After ‘Terror Watchlist’ Disarmament, ‘Haters’ will be Next in Line

Casey, seen here with scowling fellow freedom-hater Chuck Schumer, wants to disarm people SUSPECTED of being guilty of a misdemeanor “hate crime.” (Photo: Bob Casey/Twitter)

“You all are intolerant. I don’t want to coexist with this hate,” a female SJW (“social justice warrior”) at Portland State University tells members of Students for Trump.

“We’re gonna make it against the law for this,” she threatens in response to their peaceful promotion of an ideology she hates. “We are going to expand the definition of ‘hate speech’ to include what you are doing right here.”

That might seem laughable, except we’re already well down that road. The majority of colleges have “hate speech” codes with penalties, meaning the students have been indoctrinated to accept an artificial authority with the power to regulate expression, often backed by case law. And we only need look to our neighbor to the north to see such practices carrying the power of law, meaning edicts are ultimately enforceable via armed coercion.

We’ve also seen a proclivity of some, including on the Supreme Court, to look to foreign law for guidance on U.S. legal thought instead of confining matters to the Constitution. And if one politician has his way, “hate” will be the justification for disarming Americans — and just guess who the government has in mind.

“Strong supporter of the second amendment” Senator Bob Casey, who claimed he “opposes increased regulation on firearm ownership” (that is, before he “voted YES on banning high-capacity magazines of over 10 bullets”), has come up with a new and creative way to disarm anyone stupid enough to give him political power:

Make “hate crimes” grounds for prohibiting firearms ownership.

We’re not even talking felonies, we’re talking misdemeanors. Actually, we’re not even talking misdemeanors. Casey’s latest act of un-American treachery would:

“[P]rohibit the sale of firearms to anyone reasonably suspected to be guilty of a misdemeanor hate crime.”

Read that again and let it sink in.

Now understand that Oath Keepers are perpetually spotlighted by the Southern Poverty Law Center under its “Hate Watch” banner, despite a clear restriction on membership codified in the group’s bylaws:

No person who advocates, or has been or is a member, or associated with, any organization, formal or informal, that advocates discrimination, violence, or hatred toward any person based upon their race, nationality, creed, or color, shall be entitled to be a member or associate member.

Could the position be any clearer? Then again, the totalitarian lobby also calls this group that bases its very existence on the oath to the Constitution as “anti-government.”

Now we see — from just yesterday — SPLC provided testimony against Oath Keepers and others to the House Committees on Natural Resources and Homeland Security Forum on Countering Extremism on America’s Public Lands via a report titled “Antigovernment Movement Represents Serious Threat of Domestic Terror and Direct Threat to Lives of Federal Employees.”

Casey’s bill will probably go nowhere — for now.  Also uncertain is if any action will be taken on competing so-called “terror watchlist” proposals being floated by gun-grabbing “Due process is killing us” Democrats and by NRA-backed Republicans, who have yet to explain what they mean by “due process” (any bets if it involves a jury trial?)

Beyond that, just as many currently in positions of political power were campus radicals in the Sixties, repellent creatures like the Portland SJW will take their places within a generation, and who knows what insanely tyrannical edicts they’ll enact?  That is, assuming either the Republic has not split up or been restored, or that they’re not wearing burqas…

That last crack wasn’t “hate speech,” was it?

David Codrea blogs at The War on Guns: Notes from the Resistance (, and is a field editor/columnist for GUNS Magazine. 1. What’s the NRA done that I should know about? I’ve noticed that several of your articles have been less than complimentary. I do enjoy your writing and the fact that we share the same perspective on many issues etc.

    1. Clarke, How about NRA supporting Harry Reid in 2010 and getting him re-elected and a major player in passing Obamacare!

    2. Too many incidents over the years on too many different issues to refer to in one reply — for starters, see the link in this article and the question posed–what do they mean by “due process”? Because politically-appointed judges or panels hardly rise to the level of adjudication of a jury trial, that ought to be required before denying fundamental rights.

