NDAA 2017 Includes Draft for Women, Indefinite Detention of American Citizens

Statist Heydaze: NDAA 2017

Hell, let’s draft the women and arrest anyone we want to get rid of, because we can. We can, because the people refuse to stop us. They are afraid to oppose us because to oppose us places them on “lists”. Lists designate enemies of the government. That designation qualifies one to be detained under the NDAA. That is how it works. That is why it’s in our Congress right now.

So it appears that the government would now own women as equally as it purports to own men, and now it seems that both men and women are subject to indefinite detention without charge or jury trial. That is the final writing on the Wall. The government is declaring, without saying it in specific terms, that the government owns us all. Should that bother us?

Most intelligent beings understand that the definition of slavery includes any scenario in which something or someone external to one’s own mind, body, and soul, owns one. When something or someone owns anyone, that ownership can be, and usually is, manifest in the ability to control one. Slavery is a captive’s subjugation under the authority of an owner, one’s controller, one’s “ruler”. Always remember this — self-ownership is the opposite of slavery. When a government asserts some fictitious authority to force a citizen into service in the government’s military adventures, that government is asserting its ownership over the citizen. Again I repeat — self-ownership is the opposite of slavery.

But why am I going on about self-ownership vs government ownership of its citizens?  It is because our fearless leaders in WDC are once again slipping it to the American people with the latest wax job on the NDAA.  Here is the article from Activist Post, sent in to me by Kirk McKenzie of Defend Rural America. Read it and weep, and ask oneself after reading, this

“Do I,  can I,  shouldn’t I,  own myself?”

NDAA 2017 Includes Draft for Women, Indefinite Detention of American Citizens

This article was published at Activist Post on June 16 2016 by  Derrick Broze

The U.S. Congress has passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2017 with provisions that will force women to sign up for potential military draft and continues the practice of indefinite detention.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Senate approved a $602 billion annual defense budget that President Obama has promised to veto because the bill does not allow for the closing of the military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Senate Bill 2943, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017, passed with a vote of 85 Senators in favor and 13 against.

Before the vote, Senator John McCain tweeted that “It’s never been more urgent to give our troops the resources they need to succeed.” The majority of Congress have no issue taking money from the American people and redistributing it to fund their empire. The conflict arises when lawmakers begin debating whose pet projects are going to get a boost. The major conflicts in passing the bill stemmed from various amendments dealing with how the military budget will be spent.

One issue the entire Congress seemed to agree on was voting against closing military bases around the world. While the Pentagon called for budget cuts stating that the military has more space than they need, Congress refused to go along with the cuts. “Besides, several lawmakers have argued that the Pentagon has cooked the books to justify its conclusions or at least didn’t do the math completely,” the Associated Press reports. The Senate also voted against an amendment to close the infamous military detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Another contentious area of debate was the mandate to force women who turn 18 on or after Jan. 1, 2018 to register for Selective Service. Males are already required register within 30 days of their 18th birthday. The United States has maintained a volunteer military force since 1973, but through Selective Service the military could reinstate a draft and call upon registered males and females. Those who do not register could face up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, although the penalty has rarely been enforced.

The most horrendous part of the NDAA 2017 is that that the annual military budget continues to include a provision which allows for indefinite detention of American citizens without a right to trial. Many of you may remember that President Obama had no problem signing the NDAA 2012 in 2011, which legalized the indefinite detention of American citizens suspected of ties to terrorism. The indefinite detention provision is still contained in the NDAA, and has been approved by Congress and signed by President Obama every year since it first passed.

On Thursday June 9, Senators Mike Lee of Utah, Rand Paul of Kentucky, and Dianne Feinstein of California spoke on the floor of the Senate in support of an amendment bill which would have removed the indefinite detention clause from NDAA 2017 and offered protections to American citizens weary of a federal government with too much power. The “Due Process Guarantee Amendment to the NDAA for Fiscal Year 2017” would have clarified “that an authorization to use military force, a declaration of war, or any similar authority shall not authorize the detention without charge or trial of a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States.”

