time was different. Halfway down the jetbridge, there was a new layer of security. Two US Marshals, heavily armed and dressed in dystopian-style black regalia, stood next to an upright machine with a glowing green eye. Every passenger, one by one, was told to step on a mat and look into the green scanner. It was scanning our eyes and matching that scan with the passport, which was also scanned (yet again).

Like everyone else, I complied. What was my choice? I guess I could have turned back at the point, decline to take the flight I had paid for, but it would be unclear what would then happen. After standing there for perhaps 8 seconds, the machine gave the go signal and I boarded.

I talked to a few passengers about this and others were just as shaken by the experience. They were reticent even to talk about it, as people tend to be when confronted with something like this.

I couldn’t find anyone who had ever seen something like this before. I wrote friends who travel internationally and none said they had ever seen anything like this.

I will tell you how it made me feel: like a prisoner in my own country. It’s one thing to control who comes into a country. But surveilling and permissioning American citizens as they leave their own country, even as they are about to board, is something else.

Where is the toggle switch that would have told the machine not to let me board, and who controls it? How prone is it to bureaucratic error? What happens to my scan now and who has access to it?

The scene reminded me of movies I’ve seen, like Hunger Games or 1984. It’s chilling and strange, even deeply alarming to anyone who has ever dreamed of what freedom might be like. It doesn’t look like this.

Why Now?

I’ve searched the web for some evidence that this new practice has been going on for a while and I just didn’t notice. I find nothing about it. I’ve looked to find some new order, maybe leftover from the Obama administration, that is just now being implemented. But I find nothing.

Update: a reader has pointed me to this page at Homeland Security:

As part of U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) border security mission, the agency is deploying new technologies to verify travelers’ identities – both when they arrive and when they leave the United States – by matching a traveler to the document they are presenting. CBP’s goal is to enhance national security and protect a traveler’s identity against theft through the use of biometrics.

Biometric information (such as finger, face, or iris) measures a person’s unique physical characteristics. CBP incorporated fingerprints for biometric identification and verification in 2004, and is now testing facial and iris imaging capabilities to help improve travelers’ identity protection, the integrity of our immigration system, and our national security.

I happened to be on the “one daily flight” that gets exit scanned.

And here we are today, with ever more controls, seeming to follow Orwell’s blueprint for how to end whatever practical freedoms we have left. And we are going this way despite the absence of any real crisis, any imminent threat? The driving force seems to be this: our own government’s desire to control every aspect of our lives.

Think of it: there might be no getting out of the country without subjecting yourself to this process. It’s a digital Berlin Wall. This is what it means to put “security” ahead of freedom: you get neither.

  1. “For some 15 years, airport security has become steadily more invasive… ”

Yet there is NO LAWFUL authority for these actions, or for the TSA. So what is this really? What is it called when uniformed person is armed and makes you go through checkpoints, full body patdowns, etc? I can tell you it is not American. China, Russia, etc can tell you that it is their law. Here it is *terrorism, treason, molestation, Perjury, a felony or 3, etc. It is the actions of those wh oare working to destroy our nation from within. If they were not, they would REFUSE to do those things; you know, the just say “NO” to unlawful orders – and they are unlawful,

“Like everyone else, I complied. What was my choice?”

Your choice was to say “No”, leave, and make other arrangements. Then start training for your stat’s Militia so that there will be enough people trained who can…
    — Enforce the US Constitution (supreme Law of this land that ALL who serve within our governments are required to be Oath bound to) and each state’s Constitution (highest Law of the state that all state employees are also Oath bound to (US Constitution also),
    — Enforce and keep the “Laws of the Union” (which are constitutional laws ONLY),
    — Protect the country against all enemies both domestic and foreign, and
    — “to suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions”

When enough people have their heads out of dark places in their body they will refuse – hopefully soon. Because between drones guarding or skies, domestic enemies/traitors our streets, cities, counties, states, etc; and the unmanned submarines, and ships that are already in our oceans – we are fenced in. Now all they need to do is narrow down the pastures and destroy the “undesirables”.

