Report: Father of Alleged Palm Springs Shooter Warned Son Wanted to Kill Cops

palm-springsNOTE FROM STEWART:

Two more officers down, in a senseless shooting. The constant drum-beat of anti-cop rhetoric coming out of Soros funded leftist groups, such as “protest leaders” leading chants of “pigs in a blanket, fry em like bacon!” has real, deadly consequences. We are now seeing a wave of attacks on police, and murder of police officers, that is reminiscent of the Weather Underground bombing and sniper attacks on police in the 1970s.

Unfortunately, I believe this is just the beginning, and it will get far worse. It is critical that we military and police veterans in Oath Keepers continue to step up and offer our assistance to our local police, and pledge to stand with them against the cop killers, under our Operation Backstop, and also offer protection to their families as part of our Family Safe Program.

So long as the police honor their oaths by respecting the Constitution, we need to honor ours by backing them up 100% and then some, as many of our chapters across the nation have already done in the wake of the Dallas and Baton Rogue terror attacks on police.

Let’s unite the American warrior class (police, military, other first responders, and gun owners), and resist the ongoing leftist campaign to try to pit the people against the police, and the police against the people (and especially their campaign to try to convince the police that military veterans are somehow a “threat” to police, when in fact they are their best allies). And let’s also resist the obvious leftist, Soros funded campaign to divide and conquer the American people along racial lines. We are all in this together. Let’s not forget that. – Stewart Rhodes, Founder and President of Oath Keepers

The father of alleged Palm Springs shooter John Felix ran to a neighbor’s house and warned that his son wanted to kill cops just prior to three Palm Springs officers being shot.

Two of those officers, Jose Gilbert Vega and Lesley Zerebny, were killed.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Felix is a 26-year-old man who allegedly opened fire on three officers responding to a “family disturbance” call.

Frances Serrano lives in a neighboring home and she said Felix’s father came over just before the shooting, frantically seeking help. She said Felix’s dad said, “Help. I need help. My son is in the house, and he’s crazy. He has a gun. He’s ready to shoot all the police.’”

Serrano said Felix’s father “was very nervous” and “afraid of his son.”

Serrano responded by placing a 911 call. Minutes later, she heard gun shots.

Fox News quoted Palm Springs police chief Bryan Reyes saying, “It was a simple family disturbance and he elected to open fire on a few of the guardians of the city… Palm Springs lost two brave officers… I am awake in a nightmare right now.”

Reyes said the three officers were “standing near the front door” talking to Felix when the shooting occurred. He said the officers were “trying to negotiate with the suspect to just comply,” when he allegedly shot them.
