Oaths are a way of life for me I guess. I took my first one at age 11 when I joined the Boy Scouts. 27 years later I still hold myself bound by it. I then swore an oath when I enlisted in the Army. Still keeping that one too.

I have been to many National Cemeteries. I have seen the rows and rows of white crosses…as far as the eye can see. Each cross representing a fallen brother who took an “Oath”. If anyone can view that and walk away without being moved in some way, he or she is emotionally and morally bankrupt.

I took an oath quite a few years ago as a sworn police officer, and that oath meant everything to me. I went through the training at the police academy, and did very well. They prepared us for everything, accidents, investigation, firearms, self defense, defensive driving, etc.
