By Michael W. Cutler – January 25, 2017

On Inauguration Day (Jan. 20), the day before and the day after, protestors who opposed Donald Trump’s election as the 45th U.S. President and his campaign promises, particularly his promise to build a wall, took to the streets. Among their hand-held signs, some read, “Build bridges, not walls,” a slogan that demonstrates how naive and ill-informed the protesters are.

Also on Jan. 20, the Department of Justice issued a press release that heralded the extradition to the United States of the leader of the Sinaloa Drug Cartel and of arguably the world’s most violent drug dealer.

The press release, “Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman Loera Faces Charges in New York for Leading a Continuing Criminal Enterprise and other Drug-Related Charges,” painted a clear image of the magnitude of the drug trafficking crimes, including crimes of extreme violence for which he has been indicted.

The press release contains links to the Detention Memo and the Indictment, and begins with these two paragraphs:

“The indictment alleges that between January 1989 and December 2014, Guzman Loera led a continuing criminal enterprise responsible for importing into the United States and distributing massive amounts of illegal narcotics and conspiring to murder persons who posed a threat to Guzman Loera’s narcotics enterprise.

“Guzman Loera is also charged with using firearms in relation to his drug trafficking and money laundering relating to the bulk smuggling from the United States to Mexico of more than $14 billion in cash proceeds from narcotics sales throughout the United States and Canada. As part of this investigation, nearly 200,000 kilograms of cocaine linked to the Sinaloa Cartel have been seized. The indictment seeks forfeiture of more than $14 billion in drug proceeds and illicit profits.”

In order to be successful in their drug trafficking crimes, the Sinaloa Cartel obviously needed to cross the border that is supposed to separate the U.S. from Mexico, not only to move mega-tonnage of heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana into the U.S., but also the employees of the cartel that include “enforcers,” thugs who, on orders from their Cartel bosses, kill, kidnap and torture those who get in the way.

These criminals, almost invariably, were aliens who entered the U.S. illegally. It is alleged that in Mexico the Sinaloa Cartel was responsible for the murder of thousands of individuals, many of whom were beheaded to further intimidate those who posed a threat to the cartel.

However the violence was not limited to Mexico.

The press release noted that this investigation was conducted by courageous law enforcement officers in Colombia, Mexico, the U.S. and elsewhere. In the U.S., the investigation was pursued by the multi-agency Organized Crime, Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) that includes agents of the DEA, FBI, ICE and ATF, as well as members of local and state police departments.

Having spent the final ten years of my career with the INS assigned to OCDETF, I am extremely familiar with the effectiveness of the multiagency task force approach to the investigation and dismantling of large-scale narcotics trafficking organizations. They are critical to border security and effective enforcement of our nation’s immigration laws.

The extradition and prosecution of El Chapo and others are major U.S. law enforcement achievements made in cooperation with the valiant law enforcement officers of Mexico and Colombia. But, the “War on Drugs” continues.

Nevertheless, when Donald Trump campaigned to build a wall to secure the border that is supposed to separate the United States from Mexico to prevent criminals, terrorists and drugs from entering the country, the globalists, aided and abetted by dishonest journalists, created the false narrative equating Trump’s goals and the goals of Americans who demand that our borders be secured against illegal entry with racism.

The provisions of Title 8 U.S. Code § 1182 – Inadmissible aliens guides CBP inspectors at ports of entry in making determinations as to the admissibility of aliens seeking entry into the U.S. These determinations have nothing to do with race, religion or ethnicity.

Jimmy Carter created the term “undocumented immigrant” to describe illegal aliens. Over time, that Orwellian tactic has come to enable immigration anarchists to con many Americans into believing that deporting illegal aliens actually refers to deporting all “immigrants” when nothing could be further from the truth.

Securing our borders against illegal entry is not to be equated with preventing all aliens from entering the U.S., only those aliens who violate our laws.

As I noted when I testified at a Congressional hearing several years ago, a country without secure borders can no more stand than can a house without walls.

  1. President G.W. Bush locked up 2 Border Patrol Agents for doing their job because Bush was always kissing Mexico’s ass! Well, along comes President Donald J. Trump and all that crap is ending. OOORHA! Build that wall…..