Also see my latest AmmoLand article:

  2. I will try and get some video of what true, “hate speech” is today in Orlando Florida when the Westboro Baptist Church comes down to protest and rant at the 490dead bodies the 53 wounded and of course the friends family and Associates of those victims of the Pulse Club Massacre.

49 people slaughtered by a radical Islamic turd, another 53 wounded, 6 of which are still in intensive care, several more in critical and guarded condition.

49 people who are DEAD because they were ejoying FREEDOM and the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS in their own way amongst their own friends and family members, in a government-controlled GUN FREE ZONE!

Let that message sink in a little bit. Let the fact that all the Carnage that occurred and all the hell the lives will go through probably for the rest of their life, all occurred in about an hour inside of a gun-free zone.

If you ask me, the term, “gun-free zone” is about the biggest form of any hate speech we will ever really here in our lifetime.

DEAD! Think about that one word for a minute. Isn’t that the word we grew up with when we were watching Star Trek? You know? “The final frontier”? These people of the LGBT community were gunned down in cold blood like fish in a barrel in their own SAFE HAVEN! Their very own GUN FREE ZONE!

A government controlled environment overshadowed by the word, SAFETY!

Why I’m willing to bet those 53 wounded, especially the ones struggling for their life, hanging on by threads so very fine that a spider’s web would look like it was made out of the steel girders of San Francisco’s Bay Area bridge in comparison.

I’m so thankful that you can’t bring guns into that GUN FREE ZONE! This is a. SAFE ZONE! NA NA NA NA NAAAA! YOU CAN’T TOUCH ME HERE!

I can imagine that’s what the 300-plus people that were in Club Pulse that evening were thinking. Very well aware of and had it on their minds as they partied and visited with their friends and family members that NOTHING could hurt them in that environment. Why there’s no way that the bullets from the rifle of a radical islamist could ever penetrate our GUN FREE ZONE!?! The government says so!

It didn’t even have to be a bullet from a high-powered rifle. It could have been a screwdriver, a hammer, a rock, a box cutter? Hell it could have been some drugs that somebody slipped into your drink.

The bottom line is the carnage occurred in a gun-free zone. Soft targets ripe for the plucking buy a crazed person, hell-bent on killing people for whatever reason. For whatever Idol he worshipped. For whatever thoughts were going through his mind. For whatever Spirit was floating through his soul. It is obvious that the almighty government power and authority was not present inside that gun-free zone while the flesh was being torn from the bodies of innocent people. While the pain and trauma was being equally distributed to all in their gun for environment.

It was their Safe Zone, the government said so. And would you think that THAT would be the first thing that’s going through their minds as they lay there gasping for air trying to survive? The thought that their government is acting to protect them while they lay there in their gun-free zone, wondering if they were going to get yet another bullet?

Let’s not forget the First Responders and Investigators and Detectives that have been going in and out of that club all week long and will probably do so for another week, reverse engineering what went wrong. Trying to piece together every single bullet wound, every gun shell casing, every blood splatter, every little piece of bone or brain tissue being found in the most uncanny locations as they carefully walk through the piles of bodies and blood and guts and brains so that they can compile their investigative report to explain to yet another Authority what they found inside that gun-free zone.

I’m almost willing to bet that through the minds of everyone that has walked into that club or those that escaped the carnage from it right now our thinking, OH! So THIS is what a, “GUN FREE” safe zone LOOKS like? SMELLS like, FEELS like?”

NOTHING can hurt them here. They are in an environment the powers-that-be dictate that. THAT (GUN FREE ZONE) is a SAFE environment!

At what level? At what quality assurance are we going to gauge true hate speech? if what the government didn’t already do by imposing a gun-free zone on some of its very own citizens in their weakest type of environment.

