Testimonial – Melvin Thurman

Testimonial: I grew up believing in three things and I still do; GOD, COUNTRY, FAMILY. During my time in the military three things were added, HONOR, DUTY, COUNTRY. As you can see one stands above all, serving my country. In Dec. 1967 I took an Oath, My Oath of Enlistment has NO expiration date.

I, Melvin L. Thurman, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

The last half of the Oath is at this time questionable in referrence to the orders of the President of the United States (I would be very questionable as to the lawful parts of any order from the current administration.)

One thing that WILL stand is my Oath to support (Protect) and Defend the Constitution of the United States of America. I also wrote a blank check to my country of “up to and including my life”.  That check still stands till the day my casket is flag draped. I am all peace loving, and seek peace everyday of my life, but many times proven, peace is only obtainable by force. God bless each and everyone of my brothers and sisters.
