With Trust in Media at New Low, Establishment Tries to Shut Out Alternatives

(Cox & Forkum editorial cartoons)

“What worries me the most about fake news, isn’t that it’s fake, it’s that it’s being used by the left to try to silence opposing views,” a column in The Washington Times notes. “Take for example a story reported by the Los Angeles Times that included a professor who put together a Google document of ‘false, misleading, clickbait-y and satirical ‘news sources’’ to help people ‘cleanse their newsfeeds of misinformation.’ The only problem with the list, was it included real news sites of which the professor simply didn’t agree.”

Unsurprisingly, the professor turned out to be a defender of the “progressive” faith, with limited teaching experience, personal qualifications limited to academia, and no objective criteria to apply to all reporting, regardless of perceived organizational ideology. So naturally, the “fake” news was limited to “conservative” outlets, and just as naturally, the “mainstream media” did its part to act as amplifier for spreading that narrative. And to seal the deal, Google and Facebook announced they will ban “fake sites” from using their online advertising services, that is, to spread the word on stories the establishment press won’t touch.

That’s a sensitive subject for me. See for yourself how much reporting was done on Operation Fast and Furious “gunwalking” before the mainstreamers even touched it. And after it finally surfaced out of the blogosphere, see how many still either ignored it or tried to dismiss it as “rightwing conspiracy theory.” That’s the narrative most Americans have been – and will continue to be – exposed to. Meanwhile, the death toll rises and those responsible continue to escape accountability.

We could all cite examples of media ignorance or outright lies about guns, about the cultural terraforming of the republic via “immigration” and “refugees,” about Oath Keepers being an “anti-government militia”… and the only truth comes from the very sources now being dismissed as “fake.” The apparatchiks have projection down to an art, with most not being able to see through it. It’s hardly a secret to “flyover” America why trust in the media is at an all time low.

That just means it’s time to double down, with a new accusation that the sites identified as “fake” are also useful idiot pawns of the Russkis, either willingly or witlessly spreading disinformation. And of course there’s no real evidence for that, but that’s OK, since the goal was just to put the headline smear out there and let mass gullibility and kneejerk mob mentality do the rest. It’s the same “rationale” being employed to demand a recount of the presidential election, because the Russians “might” or “could have” hacked into things – with no evidence that they actually did.

What we’re seeing is a pincer moved, with the “left” pushing the “fake news” line and this new group pushing the “Russian dupe” meme. Something’s bound to stick.

And who is in that new group?

One of the main players, PropOrNot, ain’t saying.  Who they are, where they get their money and if they have an unstated agenda is left an intentional enigma. Fortunately, their “partner” is better known, and it’s not hard to know what the über-connected Foreign Policy Research Institute’s motives might be after noting all their shared and lucrative globalist, neocon, chicken hawk incentives.

It’s hardly strange FPRI would join with “progressive” corporate media to stifle alternative information competition. Insider and Bill Clinton influence Carroll Quigley knew what that was all about:

“The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can ‘throw the rascals out’ at any election without leading to any profound or extensive shifts in policy.”

How many of you reading this knew that Saturday was Holodomor Remembrance Day? How many even know what that’s about?

The Holodomor (Ukrainian: Голодомо́р, “Extermination by hunger” or “Hunger-extermination”; derived from морити голодом, “to kill by starvation”), also known as the Terror-Famine and Famine-Genocide in Ukraine, and—before the widespread use of the term “Holodomor,” as well as currently still—referred to also as the Great Famine, and The Ukrainian Genocide of 1932–33[10] was a man-made famine in Ukraine in 1932 and 1933 that killed an estimated 2.5–7.5 million Ukrainians, with millions more counted in demographic estimates. It was part of the wider disaster, the Soviet famine of 1932–33, which affected the major grain-producing areas of the country.

What does that have to do with “fake” and “Russian-manipulated” news? As with all things “progressive,” every day is Opposite Day, and there’s a whole lotta projection going on.

