The Best Way To Anger A Ranger

Jim White, of Northwest Liberty News, interviewed Danny Harrington, a former Ranger, (Class of 8-85; 1st BN 83-88) who vetted Ryan Payne, who claims to have been a Ranger. Ryan Payne, if you recall, claims to be the head of security at the Bundy Ranch, and made several claims, on video, claiming he was a Ranger. Truth be told, Ryan Payne was not a Ranger, having never gone to Ranger School.  Making false claims is not the way to be a trusted leader. Rangers don’t like people who have never been Rangers claiming to have been one.

To see the email traffic between a real Ranger and the Ranger training school, and to thereby see for yourself that Ryan Payne never went to Ranger training, go to North West Liberty News –

  1. Disappointing behavior. Poser?
Poser Politicians claiming to be combat vets.
National guard posted stateside, “doesn’t count folks.”
Poser Warriors. “Spending all your time behind the wire…doesn’t count.”
Poser Militia patriots, “Often time just loud mouth trouble makers looking for a fight.”
Poser Cops with “Gucci” gear, looking to play tough guy. Looking to kill.
Those who have NEVER seen combat often pretend to be that which they are NOT.
Sometimes war is necessary. But it is not “cool”. Death. Destruction. Lowest economic classes
fighting and dying so that those at the TOP get richer. Those that fight NEVER profit.
Just the Rich, Politicians, Corporations, profit by DEATH.
God Bless the True Warriors and those that have actually put their ass on the line.
    Freedom is NOT Free.

  2. @ Trooper.

That is true that there are a lot of posers, liars, etc out there. But “Poser Militia patriots”, if you are retired or no longer a veteran, LEO, etc then YOU are the organized Militia of your state.

The Militia is (the ONLY) constitutionally people assigned to:
    – Enforce the US Constitution and each state’s Constitution,
    – Enforce and keep the “Laws of the Union” (which is constitutional laws ONLY),
    – Protect the country against all enemies both domestic and foreign, and
    – “to suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions”.

Here; US Constitution, Article I, Section. 8, Clause 11: “To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water”.

The congress has the duty to grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal when they are needed to enforce the US Constitution, the laws, or defend the people and the nation. This is using private citizens in their own privately owned crafts to defend the USA and her people, this is using the Militia.

And here; Clause 15: “To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel invasions.

The militia of each state is taxed with the defense of the USA and her people, not just with the defense of their state; and they are to be armed with weapons that can repel any invasions bearing modern weapons of war. Congress is required to provide those military grade weapons for the militias.

And again here; Clause 16: “To provide for organizing, ARMING, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress”.

Which makes it VERY clear that those military arms and “surplus arms” being given to LE”S, terrorists that are still fighting our US soldiers, and foreign nations are to go to the Militia of each state.

The true warriors are needed to train the rest of us so we can be an asset instead of a
liability. I send many who ask when I comment or write articles to OK and CSPOA so that they can find places to train.

  3. Oh, and also mentioned in the 5th Amendment: No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, OR IN THE MILITIA, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

  5. The best info on revitalizing the militia of the several states is found in the book “Constitutional Homeland Security” by Dr. Edwin Vieira, Jr. I strongly recommend spending the money to buy it. There is also a lot of great information in the DVD titled “Molon Labe” which can be purchased from Oath Keepers or World Net Daily.

  6. With all due respect to the Rangers who earned the title, the bigger problem here is that this guy apparently defamed the leadership of oath keepers. You should sue him for that. Even if you lose it will make him pay a price. Please don’t shy away from this suggestion just because you imagine it would cost a lot to hire an attorney. You can get started for just a few hundred dollars. And surely you have some true patriot attorneys who would help out without charging full price. If you don’t already have that by now or can line it up with a few phone calls, you have bigger problems than what Doofus said about you. 😉

  7. Why can’t we see a picture of this maggot? He’ll rear his ugly head again. A lot of these jerks are world traveled.

Not long ago, a perp dressed as Special Forces was called out at a gun show in Alaska. He was later arrested (multiple felonies) and may still be serving federal time.