[ot-video type=”youtube” url=””]

“This amendment addresses a little known problem that I believe most Americans would be shocked to discover even exists,” Senator Mike Lee said from the floor of the U.S. Senate. “Under current law, the federal government has proclaimed the power, has arrogated to itself the power to detain indefinitely without charge or trial U.S. Citizens and lawful permanent residents who are apprehended on American soil. Let that sink in for just a minute.” Senator Lee also reminded the Congress that the last time the U.S. federal government detained Americans was the internment of Japanese Americans during the Second World War.

Senator Rand Paul noted that President Obama recognized the danger of granting the federal government the power to indefinitely detain Americans. Upon signing the bill in 2011 President Obama added a signing statement promising not to use the power. “He said, this is a terrible power and I promise never to use it. Any president who says a power is so terrible he’s not going to use it should not be on the books,” Paul stated. “Someday there will be someone in charge of the government that makes a grievous mistake, like rounding up the Japanese. So we have to be very, very careful about giving power to our government.”

Senator Feinstein, Paul, and Lee attempted to pass an earlier version of this amendment in the 2012 before the amendment was taken out of the NDAA. The dangerous language within the NDAA comes from Sections 1021 and 1022, which include language that allows the government to detain anyone so charged “without trial until the end of the hostilities.” Thankfully, localities and states like Virginia are fighting back against the NDAA’s indefinite detention clause.

Unfortunately, the federal government will continue to have the ability to indefinitely detain American citizens. This is especially worrisome going into 2017 when a new president, one who hasn’t promised not to detain you, will be claiming the Oval Office. What will he or she do with the power to indefinitely detain Americans? Only time will tell.

  1. Our great nation has many enemies. These enemies are both foreign and domestic. These enemies will lie, cheat and steal to destroy the Founder’s Republic in their effort to instill tyranny. They do not only want control, they want our freedom. They have no honor. We all know who they are. They promise us safety in exchange for our freedoms. In reality they are tyrants. They are no different from any other great historical tyrants of past generations. They use deceit and rely on cowards representing the people to achieve their goals. They are Republican and Democrat. They have invaded our businesses, religions, news media and entertainment industries. They praise leaders like Che Guevara, Mao, and Marx. The lionize murderers like Assata Shakur. They excuse the deviant actions of those they control. They malign and prosecute those that resist their control. The upcoming elections cannot save the republic. Restoration will take personal sacrifice and disciple. Should Hillary Clinton be elected President, many patriots believe this may be our last election. In many ways, the process of elections has enabled the tyrants to take hold. Just like the limited self-rule afforded to the colonists, it pacified those who chose to go-along to get-along. Our news media has been fully corrupted by these tyrants, just like Hitler’s propaganda machine.

250 Years ago, ten years before the Declaration of Independence, the founders of our nation commenced their rebellion with the following pact between the families that would later command the forces of the Continental Army in the revolutionary war against Britain. The document was written by Richard Henry Lee and signed by an illustrious list of patriot families: Read Article Six carefully and let the words sink in.

“Roused by danger and alarmed at attempts, foreign and domestic, to reduce the people of this country to a state of abject and detestable slavery by destroying that free and happy condition of government under which they have hitherto lived,

We, who subscribe this paper, have associated and do bind ourselves to each other, to God, and to our country, by the firmest ties that religion and virtue can frame, most sacredly and punctually to stand by and with our lives and fortunes, to support, maintain, and defend each other in the observance and execution of these following articles –

FIRST: We declare all due allegiance and obedience to our lawful Sovereign, George the Third, King of Great Britain. And we determine to the utmost of our power to preserve the laws, the peace and good order of this Colony, as far as is consistent with the preservation of our Constitutional rights and liberty,

SECONDLY: As we know it to be the Birthright privilege of every British subject (and of the people of Virginia as being such) founded on Reason, Law, and Compact; that he cannot be legally tried, but by his peers; that he cannot be taxed, but by consent of a Parliament, in which he is represented by persons chosen by the people, and who themselves pay a part of the tax they impose on others. If, therefore, any person or persons shall attempt, by any action, or proceeding, to deprive this Colony of these fundamental rights, we will immediately regard him or them, as the most dangerous enemy of the community; and we will go to any extremity, not only to prevent the success of such attempts, but to stigmatize and punish the offender.

