Battlefield America: The War On The American People

This article comes from the Rutherford Institute.

By John W. Whitehead

“A government which will turn its tanks upon its people, for any reason, is a government with a taste of blood and a thirst for power and must either be smartly rebuked, or blindly obeyed in deadly fear.”—John Salter

We have entered into a particularly dismal chapter in the American narrative, one that shifts us from a swashbuckling tale of adventure into a bone-chilling horror story.

As I document in my new book Battlefield America: The War on the American People, “we the people” have now come full circle, from being held captive by the British police state to being held captive by the American police state. In between, we have charted a course from revolutionaries fighting for our independence and a free people establishing a new nation to pioneers and explorers, braving the wilderness and expanding into new territories.

Where we went wrong, however, was in allowing ourselves to become enthralled with and then held hostage by a military empire in bondage to a corporate state (the very definition of fascism). No longer would America hold the moral high ground as a champion of freedom and human rights. Instead, in the pursuit of profit, our overlords succumbed to greed, took pleasure in inflicting pain, exported torture, and imported the machinery of war, transforming the American landscape into a battlefield, complete with military personnel, tactics and weaponry.

To our dismay, we now find ourselves scrambling for a foothold as our once rock-solid constitutional foundation crumbles beneath us. And no longer can we rely on the president, Congress, the courts, or the police to protect us from wrongdoing.

Indeed, they have come to embody all that is wrong with America.

For instance, how does a man who is relatively healthy when taken into custody by police lapse into a coma and die while under their supervision? What kind of twisted logic allows a police officer to use a police car to run down an American citizen and justifies it in the name of permissible deadly force? And what country are we living in where the police can beat, shoot, choke, taser and tackle American citizens, all with the protection of the courts?

Certainly, the Constitution’s safeguards against police abuse means nothing when government agents can crash through your door, terrorize your children, shoot your dogs, and jail you on any number of trumped of charges, and you have little say in the matter. For instance, San Diego police, responding to a domestic disturbance call on a Sunday morning, showed up at the wrong address, only to shoot the homeowner’s 6-year-old service dog in the head.

Rubbing salt in the wound, it’s often the unlucky victim of excessive police force who ends up being charged with wrongdoing. Although 16-year-old Thai Gurule was charged with resisting arrest and strangling and assaulting police officers, a circuit judge found that it was actually the three officers who unlawfully stopped, tackled, punched, kneed, tasered and yanked his hair who were at fault. Thankfully, bystander cell phone videos undermined police accounts, which were described as “works of fiction.”

  1. A black ski mask is nothing less than a sure indicator of a GUILTY CONSCIENCE!

You don’t see the American Patriots wearing ski masks and trying to hide their identity, because they are right and they know it.

The mercenaries who wear ski masks are sellouts to a government gone mad.

If it were up to me to write the rules of engagement (thank God it’s not) I would say to my men, shoot every single person wearing a ski mask to hide their identity, and let God sort them out.

    What a bunch of cowards.

  2. @ Montana blogger, “A black ski mask is nothing less than a sure indicator of a GUILTY CONSCIENCE!”

Ah… I ski, and my ski mask is black. Yet I am a Constitutionalist until I am murdered by them or we get our country back on track.

Hey, All ex and current military – remember there will be a lot of job openings for Constitution supporting non Oath breakers because our nation has been turned upside down, and most agencies today are NON CONSTITUTIONAL.

That means it will take those who are constitutional to work form within and make them all cognizant of the US Constitution, the “duties” that they may no longer practice, the duties that they MUST perform. That will be a Militia duty probably since they are the constitutionally assigned group to enforce the US Constitution and each State Constitution, so I see that bringing them back to being an American agency – if possible – will be theirs.

The ones that are NOT Constitutional in any manner will need to be dismantled, but the people within will need to be trained to the US Constitution before assisted into either a existing place that will need people, or into creating their own industry so that we are NOT dependent on any foreign nation for anything.

Then we will still need the Militia to be there to defend each state and the nation.

BTW, enforcing the LAWS of the LAND (laws in Pursuance thereof the US Constitution) needs to be done now at our borders. That is LAWFULLY and Constitutionally the Militias duty – and those that get their authority cannot LAWFULLY and with a straight face say that it is not.

We can rebuild our nation after throwing out the corrupt and PROSECUTING them for their crimes.

