Can you Defend Yourself?

Can you Defend Yourself?

I have collected a few videos on self-defense. If you are being attacked, what can you do to defend yourself? These videos give you some ideas. There are many more on the internet, but here are a few.

  1. Those videos are so staged. I spent years on the mat. In my opinion unless you earn yourself a few ringworm tattoos by doing plenty of submission sparring none of these methods will help, because no technique at all is already brutally effective, or shall I say going hard, and fast. The first phase of fighting skill is learning to stay calm, and survive the attacks. My suggestion is to find a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu school, and check out these videos:
Bottom line jiu jitsu fighters are so highly advanced in fighting skills they literally play against untaught fighters as if they’re a dead mouse. I’ve seen schools totally drop MMA and go jiu jitsu. Wit that said I’m a huge Muay Thai fan. But I am more than glad I chose Jiu jitsu.

    1. Jiu-jitsu is great if you are one on one. Most fights go to the ground. If your attacker has friends, expect to get kicked while you are grappling. Having worked as a bouncer, I can attest to this. To be truly effective, one needs some punching/kicking also. I like Krav-Maga for serious social disputes. Just my two cents worth.
