    With all due respect, and I mean that. You have been very tolerant of me as a non member/member. It really isn’t Obama we have to blame, it is WE.Obama is a puppet as well as all other world leaders that have oppressed God’s people.
    I just the other day finished reading the book of Judges in the Holy Bible and the same thing is happening to us now. God’s people sinned, that is Israel, God was long suffering and he cut them some slack, but finally judgment fell. Now this same thing happened over and over again through out the book of judges.Israel and the U.S. have one big thing in common, we are both countries that have a covenant with God. Think about George Washington kneeling down at the little church that still stands right next to ground zero (kind a spooky huh) where He asked for God’s blessing and His mercy on our country. And before him it was Plymouth Rock etc.Now I can’t remember who said, that the Constitution was only for a religious and moral people, does that sound like the America that you and I were kids in or more like the present situation?
    Shorty I don’t know if you are a born again Christian or not, if not I truly would urge you to get saved and get right with God.
    We as a people have fallen so far and all we can do is repent and get right with God. When the day of battle does come I don’t know about you, but I am going to be praying all the way.

    1. Charlie Brown the United States is not, never was, and never will be a nation of Christianity. The term ” under god” was not added to the pledge of allegiance until the 50s. To say the United States is a Christian nation that has a pact with god it not only false but makes you fundamentally no different than a jihadist.

      1. Actually, the US Constitution was based on the teachings of Jesus Christ, not just taken or blocked from lessons learned from known history (at the time), and that learned from the American tribes.

        If you read the Tenth Amendment and notice that within is found the words: “…or to the people” though it could have been worded and many people behave as if it was worded: “…and to the people” instead. The term “…or to the people”, more specifically the choice of the word “or” as the proper word for that place in the wording of the Amendment instead of “and’ is hugely indicative of the ultimate source of sovereignty. On this earth, which would be “We The People”. But where did/how did the the individual become the source of all sovereignty according to the framers and forefathers? That sovereignty was granted them/us by Nature/Nature’s God.

        God was much a part of the founding of this nation, but the founders knew what always happened when a “religion” was forced upon the people by the “government”, and they did NOT want that to happen here. So though the USA was/is founded as Christian nation, it does not forbid other religions here, but encourages them as the framers expected that if our Christ based heritage stayed true to itself and could meet the needs of all, then the rest would come to it on their own. No force needed or wanted here in America – either to force a relgion or to force the non belief of one.

        Patrick Henry: “It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.”

        Thomas Jefferson: “Our rulers can have no authority over natural rights, only as we have submitted to them. The rights of conscience we never submitted. We are answerable for them to our God. The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as injurious to others.”

      2. Benjamin Franklin depicts God’s (the Christian God) role in the revolution in his design for the Great Seal of the United States. Circling an image of Moses parting the Red Sea and leading the Israelites out of Egypt is the inscription, “Rebellion to Tyrants is Obedience to God.” Cast in 1752 in Philadelphia, the Liberty Bell bears the words of Lev. 25:10, “Proclaim liberty throughout the land unto all inhabitants thereof.” And the opening lines of the Declaration of Independence cite God as the author of the quest for freedom: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

        Now, as noted by factual history, if in the 18th century the overwhelming 80%+ majority of pilgrim settlers to the new world are in one way or another of Christian faith, that would make it a place of Christians. Just as we refer a nation of a majority of muslim believers a state of islam.

        Because the nations of Europe ruled by the Church of England, and/or Roman Catholics etc, the citizenry was hungry to live free of the rule of a church or faith that was not of their own belief. Holding great respect for this, the founding fathers deliberately crafted the constitution so as to not create a church state. In otherwords, the muslim, or Christian or atheist in the white house could not use the doctrinal law of the church as to dictate to the citizenry. Thus separation of church and state. And with that in mind, it was deliberately stated in the treaty of Tripoli we, the USA, are making this treaty as a nation, not as a religion. “As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion,—as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen [Muslims],—and as the said States never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan [Mohammedan] nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.”

        However, there is a caveat, Any nation whose commerce is attacked would in right defend itself, and in contrast, it was the muslim states who attacked our merchant ships and it was our new nation whose marines defeated the muslims. Thus the USMC hymn. Of course the majority of USA citizens were Christians and were not going to tolerate the state nation of islam to continue to harass our commerce on the high seas.

