Where The World’s Unsold Cars Go To Die

This article comes from ZeroHedge.com

by Tyler Durden

In the past several years, one of the topics covered in detail on these pages has been the surge in such gimmicks designed to disguise lack of demand and end customer sales, used extensively by US automotive manufacturers, better known as “channel stuffing”, of which General Motors is particularly guilty and whose inventory at dealer lots just hit a new record high. But did you know that when it comes to flat or declining sales and stagnant end demand, channel stuffing is merely the beginning?

Presenting…

Above is just a few of the thousands upon thousands of unsold cars at Sheerness, United Kingdom.  Please do see this on Google Maps….type in Sheerness, United Kingdom.  Look to the west coast, below River Thames next to River Medway. Left of A249, Brielle Way.

There are hundreds of places like this in the world today and they keep on piling up…

THE WORLDS UNSOLD CAR STOCKPILE

Houston…We have a problem!…Nobody is buying brand new cars anymore!  Well they are, but not on the scale they once were.  Millions of brand new unsold cars are just sitting redundant on runways and car parks around the world.  There, they stay, slowly deteriorating without being maintained.

Below is an image of a massive car park at Swindon, United Kingdom, with thousands upon thousands of unsold cars just sitting there with not a buyer in sight. The car manufacturers have to buy more and more land just to park their cars as they perpetually roll off the production line.

There is proof that the worlds recession is still biting and wont let go.  All around the world there are huge stockpiles of unsold cars and they are being added to every day.  They have run out of space to park all of these brand new unsold cars and are having to buy acres and acres of land to store them.

NOTE:

The images on this webpage showing all of these unsold cars are just a very small portion of those around the world.  There are literally thousands of these “car parks” rammed full of unsold cars in practically every country on the planet.  Just in case you were wondering, these images have not been Photoshopped, they are the real deal!

Its hard to believe that there are so many unsold cars in the world but its true.  The worse part is that the amount of unsold cars keeps on getting bigger every day.

It would be fair to say that it is becoming a mechanical epidemic of epic proportions.  If anybody from outer space is reading this webpage, we here on Earth have too many cars, why not come and buy a few hundred thousand of them for your own planet! (sorry but this is all I can think of)

  1. Think about how much gas and oil are in each of those car engines…not to mention the vast waste of resources that went into making each of those cars: Batteries, wires, fabrics, plastics…

  2. I wonder if lowering their prices and selling more cars might be an alternative to parking unsold vehicles they make too many of? Nahhh

  3. You know Bill I’ve been looking for a new truck. I went to a dealer and they had a full row of the kind of truck I was interested in. Within minutes a salesman came out and before I even had a chance to check them all out he had me test driving one I was looking at when he showed up. The funny part was he and his manager already had a payment plan and int. rate set up for me. I started laughing when they asked if I thought it was a good deal. They looked at each other and said what’s so funny? I just said you guys wanna sell me this truck so bad you can taste it. Let me tell you guys something. You’re not gonna have a lick of a problem selling me this truck! I love it! Your problem is me selling it to my wife. It’s for her? They asked. No it’s for me but I have to convince her on the deal. You guys didn’t even bother to ask if I had a trade. And I didn’t get any indication of a cash back or incentive. So that’s gonna create a problem. That was Thursday. By Friday they called me twice, and then again on Friday along with a letter in the mail and I haven’t even checked my e-mail yet. I can’t wait to go back and tell them I just saw a commercial on TV that was giving an $8600. off of a Silverado. I’m gonna tell them. (my wife said take $5000. off or no deal. I don’t need the truck, I’d like to own a truck I already told them. I’m retired and have never owned one. I’ll also tell them that it’s a wonder your lot is full along with all the other dealers. Look at the prices! My god there are some pickups with a $57000. price tag on them. Geez.

  4. Guess what happened to the Cash for Clunkers autos? Via the Galveston,tx port they were shipped to china! Truckload after truckload! But we were cleaning up our ozone- now china has to show pictures of the sun rising – but Obama wants to charge Americans to travel in our cars by the mile? Our government wants to charge Americans for global warming? What a big joke!

  5. “Cash for clunkers” was an effort to get older
vehicles without “Telematic” capabilities off the road.
Ever heard of Telemetrics? Those are the electronic boxes
that are in ALL new vehicles that send DATA to government.
The government has built a electronic grid to spy on you.
And most of you do NOT know it.
TELEMETRIC devices send signals about your vehicle to imbedded and roadside sensors.
Your position is triangulated with electronic signals output by your new car or truck.
    Do your research.
Older vehicles do not have tracking and sound recording capabilities,
The government wanted those vehicles out of circulation.
That is real reason for “Cash for clunkers.”