I am down here in Orlando. I am watching the people roam around the memorials that are spread throughout the town. I am reading the posters and signs the people try to stick in your face to, to let you read they’re message. ” AR-15s are weapons of mass destruction” one side red the rest had something to do with peace and love and give up hate and enjoy love. But not one of the signs of the hundreds that I read said anything to do about the dangers of a gun-free zone? If you want hate speech, I suggest you all come to Orlando right now and carry signs that indicate gun-free zones are there true hate speech. Gun free zones are the weapons of mass destruction. Just ask any crime scene investigator or the company employees of the company that goes in after they’re done and have to clean up the mess? I’ll bet they HATE their job?

  3. Takings of private property for so called public use has gravitated to be aquired for private or corporate development just to raise a tax base. They (the collective) want money–ours next.
Asset forfeiture is routine, and need not be based on proven guilt, not even misdemeanor. A cop can stop a car and a “drug dog “can fart, resulting in cause for searching. Any money beyond pocket change is subject to be confiscated. You’ll play hell getting it back. You can’t even be assured that proving the negative (that you are innocent) will get it back. Domestic abuse for ages has resulted in loss of the right of gun ownership, often based on a lying so called victum. And murder is murder, it’s no more a murder if done for hate as it is when done for greed, anger, or revenge. But do not attempt to reason with a collectivist; they possess no component of reason within their brains. That was left on the school room floor along with any critical thinking skills that were initially present. It’s all gone. Collectivists don’t got none.
The sweep has already begun. This is just the last increment in the roundup of a once free and independent people. Once we are gone, there will be no more. Look. It’s time to realize that they are coming for all of us: you, me, our neighbors, friends, children, grand children, and those unborn.
Our borders’ gates are left wide open. Felons are released into our midst. America haters are refugeed into our towns and countryside without threat that their hate will constitute crime, proven or otherwise. The value of our money is destroyed by the banking cartel that conspires with globalists and international banking behemoths to redistribute globally what’s left after our own government has done it’s redistribution best. Production be damed. They hate commerce (trade) while pretending to advocate for what are sovereignty destroying trade pacs. Does that constitute a hate crime? The collective will pervert our children with all sorts of theory about sexuality, fail to teach them the basics (the 3 Rs) while indoctrinating them in collectivist folk lore based on the collectives convoluted imaginations of Utopia.
A bubble society, living within the bubble is not for everyone. Collectivists can have their bubble, but some of us want the freedom to roam. Stay in L.A. Stay in N.Y. Leave the fly-overs alone. Otherwise, face the possibility that your bee hives may one day be tipped over and all your honey spilt on the concrete–won’t be no ground. Not even enough to provide a digging to put your sorry asses to rest. Is that hate? Nope, just reason. Wup, forgot. You don’t understand reason. Actually, collectivists don’t understand anything other than ridicule.

    1. Face it, when it comes right down to the nitty-gritty, you have two choices Tom. You can happily turn them over, or you can [one word deleted by Elias Alias, editor] them.

Every revolution has its martyrs. In fact, every revolution must have its martyrs.

      1. Curtis, I am sorry to have to delete a word from your comment, but there are some things which I cannot allow here. Hope you understand. Thanks!
        Elias Alias, editor

    1. I saw the original article when it came out, and I have to agree that we should see some evidence. My policy in recent years has been, and continues to be, to question everything, all the time, no matter what. I’d like to see some evidence, which so far has not crossed my path.

    2. Assuming 320 people were supposedly inside Pulse, and 49 are dead, and 53 are wounded; where are the 200+ witnesses who would be talking up a storm about what they saw and heard? Just as in Sandy Hook, we will never see the bloody carnage as it happened inside the club or raw club video.

Also, why are the attacks never on a government entity?

  4. There is no such thing as “hate crime”, or “hate speech”, and any laws pertaining to such nonsense are unconstitutional (regardless of what political-hack judges may have ruled).

Crime is action, not what someone may perceive as the motivation behind it (which no one can ever really know) — the action is what must be punished, not thoughts which may have been associated with it. You can hate all you like, as long as you refrain from illegal actions, without doing harm to anyone.

