Testimonial – Ken Gaines

Testimonial:  I enlisted for the first time on September 23, 1989 in Shreveport, LA. I had no idea that my enlistment as an Air Force Reservist would eventually carry me to the world of an active duty sailor in the World’s Finest Navy. After a career that spanned 3 continents and 2 wars, I can still say today that I was proud to serve in this Nation’s Armed Forces.

I remember the first time I took the Oath of Enlistment. Hearing myself repeat those words had a profound effect on me then just as it does today. Even in these dark days for our Great Nation, I still carry a great sense of duty to uphold the Oath that I took so many years ago. Like so many of my fellow American Veterans, I stand at the ready to defend my Nation, my Family,
and my God to this day, to the end. We didn’t just swear to defend this Nation while we were on the US Government’s payroll. We took that Oath as a way of life for the rest of our lives. I for one plan to uphold the promise that I made to my God, my Country, and my Family until the day I pass from this world to the next.