THIRDLY: As the Stamp Act does absolutely direct the property of the people to be taken from them without their consent expressed by their representatives and as in many cases it deprives the British American Subject of his right to trial by jury; we do determine, at every hazard, and paying no regard to danger or to death, we will exert every faculty, to prevent the execution of the said Stamp Act in any instance whatsoever within this Colony. And every abandoned wretch, who shall be so lost to virtue and public good, as wickedly to contribute to the introduction or fixture of the Stamp Act in this Colony, by using stampt paper, or by any other means, we will, with the utmost expedition, convince all such profligates that immediate danger and disgrace shall attend their prostitute purposes.
FOURTHLY: That the last article may most surely and effectually be executed, we engage to each other, that whenever it shall be known to any of this association, that any person is so conducting himself as to favor the introduction of the Stamp Act, that immediate notice shall be given to as many of the association as possible; and that every individual so informed, shall, with expedition, repair to a place of meeting to be appointed as near the scene of action as may be.
FIFTHLY: Each associator shall do his true endeavor to obtain as many signers to this association, as he possibly can.

SIXTHLY: If any attempt shall be made on the liberty or property of any associator for any action or thing to be done in consequence of this agreement, we do most solemnly bind ourselves by the sacred engagements above entered into, at the risk of our lives and fortunes, to restore such associate to his liberty and to protect him in the enjoyment of his property.

In testimony of the good faith with which we resolve to execute this association we have this 27th day of February 1766 in Virginia, put our hands and seals hereto.”

The truly difficult work of saving our country is at our doorstep. I pray there are enough good men and women that will run to the sites of conflict. Our nation will not be saved without significant personal sacrifice and discipline. If you elect not to participate, please remain silent. Silence is what got us here to begin with. Don’t make noise. Sit in your most comfortable chair. Watch FoxNews. Fall asleep and know that the dreams of your children may never be realized should you fail to honor your oath.

    1. NJ, all true enough. But unfortunately our government has morphed into our oppressor and our worse enemy. It is now a beast that has grown far too big and far to oppressive and domineering in every aspect of our lives. Our current form of government is little more than a giant criminal enterprise with the corporatocracy they have created, also known as cronyism. As well our military and security agencies have betrayed all of us and the brass have gone along with all of it in the form of PC run amok !. You are speaking about what used to be, and that was lost a long tome ago, 10 years or more. BHO and crew have simply put it all on steroids because the GOP created the opportunity to do so back in 2007-08.

The NDAA was an atrocity the day it was enacted and has only grown stronger and more pervasive because of fear. The American people are being brainwashed and manipulated and all of the attacks inside CONTUS have one common thread that is obvious. 9/11, Boston/ Riverside, Ft Hood, and Orlando were all known before hand by our supposed super spy agencies and some of the perps were even interrogated. Recent evidence should show us all that our government is deliberately setting us up.
We are all being setup by our own government for chaos.
Realize this is the kind of stuff your tax dollars are being used for ? These maniacs use your tax dollars against you in a myriad of ways 24/7/365 ! So yes you are paying to get effed daily in a myriad of ways !

It is critical that we unite and get cohesive. I urge everyone who has taken their oath and all others willing to get fit, healthy, well trained out and get involved ! Not just time on the keyboard, but physically and directly ASAP ! We all have been betrayed and a plan is already in motion to harm you ! Many of those in the agencies and others will not even realize what fools they are and will act with the control freaks to take away more of your liberties and any resemblance of freedom left her in USSA today !