We have a long way to go, but start thinking of ways to:

Build industries needed here to get us off of the foreign “teat”. Weapons is important, but so is technology, communication, cleaning up the messes that those unlawful corporations have made of our world.

    Roads, bridges, infrastructure

Farming, and teaching those to grow what they need.

    Bring back trading.

Create a new constitutionally required currency that will be backed by gold and silver as it is required to be!

Go after, and hunt down those that stole our gold, etc.

Oh, and we might ought to come up with a better internet that is NOT dependent on the world, but we can still talk to the world – peer to peer is probably to simplex but some one with the mind and education to do it – why not start now?

I know this is a simplex way of describing what needs to be done, but that is what I am, a simple God Fearing, Constitution supporting, American – and I am proud to see what all Oathkeepers are doing, and what they can come up with for the future of America. It is in all of our hands!

God Bless and Keep You all Safe!

    Molon Labe!!

If there were never intended to be action to defend the Constitution from those who are domestically attempting to destroy its power and authority, why would each Oath require it of those who take the Oaths?

    Thejn there are those agen

  3. I don’t see what’s wrong with a cop or anyone else using a car to stop a criminal. The guy was pointing a rifle at a person. Heck I’d run him over in a heartbeat

  4. The cop ran over him because he knew he could get away with it. They know they can crash in through your door after knocking (and giving you 4 seconds to answer before knocking down the door), and then open fire on everyone in the room …with no concern if any of them are armed or not. (I am not stating anything that I have not seen on TV or videos taken by citizens of “real life events” in the recent past.
As I write this, Baltimore, MD is coming apart at the seams for yet another act of The Police State, and I am a retired US Navy man (SF), and on 100% VA Disability due to service-connected “damages.” However, being a veteran does NOT mean that I remotely agree with the Federal Government or ESPECIALLY the current Administration and all the BS the president is systematically destroying the country with. Actually, I stand confused and dazed with how in hell anyone can continually keep doing such outrageous acts against The People, write Exec Orders by the hundreds (only to circumvent Congress or whomever), and then start making friends out of ENEMIES and leaving our Allies to fend for themselves. WHY are we standing idly by as this administration “sets up” Iran with nukes (intended for us, and they have OPENLY STATED so!), plus pay them a whopping $50billion to “sweeten the deal.” (allegedly). Am I the only one who is under the impression that we are going to find ourselves on the brink of a war, perhaps nuclear, within a matter of months (possibly less)? Aren’t The Oathkeepers here to ensure that The Constitution does NOT get trampled by the tyrants who are seeking to destroy it so that they can replace it with Socialism, Marxism or whatever the hell is going on? If so, I’d love to join. If not …I’ve no interest. I am a man who believes that all laws should be 100% Constitutional, and if any law comes my way that is NOT constitutional, then you can bet I am not going to acknowledge it as law much less abide by such things. (I’ll view them as illegal because, quite simply, they ARE). I am a man that firmly believes that in order to keep America from going down the tubes we are going to have to resort to another instance similar to 1776, and then reconstruct the USA as She’s meant to be. (And run out absolutely everyone that seeks to undermine us). I believe it is The People who “should” be in charge of this country, and NOT The Federal Government who already have the greater majority ‘duped’ into believing that “what they say goes and if you dare disagree then you’ll either be jailed forever or killed, or both). Wrongo!
If you know The Constitution, then you know exactly what I am saying and I’ve no need to say another word. In fact, that’s all I have to say for now except to ask members, “Would I be considered a good and viable member to join Oath-Keepers or are my views too ‘outrageous or anti-government’ to consider joining?
There IS a war coming, and it is coming sooner than most think. It would be really nice to know that there are those out there that would “have my six” as dependably as I would “have their six” in any and all given situations. On the other side of the fence, I truly am a laid-back, peaceable person and I dislike confrontations and ‘asses’ (which seems to be in abundance). However, I am also a veteran that sees everything happening for what it truly is, and when ‘things’ get underway I do not intend to sit around bitching about it. I intend to be out there DOING whatever needs to be done to restore the USA to as She should be, and once was before ??? got their faces into it and turned everything upside down. Millions have died for America …damned if I’ll let their deaths be in vain.
Thanks for reading everyone. I will assume that if this doesn’t get posted then it would be best to just keep searching …or move I suppose.
