He also states the sad truth that the biggest reason we are where we are today as a country is because our parents, and then we too, were so focused on making ends meet and making a living that we did not pay enough attention to our Republic, and we have nearly lost it.
Right after briefing I drove home and grabbed the World Book Encyclopedia and took it with me on patrol. I read the Constitution every second I was not busy with anything else. I loved it, especially the Bill Of Rights.
I was going through old papers today, throwing out some old stuff that my kids would never know what to do with, and I started to think that maybe I had something to say here on Oath Keepers that shouldn’t be thrown away. So, here goes…
16 years later I reaffirm my pledge to the American people that I will honor my oath, now, and forever. During these trying times people tend to overlook the simplest of god given unalienable rights. Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
I took the oath in 1970 when I enlisted in the USAF. I remember that those words hit something deep in me
Those words mean more now than ever. We’re the goods guys, dammit. Our country is on a slippery slope. Our country needs us to live that oath, not just recite the words.
It is very personal to me and all of us. I may not know what I can do as one individual, but I do believe there is strength in numbers.
I’ve taken the oath as a serviceman & federal employee, 6 times. It is one of the greatest honor & privilege a citizen can do.I’m proud to have joined Oath Keepers a couple of months back
Pa said in a few days you will take the most important Oath of your life. He said, I knew in WWII I was fighting against Hitler, but it was not until 4-5 years later I realized I fought for our Constitution.

I took my first Oath in September of 1984 at MCRD San Diego. I have taken it at least a half dozen times since then. Every time it reinforces my commitment to our Constitution.
I took it of sound mind and without reservation. I fully understand what it may entail. The domestic enemies of the United States will never be its people.
I am an Active National Guard supply sergeant and former Artilleryman and 3 time Iraq veteran. I have taken the oath of enlistment 4 times
I ask the “rookies” that when it comes down to the “nut cutting” who’s side will you be on, the founding fathers who made this Country so great or the tyrants that are in power now? I took the Oath twice and will uphold it two fold.
When Thomas Jefferson wrote the words, “We hold these truths to be self evident…,” he was just putting an emphasis on something that was already understood by the people of his time.
I’m here to do what ever I can help protect this country and my family from being subjected to oppression and the impending and upcoming tyranny that our government intends to impose on us.
