In short, I was a NYC police officer at the time of the attack on the USA during 9/11/2001. I was assigned to the Bellvue morgue that day and many days after before retiring after 20 years of service to not only NYC but my state and country. sadly, this sate and country that i love have forgotten the lessons of that horrible day.
I want to reach out to my young brothers-in-arms who are confused about why they did all that they have done, only to come home to a country in shambles, a Government that is pointing the finger at them, and how they can make a REAL difference.
In a couple weeks it will be 40 years since I raised my right hand and recited the oath that so many had recited before me. I remember the significance I felt of that moment in my life then and even more so today.
I am a second class petty officer in the United States Navy. I love this organization because to be here is to understand the significance of one’s oath and the willingness to share ideas. I joined just to explore the world while ensuring that I was part of the solution instead of the problem.
God Bless you and God Bless America. Average Americans are waking up, and I for one am grateful for all the abilities you bring to the table. Thank you. I am sleeping a little better these nights.
I took my “OATH” in Dec. of 1950 and it is just as fresh in my mind now as it was then. It has remained with me for the past 59 years and will remain for a few more, the Good Lord willing.
Hello to all fellow Oath Keepers; I am a retired law enforcement officer/Probation and Parole. As a member of the Oklahoma Chapter, I am serving as Chaplain and would like to pass along some words of encouragement.
I served my country for 15 years minus a month, and served one year in Vietnam. I was 23-24 when I left to go with three children left behind. I was a Security Police and spent my time on the perimeter on a M-60 post and worked from dust to dawn 24-12.
I’ve served in the US Navy 1965-71 USS Ticonderoga CVA 14,RVN. USArmy 73-80 (LRRP). I tend to be a fairly level headed, mild mannered person but what I see going on in Washington makes my blood boil.
First off I have to say that I am impressed with this group or otherwise I wouldn’t have signed up. I am a retired USAF Cop with over 22 years of service to my country and feel that just because I retired doesn’t mean that the Oath I swore to protect my Country was terminated with my active duty status.
I took The Oath to, Serve, Protect, and Defend the Constitution of the United States of America, against all enemies, foreign and domestic… the first time on 12 May 1974 at the Coast Guard Recruiting Office in Dallas, Texas.
In 1963 as a sophomore in High School I joined my local volunteer fire departments. After 10 week of training was I admitted on a 6 month probation and provided with a copy of a document that I would sign in front of the Chief and the Assistant chief.
Three times I have taken a solemn oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America and to the people of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Now Therefore:
If our forefathers could only see what a mess we have now they would have already been at the fore front of change for our Nation. I happen to live in the Great State of West Virginia where Mountianeers Are Always Free
For several years I have been discouraged because the patriots have seemed to fade into the background as we carry on with our work and family obligations. I never expected to see our Republic crumble in my lifetime.
I was first introduced to the Oath Keepers prior to their establishment and knew it was a honorable group that wants to uphold our Constitution. As a student and defender of the Constitution, it is only appropriate that I makemy commitment personal and public.
I took the “Oath” on 4-2-1957. It is still sacred to me. I gave 12 yrs of my life to this country, and if need be, they can have the rest of it.
