Obama’s Lies, NSA Spies, And The Sons Of Liberty: Will You Choose Dangerous Freedom Or Peaceful Slavery?

Sons of Liberty

This article comes from the Rutherford Institute.

by John W. Whitehead

“All governments are run by liars.”—Independent journalist I.F. “Izzy” Stone

President Obama has managed, with singular assistance from Congress and the courts, to mangle the Constitution through repeated abuses, attacks and evasions.

This is nothing new, as I’ve documented in my book A Government of Wolves: The Emerging American Police State. However, with his recent speech on the National Security Agency—a heady cocktail of lies, obfuscations, contradictions and Orwellian doublespeak—Obama has also managed to pervert and propagandize our nation’s history, starting with Paul Revere and the Sons of Liberty, likening their efforts to secure our freedoms to NSA phone surveillance. Frankly, George Orwell’s Winston Smith, rewriting news stories for Big Brother and the Ministry of Truth, couldn’t have done a better job of revising history to suit the party line.

While it didn’t bode well for what was to follow, here’s how Obama opened his speech:

“At the dawn of our Republic, a small, secret surveillance committee borne out of the ‘The Sons of Liberty’ was established in Boston. And the group’s members included Paul Revere. At night, they would patrol the streets, reporting back any signs that the British were preparing raids against America’s early Patriots. Throughout American history, intelligence has helped secure our country and our freedoms.”

Obama’s inference is clear: rather than condemning the NSA for encroaching on our privacy rights, we should be commending them for helping to “secure our country and our freedoms.” Never mind that the Sons of Liberty were actually working against the British government, to undermine what they perceived as a repressive regime guilty of perpetrating a host of abuses against the colonists.

After such a 1984-esque send-up, it doesn’t even really matter what else Obama had to say in his speech about NSA reforms and the like. Rest assured, it was largely a pack of lies. Mind you, Obama said it eloquently enough and interspersed it with all the appropriately glib patriotic remarks about individual freedom and the need to defend the Constitution and securing the life of our nation while preserving our liberties. After all, Obama has proven to be very good at saying one thing and doing another, whether it’s insisting that “you can keep your health care plan,” that he’ll close Guantanamo, or that his administration’s controversial drone strikes only target terrorists and not civilians.

When it comes to the NSA, Obama has been lying to the American people for quite some time now. There was the time he claimed the secret FISA court is “transparent.” Then he insisted that “we don’t have a domestic spying program.” And then, to top it all off, he actually insisted there was no evidence the NSA was “actually abusing” its power. As David Sirota writes for Salon: “it has now become almost silly to insinuate or assume that the president hasn’t also been lying. Why? Because if that’s true — if indeed he hasn’t been deliberately lying — then it means he has been dangerously, irresponsibly and negligently ignorant of not only the government he runs, but also of the news breaking around him.”

Sirota continues:

I, of course, don’t buy that at all. I don’t buy that a constitutional lawyer and legal scholar didn’t know that the FISA court is secret — aka the opposite of “transparent.” I don’t buy that he simply didn’t see any of the news showing that spying is happening in the United States. And I don’t buy that he didn’t know that there is evidence — both public and inside his own administration — of the NSA “actually abusing” its power.

I don’t buy any of that because, to say the least, it makes no sense. I just don’t buy that he’s so unaware of the world around him that he made such statements from a position of pure ignorance. On top of that, he has a motive. Yes, Obama has an obvious political interest in trying to hide as much of his administration’s potentially illegal behavior as possible, which means he has an incentive to calculatedly lie. For all of these reasons, it seems safe to suggest that when it comes to the NSA situation, the president seems to be lying.

So in terms of Obama’s latest speech on the NSA, if you read between the lines—or just ignore the president’s words and pay attention to his actions—it’s clear that nothing is going to change. The NSA will continue to abuse its power by spying on Americans’ phone calls and emails. They will continue to collect metadata on our various communications and activities. And they will continue to carry out their surveillance in secret, with no attempts at transparency or accountability.