  2. I have always thought building a wall is a waste of our tax dollars. Yes, it may slow down the influx of illegals but some will still get over, under, or around it. And how difficult would it be for the cartels to repeatedly target the wall and keep us busy repairing it forever?
    I’d much rather see the laws against hiring illegals strictly and harshly enforced. Send the employer’s to jail. If the illegals can’t work, I think most will ‘self delport’ and go home.

    1. As we all learned in the military, no obstacle is effective unless under direct observation, with effective response also available to stop its breach (in the military, that meant being able to place fire on it as well as observation, but in this context, it would mean boots on the ground to interdict). Make it two fences, with a “no – man’s land” in between like the Korean DMZ.

      1. How many here knew or remembered that there was an already voted on and already passed, already FUNDED to the DHS for $1.2 Billion fence/wall between Mexico and the USA in 2006?

        My question next is, did they think that we might not do the research to show that the DHS had been funded for the wall, so they could use that to make President Trump look bad in the eyes of the dumbed down Americans? You should all already know that they consider us all to have short term memory. If they do not clean it off the net, go read it for yourself.

        “SECURE FENCE ACT OF 2006. Ratified by Congress, signed into law in 2006. (Oct 26, 2006 signed by G. Bush) Supported and voted for by Dems & Repubs. DHS received 1.2 Billion to fund the wall that was never built. Where is the money? So why was this already planned in, voted for, funded but not built wall used to agitate the people?

        “This bill will help protect the American people. This bill will make our borders more secure. It is an important step toward immigration reform.”

        – President George W. Bush, 10/26/06

        Today, President Bush Signed The Secure Fence Act – An Important Step Forward In Our Nation’s Efforts To Control Our Borders And Reform Our Immigration System. Earlier this year, the President laid out a strategy for comprehensive immigration reform. The Secure Fence Act is one part of this reform, and the President will work with Congress to finish the job and pass the remaining elements of this strategy.

        The Secure Fence Act Builds On Progress Securing The Border

        By Making Wise Use Of Physical Barriers And Deploying 21st Century Technology, We Can Help Our Border Patrol Agents Do Their Job And Make Our Border More Secure. The Secure Fence Act:

        – Authorizes the construction of hundreds of miles of additional fencing along our Southern border;

        – Authorizes more vehicle barriers, checkpoints, and lighting to help prevent people from entering our country illegally;

        – Authorizes the Department of Homeland Security to increase the use of advanced technology like cameras, satellites, and unmanned aerial vehicles to reinforce our infrastructure at the border.

        Comprehensive Immigration Reform Begins With Securing The Border. Since President Bush took office, we have:

        — More than doubled funding for border security – from $4.6 billion in 2001 to $10.4 billion this year;

        — Increased the number of Border Patrol agents from about 9,000 to more than 12,000 and by the end of 2008, we will have doubled the number of Border Patrol agents since the President took office;

        — Deployed thousands of National Guard members to assist the Border Patrol;

        — Upgraded technology at our borders and added infrastructure, including new fencing and vehicle barriers;

        — Apprehended and sent home more than 6 million people entering America illegally; and

        — We are adding thousands of new beds in our detention facilities, so we can continue working to end “catch and release” at our Southern border.

        This Act Is One Part Of Our Effort To Reform Our Immigration System, And We Have More Work To Do “

    On Tuesday, President Trump issued two memoranda directing his Administration to reverse course on the federal government’s stance towards the Dakota Access and Keystone XL pipelines. From these memoranda, it is plain that Trump intends to push both projects through the federal permit and easement process as quickly as possible, with no regard for tribal rights and interests.

  4. Walls do a couple of thing, they keep things out, and they keep things in.

    If I get what you are saying, you’re saying that the US Constitution is wrong, and that we need not keep our Oaths, nor make sure that those who serve within our governments keep their Oaths, right? I, and many others, already know that Bush(s) not only did not keep their Oath, but was working against our nation, against our legitimate government.

    Because the US Constitution says that it is us, “We the people of the united States of America” who stop invasions in Article 1, Section 8, Clause 15. It is NOT the US President’s duty, unless we are being attacked, in which case then he uses the Militia, and if needed, from their ranks he pulls into the military to be used there (remember we are NOT supposed to have a standing military, but now we are kept into wars so that those who serve within the Pentagon/military industrial complex – Oathbreakers all – can have a reason to keep their prestige, money, etc while destroying our nation from within).