  8. Where does this guy live? City/state no exact address requested. What is his face book or blog, etc. Some one like this needs some public ridicule.
What are Oathkeepers rules on membership and participation of demonstrations? Do you not have an internal security unit watching out for kick starters? Why did no one ask him to leave and take his punisher comics with him? He put vets, off duty soldiers, off duty leo’s and their wives amd children at risk. Are you sure he is mot trained at internal disruption via langly types.

  9. As an OathKeeper and Gold Star Mother, I can state, with complete contempt intended, that I despise those who fraudulently depict themselves in such a manner and distort, or purposely work to destroy, the heroics of military.

  10. I have started looing into this ryan as well as I smelled the BS after see a few of his interviews, however his actions against the leaders of oathkeepers at the ranch is to say the least unprofessional, if I remember right he think he kicked them off the area, but also threatened to shoot em in the back. hmm not a stable person, and has obvious other agenda’s over the Bundys interests. just my opinion. I did find on his FB page he is the Mountain Rangers militia or somthing. Is that were he considers himself a ranger? vs. a REAL Army Ranger? just for clarification for me, has Ryan ever declared himself a Vet Army Ranger? or was he just saying he was a militia ranger from montana.. There are other things I will check on tonight.
But I support removing the Fruits & Nuts at least from the leadership circles of the Bundy ranch for thier safety, and all others present. These Ryan and allies did attack 2 oathkeepers with no reason.. or warning. this also is strange… lots of strange issues for folks who showed up that just dont make sense..

  11. Damn shame when someone claims to be a Ranger, SEAL, Sniper, pilot, Force recon, P.J. or commando, I got to work with all branches of special ops, but in a support role, and I damn proud of the folks I met & served with. But I would never claim to be something I wasn’t and didn’t care for ones that have stepped over that line.

  12. Although I never served my father served in the Marines and my cousin served in Vietnam as an “tunnel rat” and he is my HERO! My brothers served in the Army but due to medical issues I was not able to enlist. Anyone whom lies about their service is filth! Those deserve nothing and should be fed to the wolves first! Thank you all whom have served and may we all stand together against evil and fight for our constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic! The most dangerous is the domestic enemies within and we must expose them to all!

  13. Wannabe’s – A Dime a dozen – I can not count the number I have personally busted over the years on my own or as a volunteer with the PoW Network tracking down the clowns. It costs NOTHING to vet and more oft than not a preliminary finding can be had even prior to filing with NPRC. If SEAL, easy… no matter how much BS is claimed on SECRET any thing as in order to be SEAL you had to have gone through BUD/S. If your not on the list – you are not a SEAL. Chief Don Shipley has mad it a vocation to expose the wannabe SEAL. Ranger: RTB Records. If you never attended the RTB you are not a Ranger. RECON/SNIPER, and more… all can be checked prior to filing with St Louis. NPRC is the final word ( for the most part ) You can fill out a form here: if you suspect some one your dealing with is a bag of wind. As much information as you can please. Also, if you find the PoW Network to be useful… please consider a small donation. ALL are volunteers, yet there are immense costs involved at times.

Groupie Joe, a no one special sends.

  14. Something is banging around in my head, but I can’t seem to remember all the facts or details. But it seems to me that some years ago, maybe 5 to 10 years ago, there was someone running for public office who misrepresented his military service. Because of that incident, didn’t they make it a felony to misrepresent your military service ? Maybe someone out there can fill in the blanks.

[Editor’s Note: Like you, Robert, I cannot recall the details, but I do recall that a legislator from one of the New England States was exposed in his lie about being a Viet Nam Veteran. He was disgraced publicly. I paid little attention to it at the time, figuring that it was not unusual for any politician to lie. I do not know about any legal penalties for doing that. Shame on Ryan Payne. Go listen to his BS again, knowing this time that it’s coming from a man who touts stolen valor. Especially note at about 2 minutes and 25 seconds into the video where Ryan (in black shirt) says that Stewart Rhodes and other Oath Keepers have violated his creed.

“But this man, and the people who obeyed that order, have violated my personal creed. You don’t walk in and say ‘I’m sorry’ and you’re back in brother. You can walk in and say you’re sorry, and, you’re lucky you’re not getting shot in the back.” – Ryan Payne, provocateur, liar, and egotistical valor-thief and general fraud.