  1. Hitler, etc revised history also. A big priority was to teach the children that the “new” government was good.

‘When an opponent declares, “I will not come over to your side,” I calmly say, “Your child belongs to us already…. What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community.’ Adolf Hitler (1889-1945), German dictator. speech, Nov. 6, 1933. Quoted in William L. Shirer, “Education in the Third Reich,” ch. 8, The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich (1959)

”The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to permit the conquered Eastern peoples to have arms. History teaches that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by doing so”. Adolf Hitler (1889-1945), April 11, 1942, quoted in Hitlers Tischegesprache Im Fuhrerhauptquartier 1941-1942.

“Politicians brought the Nazis to power and started the war. They are the ones who brought about these disgusting crimes.” Karl Doenitz, German admiral and would-be fuehrer after Hitler

“Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play.” Joseph Goebbels, Minister of Propaganda, Nazi Germany

”The United States should get rid of its militias”. Joseph Stalin, 1933 (And they did, sort of)

“I never got any complaints.” Assistant Commandant at Aushwitz, 11/01/1964

Some of the words of those who supported Hitler’s regime, etc:

Kissinger at 1992 Bilderberg Group meeting: “Today Americans would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order; tomorrow they will be grateful. This is especially true if they were told there was an outside threat from beyond, whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will plead with world leaders to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well being granted to them by their world government.” Henry Kissinger

One of the first treasonous judges:

”We hold that the Constitution does not forbid the states minor intrusions into an individual’s body under stringently limited conditions”. William J Brennan, Associate Justice, US Supreme Court. Majority opinion in 5-4 ruling that blood tests of drunken drivers do not constitute self-incriminating evidence, 20 Jun 66 (I did say “one of the”.)

“There is nothing new in the realization that the Constitution sometimes insulates the criminality of a few in order to protect the privacy of us all”. Antonin Scalia, Associate Justice, US Supreme Court. Majority opinion in 6-3 ruling that refused to expand police powers to search or seize evidence that they suspect may be stolen, 3 Mar 87 (He kept his contract and oath here, but later on did not)

This was a classic for the USA and her legitimate government, and in the year 2003!.

In Silveira v. Lockyer, 328 F.3d 567 (2003), Judge Alex Kozinski of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reminded us that the Second Amendment is not about duck hunting:

“All too many of the other great tragedies of history – Stalin’s atrocities, the killing fields of Cambodia, the Holocaust, to name but a few – were perpetrated by armed troops against unarmed populations. Many could well have been avoided or mitigated, had the perpetrators known their intended victims were equipped with a rifle and twenty bullets apiece, as the Militia Act required here. … If a few hundred Jewish fighters in the Warsaw Ghetto could hold off the Wehrmacht for almost a month with only a handful of weapons, six million Jews armed with rifles could not so easily have been herded into cattle cars.
“My excellent colleagues have forgotten these bitter lessons of history. The prospect of tyranny may not grab the headlines the way vivid stories of gun crime routinely do. But few saw the Third Reich coming until it was too late. The Second Amendment is a doomsday provision, one designed for those exceptionally rare circumstances where all other rights have failed – where the government refuses to stand for re-election and silences those who protest; where courts have lost the courage to oppose, or can find no one to enforce their decrees. However improbable these contingencies may seem today, facing them unprepared is a mistake a free people get to make only once.
“Fortunately, the Framers were wise enough to entrench the right of the people to keep and bear arms within our constitutional structure. The purpose and importance of that right was still fresh in their minds, and they spelled it out clearly so it would not be forgotten.” Judge Alex Kozinski

    And our forefathers:
“The right of the people to keep and bear…arms shall not be infringed. A well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained to arms, is the best and most natural defense of a free country…” James Madison, I Annals of Congress 434 [June 8, 1789]

“Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any bands of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States” Noah Webster in `An Examination into the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution’, 1787, a pamphlet aimed at swaying Pennsylvania toward ratification, in Paul Ford, ed., Pamphlets on the Constitution of the United States, at 56(New York, 1888)

Obama is a treasonous, lying, ID thief, scum. He is not alone in having that distinction (except for the ID theft. Bush 1, Clinton’s – yes, plural, Bush 2, and Obama. Do NOT forget those in their administrations or the “US” Military generals who were also involved in destroying our nation for their own powers to be increased.