  2. A couple thoughts emerge; the gals want equality regarding benefits and privileges but I never hear/read anything regarding equal responsibilities. Sure, draft the gals but place them in support positions to back the warriors engaging a REAL enemy… an attacker… not just a foreign impediment to corporate/business interests lusting for power/profit in foreign lands (Read War Is A Racket, by Major General Smedley Butler).

How about the ongoing invasion of the USA by multi-millions of invaders. The Web is full of horror stories of citizens physically and/or economically harmed by rampaging barbarian illegals. It is common folks typically harmed. If a few hundred or more of the elite class were being savagely murdered or their children raped by illegals I believe that a border clamp-down would have occurred long ago.

Sadly, many tyrants and their politician lackeys either ignore or promote the invasion. These are acts of treason. Why are traitors allowed to continue spitting upon We, the people of the USA? I have a guess; the tidal wave of invaders assists tyrants in lording over the masses. The diversity and multiculturalism used to divide and conquer We, the People is assisted by the presence of mega-millions of foreign invaders. Observe the recent actions of Mexico flag-bearing beasts and other scofflaw Leftists pummeling Trump rally attendees. Where are the Trump supporters assaulting those hooligans at the Clinton and Sanders rallies?

There is much wrong in the USA today and things are getting worse for many of us, especially us folks in the working-poor socioeconomic group. Our numbers are growing as corporate profits rise and those atop the socioeconomic pile watch their share of the national wealth grow to huge amounts never seen before and likely never envisioned by the Founders.

Something stinks inside the USA and I fear that meaningful change via a corrupted, infiltrated-by-tyrants political system is impossible for various reasons.

Though I hunger for peaceful resolution of what I label an ongoing class war that the masses of common folks is losing I often wonder if the only resolution available is through revolution… as mentioned by the Founders and other learned folks aware of how greedy power-hungry tyrants operate.

  3. The New York Times just wrote an article that juxtaposed “Fear and Control of Domestic Violence” with “the Orlando Mass Shooter.” In years past I had Twittered and Facebooked that our present Government has the same relationship with the Body Polis that a Habitual Domestic Violent individual has with their victim.

So yesterday, I took out my pocket composition book and seriously juxtaposed DV V. Progressive Government. It is eerily similar. Think about the hallmarks of what we know the Domestic Abuser uses to Control the Victim; Isolation, Fear, Transformation of Friend Base, Emotional Connection, Stalking, Physical Abuse, etc. Before I knew it I had about 10 pages jotted down, with exact examples of the Government being a Domestic Abuser. What’s even more interesting is that, when we know of an actual DV relationship, we applaud the Victim for breaking their bonds and either getting out, or standing up to the Bully and stopping the Abuse by whatever means necessary.

Nearest I can tell with both relationships there is a codependency created that sinks its roots so deep, that it takes a catastrophic (focusing) moment for the Victim to break free. It’s time to break the Bonds!

  4. Show me where in the US Constitution that anyone serving in ANY branch of the general (federal) government was delegated the authority to create a registration of the American people for any purpose.

It is not there, and if you don’t want to take my word for it, how about his?

Daniel Webster: “Where is it written in the Constitution, in what article or section is it contained, that you may take children from their parents and parents from their children, and compel them to fight the battles of any war in which the folly and wickedness of the government may engage itself? Under what concealment has this power lain hidden, which now for the first time comes forth, with a tremendous and baleful aspect, to trample down and destroy the dearest right of personal liberty? Who will show me any Constitutional injunction which makes it the duty of the American people to surrender everything valuable in life, and even life, itself, whenever the purposes of an ambitious and mischievous government may require it? … A free government with an uncontrolled power of military conscription is the most ridiculous and abominable contradiction and nonsense that ever entered into the heads of men”.

Some more comments from the framers and forefathers concerning our government, concerning just how long corporations have been working to destroy our nation from within – read the Lincoln comment, etc.