  15. Actually folks, my commanding officer knew that Ryan Payne was an agent
provocateur and possibly a federal agent even before he, himself got to Nevada and
before Oathkeepers arrived. In fact, that’s the main reason he, Col Christian Yingling, (Pa Lightfoot miliia CO and commander of Laurel Highland Ghost Company)
went there–to avert the potential of Payne creating a disaster. He attempted to tell the Bundy’s what they were dealing with in Payne, but they are trusting souls and Payne is a very good actor. Now, hopefully, Bundy will kick Payne and any member of OMA (Operation Mutual Aid) off the property.

  16. As a former Deputy with tactical entry training and some other areas of specialization I can say without doubt that this turd in the punchbowl will eventually result in someone’s injury, or demise. He should be removed immediately, there are no greater liabilities, or risks than to have someone who is not only untrained, but a liar to boot among the ranks. Cutting the pie and having this idiot with a finger on the trigger and a fanning of the muzzle is all that is necessary for someone to end up injured, or maimed, or worse dead. One dumbass is all that is needed to set the whole of the place on fire, with the result being some serious LEO’s coming down on the whole population and eternal black eyes for all responsible and truly trained patriot militia nation wide. The MSM would love nothing more than to brand us all a bunch of trigger happy crackpots hell bent on fighting our way through any issue we face, to hell with diplomacy people get this turd gone before someone gets killed. Life, limb and property is our main concern, it should be anyway. We should take this threat seriously folks…To all my LEO bros and broettes and to all the honourable vets you have my love and gratitude and respect. We absolutely MUST have each other’s back, and if it requires being an asshole to someone who is a severe liability in order to remove the threat then we should unite to ensure the threat is neutralized in a manner which offers the most efficient and lawful expedient result.
    Pax aut bellum, omnis moriar.

    Respectfully in truth and liberty,

  17. I am very happy that Oath Keepers has been vindicated. History will show that God is surely on your side for your cause is noble and just. I sincerely hope this fake gets his punishment coming to him.

  18. while in Afghanistan 08/10 I saw many contractors reinvent themselves. It is very important to look closely at those you follow or those who try to promote themselves in a fashion that make you wonder

  19. In my opinion, a sin & a shame. Right is right, wrong is wrong. I personally have volunteered a total of 7 times for deployment. 3 in the 90’s during Gulf War. I had an 18yr. break in service, re-enlisted & volunteered an additional 4 times. I SPECIFICALLY do NOT stop there; I say the ENTIRE TRUTH, I’ve never gone. Misleading is deception which is tantamount to lying. THAT, is NOT a positive quality & frequently negates any good previously performed by the dishonest individual. Shame, shame, shame. As I’ve told my Son, “One must first have integrity in order to have any semblance of shame.” Thanks for reading, -Mayo

  20. Matthew 7:15

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

  21. Good job on exposing the fraud.
    Constructive criticisms:
1)On the NW Liberty News sights, there is a great post which asks for pictures of the individual. Information such as a picture would be valuable to all reading the expose’.
2)The first OK email I received which had Rhodes and 4 (3 on camera, 1 off) explaining the sitrep and the accusations, pictures of individual would have benefited greatly. Numerous discussions in the 50+ minute video used only first names. As I stated in my post to that vid, it was difficult to follow who did what to whom based on the discussion at the table. All I’m saying is that the purpose to convey to those who were NOT there, failed at conveying what WHO did WHAT. I understood the intent of the OK email, I just could discern the individuals that were being pointed out.
3)This email uses some disparaging words that detract from the message which is well delivered. “He is the little twerp” … “asinine arrogance of his unchecked powers of narcissism.”

Your negatively impact believability suffers when you make the email a personal attack.

Pointing out the man (Ryan Payne) is a fraud was sufficient and the investigation accomplished by Danny H accomplishes that well.

O.K. MUST stay on the high road when distributing information to the members. The media is watching and non-O.K. will be reading what O.K. publishes.