Walter Duranty, the head of The New York Times’ Moscow bureau, won the damn Pulitzer Prize while acting as “Stalin’s Apologist,” denying the genocide and abetting the official cover-up. He was the soulless creature who excused Stalin’s totalitarian monstrous crimes with the flippant quip “You can’t make an omelets without breaking eggs.”

These are the people claiming the mantle of legitimacy who would monopolize the public discourse and exclude all others.

So what can be done? It’s one thing to complain about it here, but isn’t that just preaching to the choir?

Not necessarily. The choir is comprised of the folks up there doing something, taking it upon themselves to stand up front, putting in the time and work to rehearse, to practice, and to perform. Those merely listening and not helping don’t qualify.

It’s unlikely we will ever have the reach to override the mass media narrative, but noting change comes from committed minorities, that’s OK.  We can take it on ourselves to build on that by being force multipliers, and by sharing links to information that will never be covered by the “Authorized Journalists” (or if it is, it will be distorted to disparage patriots and to stump for more government controls).

Everyone here could be sharing links to Oath Keepers articles and alerts on a regular basis. It can be done easily, and in a matter of a minute or two, max. If you don’t, how else do you expect the truth to get out?

  1. 1. The media is truly working against America. They don’t want to report what is actually going on
    2. They are nol going to stop until someone, somehow is able to force them to stop
    3. Is it time for action against them? Is it revolution yet?
They started this. They are against America and in favor of the ONE WORLD ORDER elite. And they have no reason to change.

  2. As the pedophile scandal grows and the desperate attempt by mainstream media to cover-up the Clinton’s connection to child rapist and convicted Jeffrey Epstein takes a backseat to law and order, the American people are being white-washed of the facts by a corrupt and controlled media.

WikiLeaks continues to release thousands of emails the Clinton’s do not want anyone to see…therefore, “Operation Mockingbird” is back again to control what America is suppose to believe and that belief is to brainwash the public into thinking, mainstream media “will always reveal and debunk false news reports,” in particular….Drudge, Breitbart and InfoWars.

This new paradigm of “False News” narratives follows the recent leak of emails showing a connection between Bill and Hillary Clinton to Epstein’s “Lolita Express” pedophile / sex slave flights to Epstein’s private island, east of Puerto Rico in the Virgin Islands.

“Little St. James” is a 72 acre island with a heliport and 5 large cottages purported to be for special guests, government dignitaries, movies stars, and pedophiles. When real business of discussing “scientific and medical research” is completed, the curtains are drawn back and a number of under age prostitutes emerge to service the visitors.

Lawsuits by a minimum of 40 women, many under age, filed a $50 million dollars lawsuit against Epstein during 2008, following a 11 month undercover operation by law enforcement in 2005, which Epstein served a 13 month prison term for raping a 13 year old girl on his island.

As a New York billionaire, Jeffery Epstein is known to be a friend of Donald Trump, but it’s not certain if Trump flew on Epstein’s B-727 as a guest.

However, emails released show Bill Clinton visiting the island 26 times and Hillary 6 times.

The latest “Pizzagate” scandal tells a far more disturbing story behind “Little St James a.k.a. Orgy Island.”

Damage control by both media and the Clintons has Google Search Engines creatively showing the billionaire’s private island as a paradise for families.

FAKE NEWS is alive and well at CNN and all the alphabet networks, while NEW NEWS is fighting to bring you the truth.

  3. of course they will go after those of us telling the truth about their satanic actions, they don’t want the general public knowing the truth and deciding leftwing now policies are dangerous to liberty

  4. I am a card carrying Oathkeeper, and Veteran…..people are divided in their “opinion” of us. We must do waaay more than “sharing articles”….EVERYONE and his brother does that….we MUST show up at events….hold events…..assist, training, teach, get out in the public, be known….hell….I’d go for oathkeeper bingo, if I knew it would help. We must “shine up” our tarnished image. EVERYONE is putting out the “truth”……oathkeepers must take it ONE step further………………Ole Vet…