Military, LE’s, First Responders you are also penned in, though at this time you are thinking – if thinking at all – that you are just the enforcement arm/response arm. When they come for YOUR property, etc if not willingly and happily passed over; or if they doubt you will be useful at all since you also were betrayed – you will be killed. See how studying a bit of history would have helped you to avoid these moments? Start saying “No” and keeping your Oath because the time is getting very late for all of us.

“I will tell you how it made me feel: like a prisoner in my own country. ”

You are. It is just at this moment you have a large pasture and the fences are not so noticeable. But you just ran into a fence you did not realize was there to be used AGAINST you. Soon the only “free”, “independent”, and “property owners” that stand for their nation will be dead.

But it is our fault. It was so much easier for us to “kick azz” and break into homes with no warrants – and that reaction is exactly why when a police state is being implemented and a governmental takeover they do that. In my lifetime, even in California, people carried their rifles in racks in their pickups, and it was not unusual to be armed. People traveled pretty much everywhere they wanted to go. Their homes WERE their castles, and no governmental law enforcement broke into them, or even had no warrant. In those days one had to watch for domestic enemy judges who worked against the people and for the destruction of our nation by giving unlawful pre signed warrants which were filled in later.

Instead of issuing a warrant for that judge, they were grateful for his unlawful actions against the American people because it made his job easier. Did they really believe it was because the judge who did NOT hang out with the LE liked and trusted him enough to do those things? No, it was accepted and not really thought about that action being one of the first steps to a police state and the destruction of America.

Guess what, when this nation is gone, NOTHING YOU “own” will be owned by you anymore because it was all done under our constitutional republic. Did you think you would still have that position you occupy, and all the stuff you now have and can do?

North Carolina Supreme Court decision, given prior to the culmination of the Constitutional Convention: “But that it was clear that no act they could pass could by any means repeal or alter the constitution, because if they could do this, they would at the same instant of time destroy their own existence as a legislature and dissolve the government thereby established.” Bayard v. Singleton [1 N.C. 42] 1787

Dr. Vieira also said that here: “This has nothing to do with personalities or subjective ideas. It’s a matter of what the Constitution provides… The government of the United States has never violated anyone’s constitutional rights… The government of the United States will never violate anyone constitutional rights, because it cannot violate anyone’s constitutional rights. The reason for that is: The government of the United States is that set of actions by public officials that are consistent with the Constitution. Outside of its constitutional powers, the government of the United States has no legitimacy. It has no authority; and, it really even has no existence. It is what lawyers call a legal fiction.”

So what does those two comments above tell us? That when an Oath is broken, the contract not kept they no longer serve within our government.

The US Constitution is in writing so that all can know what can or cannot be done by those who serve; so that if our government and schools, places of training no longer taught it then it can still be accessed and learned – required for the oath bound because of that Oath.

How many of you are aware that all the information gathered on us by the NSA is contracted out to foreign nations? That it gives them not just basic information, but exactly what we do throughout the day (TV’s, Smartphones, Smart appliances, etc plus Smartmeters, and we can be tracked if we have Ipads and Smartphones, etc? Who knows who gets that information on us? When do we say enough and start bringing charges, start saying “no” to unlawful orders? Now they will have even that information on us, our children, our families, our friends.

Treason – Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution of the United States provides: Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.

Three key elements are necessary for an offense to constitute treason: an obligation of allegiance to the legal order, and intent and action to violate that obligation.

Tell me where a lot of those who serve within our governments have not been aiding the “deep state”, the NWO to destroy our nation from within. Government is always backed by the threat of force so it qualifies on all sides as Treason/*Terrorism.

    Some things to consider…
Bertrand Russell,1953: “… Diet, injections, and injunctions will combine, from a very early age, to produce the sort of character and the sort of beliefs that the authorities consider desirable, and any serious criticism of the powers that be will become psychologically impossible…” (“The Impact of Science on Society”, Simon and Schuster, New York, 1953)

  2. A certain government data hall security directive demanded retinal scans to enter a number of different data halls. The lefty regime put a halt to the security measure. But…then there is everyone else. Unbridled hypocrisy. Do as I say, but leave me out.