The constitutional guarantee of free speech precludes any penalty for “hate speech”. Speech that is generally accepted and approved of needs no protection — only speech that many, or most, would find distasteful requires protection. Without such protection, there is hardly anything of substance that could be said without some group finding it offensive and demanding that it be banned.

    1. Exactly!

Justice William O. Douglas, Terminiello v. City of Chicago (1949): “The vitality of civil and political institutions in our society depends on free discussion… It is only through free debate and free exchange of ideas that government remains responsive to the will of the people and peaceful change is effected. The right to speak freely and to promote diversity of ideas and programs is therefore one of the chief distinctions that sets us apart from totalitarian regimes.”

Justice William Brennan, Texas v. Johnson (1989): “If there is a bedrock principle underlying the First Amendment, it is that government may not prohibit the expression of an idea simply because society finds the idea offensive or disagreeable.”

Supreme Court, Red Lion v. FCC, 1969: “It is the purpose of the First Amendment to preserve an uninhibited marketplace of ideas in which truth will ultimately prevail, rather than to countenance monopolization of that market, whether it be by the Government itself or a private licensee. It is the right of the public to receive suitable access to social, political, esthetic, moral, and other ideas and experiences which is crucial here. That right may not constitutionally be abridged either by Congress or by the FCC.”

John Adams, from A Dissertation on the Canon and Feudal Law (1765): “Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people, who have a right… and a desire to know; but besides this, they have a right, and indisputable, unalienable, indefeasible, divine right to that most dreaded and envied kind of knowledge, I mean of the characters and conduct of their rulers.”

Yet, “hate speech” which is really “divide and conquer” speech.

  5. “Continuity of Government” (C.O.G.) is their ONLY concern….the rest is just fodder and dressing.

  6. Seems the movement to tyranny would choke it’s self.
They are following their Ten Commandments aka the Georgia Guidestones.
The stones clearly leave no life hopes for any other than the very high insiders.
Commandment 7 clearly states government workers have no use after the take down.
These sleep walkers are simply committing suicide while believing they have more than a future in the death camps.
They will surely drive right into the camps thinking their tyranny is going to pay off with more than a four man coffin.
The big picture will always be to big for the blind to see.
They will soon lose everything including their lives they fought to give to the reptiles.
    They won’t be missed.

  7. Hatred of item Constitution is hatred of deals of tolerance. Muslim Sharia will be federally funded throughout the USA while at the same time firearms are removed from every home, except those fascist leftists who believe in firearms as a privilege not a right, and those same fascists who are also needed by fed beauracracies. Politicians and hollywood propagandists also keep their granted privilege. Congress people who are actively wanting to strip away handguns, rifles, shotguns, and ammo from majority of Americans, particularly Constitution upholding Americans, these same anti-American congress people own handguns for their own self defense, they own them, they practice with them, and some go beyond and have full time security teams. Paul Ryan owns guns, but he will promote misdemeanor anti-due process regulations of firearms, while at the same time aiding wahabiist importation into the US while true refugees who want peaceful tolerance are in an excluded minority, and Christian refugees are unable to get to the US because the Sunni Muslim Sharia Wahabiists kill Christians who enter refugee camps. If Christians are abused or killed in the camps, the camps are full of rats undeserved of being refugees! Tell Paul Ryan if he works to import them to the US, he’s under citizen arrest for treason! If he works to strip away rights to due process with respect to preserving the other rights in the Constitution, same deal, citizen’s arrest! Meanwhile Wissconson, and Kentucky, wake the hell up and recall or primay Ryan and McConnel, recall, primary, or arrest all DNC, and the vast majority of GOP in congress!

