Air Force Unit Raids Las Vegas Gun Store | August 21st, 2011

Citadel used to sell firearms but got out of the “gun business” a few years ago because it was no longer worth it due to all of the regulatory requirements and dealing with the bureaucracy of the ATF. They now only sell ammunition and firearms accessories, but have expanded their business to include preparedness items like generators, MRE’s, camping gear, etc. John also operates Silver State Mint and produced the Oath Keepers silver coins. John had not heard of any local request by the FBI but appreciated the heads up and we keep an eye out. – Terry Flink

Rise and Fall of Quartzsite, Arizona’s Emergency Airstrip | August 17th, 2011

The council also directed town manager, Alex Taft, to assist Mr. Oldham with preparing and submitting an application to the BLM for the runway extension. The very next day Mr. Oldham submitted a request to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to gain an official airstrip designator that would have placed the Quartzsite Emergency Airstrip on FAA Sectional Charts. This was an important step to inform all general aviation pilots of a safe place to land in the event of an in-flight emergency. All was well and Quartzsite once again had a safe place for aircraft to land.

An Empire Strikes Home _ Part Three | August 15th, 2011

So. The State Department is waging an Info War, according to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. If an external suggestion coming from a concentrated corporate program or a government policy program attempts to influence how one thinks or perceives, what should you and I think of that? Isn’t that mental intrusion, and therefore a form of mental aggression? Is there any other way to view this aside from its frontal direct meaning, that we are being attacked by a policy which is intent upon intruding into our very own minds where it seeks to influence our thoughts and perceptions?

Brandon Smith: Obama Readies Citizen Spies For Action | August 11th, 2011

By Brandon Smith
Alt-Market.com
I think at this point it is fair to say that the name “Barack Obama” has become irrevocably synonymous with the phrase “Brownshirts”, and with very good reason. Riding the euphoric wave of a Prozac addled collectivist saturated puppy-love election season, the teleprompter dependent basketball playing android immediately [...]

The Radical Cop Looks At OATH KEEPERS | August 8th, 2011

If what they profess they stand for looks familiar, it should because it reflects the philosophical underpinnings of our Founding Fathers when they constructed the Articles of Confederation (1787) and the United States Constitution (1789). These beliefs also form the construct of what every police officer and armed forces members swears to (your Oath of Office modified) when entering the public service. Basically, the members are reaffirming their commitment to the ideologies established by John Adams, James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, et al. – Keith R. Lavery, for Officer dot com

Warning: US Loses AAA Credit Rating. Consequences Will Be Dire | August 7th, 2011

Around the world, starting Monday, all eyes are on the markets. The tension is palpable. The uncertainty is ample. And anger is heavy in the air. As predicted, the debt ceiling deal was not only NOT enough to assuage economic fears, it actually exacerbated them, triggering a flight from the Dow, and creating a decisive opportunity for ratings agency S&P to cut the once perfect U.S. credit rating from AAA to AA+.

At Alt-Market, we often talk about points of balance, and how certain moments in history become highly visible indicators of balance lost. If we pay close attention, and know what we are looking for, these moments can be recognized, allowing us time to shield ourselves from the explosion and the resulting financial shrapnel. The past two weeks have culminated into one of these defining events that tell us the tide has fully turned, and something new and dangerous is just over the horizon. The question now is; what should we expect?

The nature of the credit downgrade situation is not necessarily “unprecedented” in history, but it is surely unprecedented on the scale we see currently in the U.S. It is difficult to predict how exactly the investment world will react. Some consequences, though, are probable, if not inevitable. Let’s examine the events we are likely to see in the coming weeks as well as the coming months, as nations attempt to adjust to America’s final plunge…

Brandon Smith: Candid Interview With Beelzebub T. McGlobalist | August 2nd, 2011

McGlobalist: Psychology, my boy. Psychology. It’s not enough to force people to accept centralization, or even to trick them into believing it doesn’t exist. Eventually, you have to make them ASK for centralization. They have to believe that it was their decision all along to relinquish their sovereignty. Nation states have served their purpose. Now, we feel its time to shed them like so much dead skin and move on. Think about it! We create a problem, then, we offer a predetermined solution which the peasants automatically cling to because most of them are too apathetic to help their own situation. When they finally realize how much they have lost in the process, the only culprits they have left to single out for blame are themselves. In the meantime, we can sit back and relax in relative obscurity. Elitists have been playing this game for centuries. I’m amazed that you people haven’t caught on yet. It’s the freaken’ digital age for crying out loud!

To reach Hardyville, you must grind your way up to Lonelyheart Pass, then slither on ice into the Great Brown Valley. From Lost Fortune, count 4,387,004 sagebrush bushes and you’ll find yourself at the one-and-only stoplight in the middle of nowhere — Hardyville.

Quartzsite: AZ AG PR As Two Cops Fired | July 30th, 2011

“…there is reasonable cause to believe that there has been a violation of the Open Meeting Law, inasmuch as the public was excluded. The meeting was held under the misconception that an emergency meeting can be conducted without the public present. Independently of the question of whether the Town Council had a legitimate reason to hold an emergency meeting, even proper emergency meetings must allow the public to be present.” – Arizona Attorney General Press Release

Quartzsite | July 28th, 2011

Taken aback, I brought this up to several Oath Keepers friends, officers and Board members in following days – what should we think of approximately eighty percent of a small city’s police force standing up and signing allegations against the Chief of Police and the City Council? It struck us as darn good Oath Keeping. Had we stumbled across ten peace officer Oath Keepers in one small town in the desert? While the Quartzsite Ten are not dues-paying members in Oath Keepers, we are proud that these peace officers have become willing to risk their careers by making a stand against corruption and injustice. I salute them for being true Americans and following their consciences.

But what should we make of the Police Chief arresting the Mayor? What was going on in that town?

Rob Natelson: The Unintended Constitutional Mistakes of “Cut, Cap, and Balance” | July 28th, 2011

“True, the courts generally uphold those programs now, due to a misunderstanding of the meaning of the Constitution’s General Welfare Clause. But over the last few years originalist legal scholars have labored to correct that problem—to explain to judges and other citizens that the General Welfare Clause is a limit on taxes rather than an authorization on spending.” – Rob Natelson