It is PAST time for charges – and there are many, arrests – many here also, and prosecutions. But look at this way, LOTS of jobs will open up. Not just those as representatives. Oh, and BOTH the democratic and republican parties will be dissolved, those who have also had a hand in this will be charged, arrested held for trial.

Those in the “governmen”t bureaucracies – both federal and state – involved in treasonous and unAmerican actions will need to be replaced (those not abolished, hopefully most). then all of the businesses that took corporate welfare and moved out of the USA to destroy our country and work/ worked with the traitors will all need replaced. Those that closed their companies down rather then to give in will re open and need employees. Many teachers will either leave our nation or never teach again – not even dog raining – they “just did their job” working to deliberately destroy our children from a (supposed to be) free society.

All who assisted in the UN’s Agenda 21 – which is treason against the USA – in any way will be arrested and charged.

  2. The NSA, TSA, DHS, CIA, FBI are currently – and some always were – treasonous orgaizations. Some like the DHS, TSA, and the NSA were created solely to destroy the US Constitution, our country, our people. They who work in those agencies will deserve EVERYTHING they will get.

Those who are in “higher” offices deserve to hang outside the WH.

  3. Thank you john Whitehead, Cal and Deborah.
As we American Patriots ramp up, so will they.
They are going to try to stay one step ahead of us
at all times. They do have the advantage of nearly
unlimited amounts of our funds and the head start they
have given themselves BUT we are gaining ground and picking
up speed by the minute. They do have the cowardly drones,
the UN and a few million brain dead jack booters. BUT we
have 30 million veterans and many more millions of hard core Patriots
that know EXACTLY whats going on and who is responsible.
The great deception is out of the bag and it isnt working anymore.
Just as Jefferson said “Enlighten the people generally (speak truth
openly in public) and tyranny will vanish like spirits at the
dawn of the day”. I hope all it will take to save and restore our
country is pressing more truth into the public’s minds, but i
really dont believe that they are just going to shrink back into
their holes and go away after spending MANY decades and many trillions
of our labor on their plans for the destruction of the United States
and the affliction of their world government upon planet Earth.
They have come to far to turn back now. BE PREPARED for
a massive False Flag event as you RTI and grow Oath Keepers.
Do not be deceived by anyone or anything. they know their time
is running out, because the Sleeping Giant is stirring and he is pissed.
Stay close to your brothers and sisters, get out to meetings
with your local Oath Keepers. Train with us, prep with us, get
active with your OK brothers and sisters and make this the year
of Justice and the return of our great Republic and our Bill of
Rights. The time for excuses and laziness is over. Your dying
country needs you. Sound off and answer her call.

    Your brother,
    -Darin M. Bowers
    Oath Keepers of Ohio

  4. “Your Dying Country needs you”……That is a snippet, and almost VERBATIM, of the lead line on the sign that I trapsed around the GETTYSBURG GUN show with today……..TRUMPETING the coming event *** “Operation American Spring” *** beginning on MAY 16, 2014. The editor here is investigating and said he would make a statement that represented OATHKEEPERS….

Passing out pamphlets is a slow process, but people talk, and they talk. HEY, Thomas Paine’s little dissertation was ‘fairly’ successful, and indeed pivotal, and that was accomplished absent modern technology.

Look for the ‘events’ of MAY 16, 2014 onward to be a PERFECT opportunity for BIG BROTHER to perpetrate the aforementioned “False-flag” event in DC and manipulating it in to a “Domestic Terror Attack” by PATRIOTS attempting to Preserve what little is left of Lady Liberty’s dignity (The US Constitution)…….
