Stone: Snowden

Oliver Stone has done three movies which affected me in serious ways — Platoon; JFK; and Heaven And Earth.

I am anticipating that his latest, Snowden, will also move me, so I’m excited to see it.  Yahoo has an article up right now which I would like to share here. The official trailer is below.

Excerpts:

Toronto (Canada) (AFP) – Patriot, dissident or traitor? A new film by anti-establishment director Oliver Stone starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt as NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden asks audiences to weigh in.

Stone — who has unveiled his espionage thriller biopic about the largest data leak in US history at the Toronto film festival — called Saturday on US President Barack Obama to pardon Snowden before the end of his term.

“Mr. Obama could pardon him and we hope so,” Stone told reporters at the festival, the largest in North America and a launch pad for Oscar contenders.

“We hope that Mr. Obama has a stroke of lightning and he sees the way, despite the fact that he’s prosecuted vigorously eight whistleblowers under the Espionage Act, which is an all-time record in American history, (and he’s created) the most extensive invasive surveillance state that ever existed.”

  1. “Whistleblowers” are people who have the courage to keep their Oath – if one is taken by them, or to not betray their own moral and honor structure and inform us, “We the people of the united States of America” about the illegal, criminal, and at times treasonous actions of those who serve within our governments – be they elected, hired, contracted, etc They are the people who let us know about the criminal and at times treasonous actions of those who work within the “too big to fail” corporations, banks, etc . They “blow the whistle” on criminal activity within large organizations that have the capability, and often the will to injure, kill, etc a large amount of people.

When it is a “common” person they are called a “witness”, one who personally witnessed the crime(s) and should be PROTECTED.

The only real difference between them is we allow those that SERVE WITHIN our governments, or the large corporations, or the banks to literally get by with criminal activity, lies deaths, injuries willingly and deliberately caused to a greater amount of people – usually for money and/or power. (MY definition)

Snowden revealed much and the American people are apathetic and do nothing. Much like those kids that stood up, answered the question asked and did nothing while shot.

We allow treason, we ignore it as if it never happened when we know it did. We daily/weekly ignore First Degree Murder because a presidential impersonator gave himself the authority to kill anyone he wants. We ignore… WE do not bother to start removing judges that no longer – if they ever did – belong in that position. We ignore murders, theft of land, water, etc because they pretend to be in our government or are in corporations.

One of the worst, is we ignore those who serve within our military who are incarcerated for KEEPING their Oath to the US Constitution, basically to us, our nation. Because without them, without that Oath, that Constitution, there IS NO LONGER any USA.

    1. Sorry, this sentence, “When it is a “common” person they are called a “witness”, one who personally witnessed the crime(s) and should be PROTECTED.”

Should be, ‘When it is a “common” person they are called a “witness”, one who personally witnessed the crime(s) and both should be PROTECTED.”

  2. If this is a movie that may wake up some sleeping giants, I am gung ho for it,but my big question is why would the Hollywood global elitists allow this kind of movie to go prime time? I don’t get it.

  3. For those commenters who are saying Snowden broke an oath, he broke no oath for there was no oath to give any more. The oath was broken by the subversives who have co-opted the Republic.

The Rule of Law is gone, and the Constitution is considered a quaint remnant of our less “progressive” past. There can be no oath with traitors.