    1. Look at it this way: The DNC convention will have a tall fence around it to protect themselves. Turn that around and they could all be imprisoned in their own self made cocoon. All the anti-constitutional tyrants would be in one place. lol

  8. Find one government in the history of humanity that felt a need to document a “RIGHT” for it’s ARMED FORCES to possess ARMS.
Oppressive Governments are ALWAYS banning the People’S RIGHTS to arms.
The claim that the Founding Fathers wrote the 2nd Amendment to give Our ARMED FORCES a “right” to keep and carry ARMS is S-T-U-P-I-D.
The only reason for the Second Amendment is to clearly spell-out the GOD GIVEN RIGHT of INDIVIDUALS to keep & bear ARMS.
The only reason for the BILL(list) of RIGHTS was to codify INDIVIDUALS’ GOD GIVEN RIGHTS.
Has there ever been a government that was not chock full of it’s “rights” up to and including declaring itself to be the Lord God Almighty?! (Rome, Egypt, Israel, etc)
Does the 1st Amendment mean the GOVERNMENT is allowed to give speeches? Try shutting up any Politician. But THEY would LOVE to shut YOU up, hence the FIRST Amendment.
Anyone who tells you the 2nd Amendment applies to the Army or State Militia, is telling you they think you are STUPID.
There has NEVER been a government that felt it had to codify it’s army’s/soldier’s “RIGHT” to “Keep and BEAR ARMS” because there has NEVER been a government that refused to allow It’s own soldiers to KEEP and BEAR ARMS!

  9. It’s going to take a leader, a LTC Allen West, Sheriff Clarke or another well known figure the people trust calling for massive armed protest in this country. We must start uniting 2A and gun loving proponents to mass in the streets [two words deleted by Elias Alias, editor] before we are taken seriously. There is only one thing this country understands and that is angry people in the streets protesting loudly and demanding that their rights not be infringed. Thousands in every state, willing to take a stand, for weeks if necessary, practicing civil disobedience much like Black Lives Matter, gay rights proponents and other [one word deleted by editor] groups. We must form with resolve and coordination so as not to make this a cluster [one word deleted by editor] that turns our message into a joke. If we fail, our rights are trampled, we devolve into group of unorganized gun nuts and possibly, rag tag groups who the authorities define as terrorists. With organization, coordination and resolve, we can be a force to be reckoned with!

  10. Our government will destroy a non violent trumped up threat in Waco Texas, but ignores known radical clerics and Muslims who are outspoken in their rhetoric to destroy our country and culture. Hello!

  11. the News media and it appears Oathkeepers will defeat the Government with words and suppression of ideas and comments. George Washington would be proud.

  12. I’m wondering before I write this if I’ll be censored, or I’ll be accused of hate speech by any government spies that might be checking this website out.
I think this country is on the way out, meaning God has had enough of giving America chance after chance to get its act together, but it keeps getting worse. We the people tend to stand around and do nothing but complain, so does that make us guilty too? I’m afraid it does because the state of affairs has gotten as bad as it can get in my estimation and I’m thinking that we’re all going to go down with the ship unless something happens to reverse the trend. So I write the following in order to encourage and exhort you all to be vigilant, because we’re dealing with a visible enemy AND an unseen enemy!
    Ephesians 6: 10-13
10.” Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

  13. You needn’t worry about my words in the future. I don’t want to associate with rights abusers. It appears even Oathkeepers is willing to censor free speech for fear of…whatever apparently. Goodbye and good luck!

    1. Awesome. Thank you for leaving so easily. Fyi, your “right to free speech” ended when you came in through our door. This is Oath Keepers’ house. There are things that will not be allowed in our house, and if you can’t figure that out, and can’t imagine why I censor certain things, then you’re not highly-enough evolved in your understanding. But don’t be discouraged, and do keep on trying to learn about how our enemies just love to find certain types of comments on our website, the types of comments which can be used against us by DHS and others. They like to take screen shots and then tell the damned government how bad those evil Oath Keepers are. Most mature individuals can understand that. Maybe some day you will also come to see it. When you do, you’re welcome to come visit this place.

      Elias Alias, editor

  14. These ass-kissing tyrant-wannabes can kiss our collective asses. McCarthy was right; communists should’ve been rounded up and deported or put in the gulag where they belong.