[Editor’s Note: David, thank you for the nudge about my choice of words in that email. I’m the guilty party who proclaimed the guy a twerp. I agree with your observations completely, and will control myself more closely next time. To be honest with you, I judged the word “twerp” to be a desirable alternate for the word which first came to mind….
But you’re right, and I should expect better of myself. Thank you for the reminder. And thank you for being here.

  22. I am one of the many who have been following the Bundy Ranch situation and I am also one who has kept my mouth shut since all the problems stated. I want you too know how much WE THE PEOPLE appreciate ask that you do. With all the disinformation flying around: I for one am so happy this has gone full circle. Thank You For All You Do. All I can say is… UNITED WE STAND…. AND THANK YOU AGAIN….. GOD SPEED

  23. I’ve experienced these parasites in other groups I was associated with, they seem to follow a pattern as you pointed out blowhards attempting to take leadership positions. They mo0re often than not turn out to be fraudulent fowl balls. It’s hard to find and weed them out before they hurt other people.

  24. Ryan like all people have their faults, i do not agree with what he said or did….but the bottom line….he is risking his neck to protect the Bundys……so its not all bad. He is boots on the ground…and has been there since day one. Who are we that are not on site to judge those that are on site and risking this life. I would cut him a little slack…..its what a person does that counts.

[Editor’s Note: Well, John Hackett, you stated that at bottom line Ryan “is risking his neck to protect the Bundys.” I might ask how can we know that he is not risking his neck to sabotage everything the Bundy family is fighting for? Have you taken time to step back and look at this from a more objective perspective? Everything was going great. Oath Keepers brought in thousands of dollars, furnished lots of stuff, flew in a number of out-of-State legislators and Sheriffs and other Peace Officers to stand with the Bundys. We were getting good news coverage and were giving traction to the whole question of Federally-owned (or not owned) public lands within the several States. We were gaining good momentum in all directions – and suddenly POW! We got attacked by Mr. Payne and his pals who were acting and talking like they were in charge at the Ranch. He has led the movement in the camps at the Ranch to get Oath Keepers out of there, just when Oath Keepers was really putting it together very nicely for everyone. (For everyone except the BLM thugs of course.) You were in that video, were you not, the one in which Payne accused Oath Keepers of deserting our posts and committing treason. Didn’t you vote to ban Oath Keepers from the ranch? Did not you vote that Oath Keepers deserted their post under fire or threat of fire? And did that attack on Oath Keepers happen at the very same time Stewart Rhodes was being hit with a preposterous piece of “leaked intelligence” from (allegedly) the Pentagon itself? The militia mutiny happened at the same time a false rumor gave cause for alarm there at the Ranch proper, so timed together to give the result which the Fedgov dearly needed, desperately needed. Suddenly in the course of one afternoon and evening everything good that we had workef for was shot down in flames by vicious rumors and bizarre rumors – and Oath Keepers stumbled. And you still want to come in here on Oath Keepers property and tell us that Payne is still a good guy? NO, Dude – he is a part of what killed much good publicity work done by the Bundys and Oath Keepers and Sheriff Mack’s Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association ( and all the other good neighbors and supporters who had invested in getting out to the American people the question of federal abuse of State lands and State citizens. I am not calling him a “government provocateur”, but the Fedgov would be hard pressed to script a more effective psy-op than the one Ryan Payne just pulled off at the Bundy Ranch.

But do let me know if you’re the same “Hackett” that is in that video with DeLemus and Payne.

  25. I just did a little googling on the topic of misrepresenting military service, and it seems that in 2012 the Stolen Valor Act was introduced and passed by the House. It seems that it was subsequently struck down as being unconstitutional under free speech reasons. However, it may be a crime to claim military service if your purpose is to receive benefits from the lie. So, it seems that although reprehensible, under the First Amendment you can blather on about what a war hero you are, but if you fraudulently claim Monetary military benefits, that in itself may be illegal. However, I am not a lawyer and am only basing these statements on a quick google search. I encourage anyone interested in googling the Stolen Valor Act, and you decide.

  26. Cal, in your May 8 reply to Trooper, it was most likely a typo, but you said “if you are retired or no longer a veteran”. A veteran is one who has served. That’s a permanent status. One is never “a former veteran”, or “a former graduate”. Either one is “once and forever”. Thanks.