    James Madison: “The power to declare war, including the power of judging the causes of war, is fully and exclusively vested in the legislature … the executive has no right, in any case, to decide the question, whether there is or is not cause for declaring war.”

    George Washington: “The constitution vests the power of declaring war in Congress; therefore no offensive expedition of importance can be undertaken until after they shall have deliberated upon the subject and authorized such a measure.”

    Tucker, Blackstone’s Commentaries on the Laws of England (1803): “The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, and this without any qualification as to their condition or degree, as is the case in the British government. — This may be considered as the true palladium of liberty… The right of self-defense is the first law of nature; in most governments it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest limits possible. WHENEVER STANDING (permanent) ARMIES ARE KEPT UP, AND THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS IS, under any color or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, LIBERTY, IF NOT ALREADY ANNIHILATED, IS ON THE BRINK OF DESTRUCTION”.

    Clause 15: “To provide for calling forth the MILITIA to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel invasions.“

    It is the MILITIA that has as its constitutionally assigned duties to:
    — Enforce the US Constitution and each state’s Constitution,
    — Enforce and keep the “Laws of the Union” (which are constitutional laws ONLY),
    — Protect the country against all enemies both domestic and foreign, and
    — “to suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions”.

    Richard Henry Lee, First Senate: “To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them.”

    Rep. Elbridge Gerry of Massachusetts: “What, Sir, is the use of a militia? It is to prevent the establishment of a standing army, the bane of liberty… Whenever Governments mean to invade the rights and liberties of the people, they always attempt to destroy the militia, in order to raise an army upon their ruins.” (floor debate over the 2nd Amendment, I Annals of Congress)

    Joseph Story: “One of the ordinary modes, by which tyrants accomplish their purposes without resistance, is, by disarming the people, and making it an offence to keep arms, and by substituting a regular army in the stead of a resort to the militia. The friends of a free government cannot be too watchful, to overcome the dangerous tendency of the public mind to sacrifice, for the sake of mere private convenience, this powerful check upon the designs of ambitious men”. (“Familiar Exposition of the Constitution of the United States” (1840))

    George Washington: “It may be laid down, as a primary position, AND THE BASIS OF OUR SYSTEM, that every citizen who enjoys the protection of a free government…, but even of his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency.” (“Sentiments on a Peace Establishment”, letter to Alexander Hamilton; “The Writings of George Washington”)

    Richard Henry Lee, “Additional Letters from the Federal Farmer”, 1788, at 169: “A militia, when properly formed, are in fact the people themselves…and include all men capable of bearing arms.”

    George Mason, 3 Elliot, Debates at 425-426: “I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for few public officials.”

    WE will NEVER get our nation back until you (generic “you”) understand that we MUST follow the US Constitution, keep our Oaths to it. It is why we used to be free. But it did not take many decades for the police to be corrupted, not the military to be corrupted because NONE of them keep their Oath.

    But IF you (generic “you”) want to own property, cars, even cell phones, choose your own clothes, job, etc then the choice must be the US Constitution; and the same if you want the same for your children. If none of those things matter to you but doing what you are ordered to do INSTEAD of following and keeping the Oath to SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE US CONSTITUTION is more important, then continue on not saying “NO” to unlawful orders. Continue to serve in a unlawful military that fights unlawful wars that was NOT congressionally declared just because you (generic “you”) are too lazy or dumbed down to READ the US Constitution that REQUIRED to be Oath bound to, or NOTHING you do is lawful here in the USA, but does assist in its destruction.

    Thomas Jefferson: “I have ever deemed it fundamental for the United States never to take active part in the quarrels of Europe. Their political interests are entirely distinct from ours. Their mutual jealousies, their balance of power, their complicated alliances, their forms and principles of government, are all foreign to us. They are nations of eternal war. “

    John Quincy Adams: “America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She well knows that by enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standards of freedom.”

    George Washington: “It is our true policy to steer clear of entangling alliances with any portion of the foreign world. The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is, in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible.”

    Why do you think those things were taken out of education? That propaganda is everywhere, along with subliminals?

    BTW, the duties that those who serve within the state and federal governments have TO THE Militias is found in Clause 16.

    Clause 16: “To provide for organizing, arming and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress”.