    2. Charlie BROWN is right.

      In his written decision on the case “The Church of the Holy Trinity vs. United States,” which was decided by the U. S. Supreme Court, Justice David Brewster stated that America is a “Christian nation.”
      In his book, “The United States a Christian Nation,” page 46, Justice Brewster summarized, after giving the historical evidence, “By these and other evidences I claim to have shown that the calling of this republic a Christian nation is not a mere pretence but a recognition of an historical, legal and social truth.”
      Indeed: “I believe the fate of a republican government is indissolubly bound up with the fate of the Christian religion; and that a people who reject its holy faith will find themselves the slaves of their own evil passion” (Lewis Cass, Secretary of State, from 1857-1860, under President Buchanan).
      John Adams, one of our Founding Fathers, once stated truthfully: “We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Greed, ambition, revenge, or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.”
      Read that last statement of his again: “Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” This statement had implications. It contained certain conditions. Thus, for instance, when patriot Americans would want our government today to return to the constitutional republic which it once was, they must face the fact that it simply could not be done until the American people themselves would return to being a moral and a religious people.
      Yet there is no spiritual will on the part of the vast majority of Americans to return to God; to return to being a Christian nation once more. Indeed, there is a
      marked revulsion and a studied hatred to the whole idea. Thus our original constitutional republic “is wholly inadequate to the” governing of the current citizenry because they emphatically and willfully insist on being an immoral and an irreligious people.

      This unbelief is America’s great problem; that is, an unbelief in God’s gracious, soul-saving gospel – the only thing that will rescue the sinner from the Judgment Day to come. To be sure, the Lord already has declared that he will be patient with mankind’s sins as long as men would repent of them and believe in his gospel pledge that Jesus’ saving blood has covered us with sin-removing pardon.
      So then, what is going on currently in America? This country has joined just now the long list of nations throughout history that have gone through this terrible cycle: a rise and fall of a gospel golden age. In other words, God will bring his merciful gospel pledge to a land, move the inhabitants to believe it, and also bless them materially with civil peace and prosperity. Yet, usually by the third generation, citizens will begin to detest the gospel, and reject it. Thus this is where we are now: this country has “fallen away” from the gospel. It has “backslid” and become “unfaithful,” as the Word of God puts it. Oh, yes, there still are some churches in it with a sense of spirituality about them, but not the kind which the Bible clearly outlines for genuine repentance and saving faith.
      How has this gospel-rejection played out in this country? Just read about all of the dire news on this blog site alone! In fact, do you really like living in all of this misery? Yet this is what life commonly is like in a typical heathen, gospel-void society.
      Hence in the throes of all of this misery, America desperately could and should be asking Gideon’s question: “If the Lord would be with us, then why has all of this happened to us?” (Judges 6:13.) The answer is simple: The Lord is not with us. Since we have rejected him, he has rejected us. Namely, the Almighty, who is in control of men and of their events, as Gideon implied (1st Corinthians 12:6; Psalm 127:1; Amos 3:6; Isaiah 10:15), is punishing us as an irate father by sending us bad government, bad police, bad citizens, bad justice, bad economics, bad weather, for example, just as he biblically has threatened he would do, in order to get us to return to his good graces by repenting of our sins, and by believing his gospel promise.
      Nevertheless, what more would it take? How long will America hold out?
      Remember, “the Lord is a man of war” (Exodus 15:3)! His guiding policy is: “All nations that forget God shall be turned into hell” (Psalm 9:17). His last resort, after seeing that his previous minor punishments have not caused any nation-wide repentance, is to bring on a most severe, devastating war of punishment on that country.
      Gentlemen, this spiritual issue must be addressed, for our underlying problem is spiritual. I did not deduce that, God has stated it. Our political problem is just a symptom.
      Remember: God is in control of what is happening. We need to get on his side if we would want things to change. May we all do so!

      1. Both of you are fundamentally no different then jihadists. No we’re in the constitution does it state the religious belief of an entire nation. Therefore both of you are wrong because the ruling of a confused justice is not the law of the land. But then again neither is the constitution apparently.

      2. @ Jeff : Jihad is a muslim term to rage war on infidels. as in infidelis unbelieving, from Latin, unfaithful to Islam. Therefore, to call a believer of the Christian faith a jihad is not in context with Christian Gospel. Christians by definition cannot be engaged in jihad. As Cal states, our constitution is based on the law of Moses, the Pentateuch which is the basis of natural law, the Jewish foundation of Christianity. That is a fact, not an opinion. If your opinion is otherwise, then you are unable to recognize facts.

        Additionally, I would suggest considering what the world would be had the Christians not converted the Roman Empire, and fled Europe to the New World and created a nation founded by those same Godly Christians. Or maybe the Muslims who had initiated a war on all other infidels had won their conquest to rule the planet. Maybe we would all be speaking Chinese, or Russian, or Arabic and wearing rag sheets, walking barefoot, riding bicycles and camels, and scratching the earth for our next meal. Careful where you cast your stones.

        You’ll notice that “God” is capitalized and those who took the oath to our constitution took that oath under “So help me God” and in doing so makes it a prayer to God. The Christian God. Not Buddha, or Allah, or Ra or Itazmn or the hundred gods of the Chinese.

    We vets are a shrinking group; we vets that stand unabashed by the left and firm to our oath are an even smaller group. Our voice must be loud and perpetual.