Alexander Hamilton, Federalist 33: “…If the federal government should overpass the just bounds of its authority and make a tyrannical use of its powers, the people, whose creature it is, must appeal to the standard [The Constitution] they have formed, and take such measures to redress the injury done to the Constitution as the exigency may suggest and prudence justify….”

Thomas Jefferson: “When once a republic is corrupted, there is no possibility of remedying any of the growing evils but by removing the corruption and restoring its lost principles; every other correction is either useless or a new evil.”

President Abraham Lincoln: “We may congratulate ourselves that this cruel war [civil war] is nearing its end. It has cost a vast amount of treasure and blood … It has indeed been a trying hour for the Republic; but I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. As a result of war, corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands, and the Republic is destroyed. I feel at this moment more anxiety for the safety of my country than ever before, even in the midst of war. God grant that my suspicions may prove groundless.” (Letter from Lincoln to Col. William F. Elkins, Nov. 21, 1864, Hertz II, 954, in Archer H. Shaw, The Lincoln Encyclopedia (New York: Macmillan, 1950), p. 40)

  5. Most of what the federal government is involved in today is far beyond any legitimate authority allowed it by the Constitution — and it’s not going to quit pushing farther beyond the limits, or pull back on anything, unless it’s forced to. Politics has become a game of power and money played by an isolated elite for their (and their parties’) benefit, and to force us to conform to their ideology.

The great majority of people in government have no idea of the limits imposed on them by the Constitution, and wouldn’t care if they did. They are in business for themselves, and unless the power of the leadership establishments of both major parties is destroyed, and the public can be educated enough to understand that any power, or money government is allowed to have (beyond what is specifically authorized by the Constitution) diminishes their rights, freedom and standard of living, it will only get worse.

We no longer have a Constitution, just a government of self-serving hacks who recognize no limit to their power, other than what they allow each other to get by with. The problems mentioned here are certainly serious, but they are a minor part of the system that government has built for itself over the last hundred years — and they will not be rectified until the anti-constitutional system that allows them is destroyed. Unless government can be brought back within the restraints of the Constitution, we’re done — freedom and prosperity cannot co-exist with unrestrained government.

  6. No one was a “citizen of the United States” before the Civil War. Everyone was a “citizen of Alabama” or New Jersey or Missouri or New York, etc., etc. Being a “citizen of the United States” “_ _ not to exceed 10 Miles square.” Article ! Sec. 8, Next to last paragraph, Congress can do this, BUT they can’t do this to a “citizen of Iowa” or Arizona, Alaska etc., etc. The “State of Michigan” “State of Oregon” etc., etc. is a “Corporation” so don’t fall into that trap. PLEASE read the “Constitution of the United States.” Seymour Marvin Mills Jr.

  7. I cannot help considering over the many DECADES I have lived, watching Women’s Lib and the I am Woman, Hear me roar, Billy Jean King and all the others claiming inequality. Now today Lesbians wanting to be known as Men, I cannot help but think. Now you are getting it, how will you like it?
Then I remember being assigned to the USS Puget Sound a destroyer tender and how over half the crew were women and we left Norfolk VA on a Mediterranean Cruise. In the two weeks the slow cruise took to get to England more than 30 women turned up pregnant ans flew back home. These were intended pregnancies to get out of being on a 6 month deployment.
You see I have witnessed women roar and then whine because they got what they wanted without realizing just what it actually entails.
What am I for? Well… women should not be in combat outfits. They should not be in the US Navy. They should not be there “manning” a position and then not there when deployed leaving the men “undermanned” when the shit hits the fan. You see I experienced that as well…
I consider what has already been done to American women combatants. Do you think women will receive better or worse treatment by the “enemy”? Historically they have not. Rape is bad but it is not the worst thing that can happen.

Now for indefinite detainment without DUE PROCESS? How many of our present politicians ALREADY deserve such? ________ (fill in the blank)

Let’s make it happen to them first….
