Check it out:

After entering the capitol for an annual meet and greet with legislators, the state’s sheriffs were confronted and given an ultimatum, disarm or leave the building.

“One of the senators, who they wouldn’t tell us, complained because we were armed in the building,” Wagoner county sheriff Bob Colbert told KTUL News.

According to Colbert, the senator not only refused to identify, but also ordered others in the capitol to relay the message.

“Everybody in that building knew who we were,” Colbert said.

After being given their options, all 40 sheriffs refused to comply with the senator’s demand and walked out of the building, firearms holstered.

“So we all packed up and left,” Colbert said. “Pretty sad day for me.”

Note in the video the Sheriff said the State Patrol didn’t see anything wrong with the Sheriffs being armed…
Did the legislature have any “problem” with the State Patrolmen being “armed”?

There has been a “war” on with the “Sheriffs” being the only elected law officer, and the “Elite” has had it out for them and it will only escalate.

It sounds to me like it is time for the good people of OK to seek out and remove that senator from office by any means necessary.

If he or she is allowed to continue to be in office it is like allowing a cancer to fester.

The Senator must be afraid of guns. Maybe one jumped up at some time and shot at him or her. If the Senator can’t trust a sheriff with a gun he or she darn couldn’t trust a criminal with one

Good for the Sheriffs for keeping a cool head and “sticking to their guns.” Shame on the State Police for not telling the complaining legislator to go kick them out herself.

Interesting this senator serves in a Red State. Maybe he was on something that heightened his paranoia, made him irrational.

[Editor's Note: Yes, Christopher, he may have been on a serious drug called "Statism". Statism is the opiate of the masses, eh? ;) ]

Any citizen should be able to carry in the capital building, (or any govt building). Who do they think paid for those buildings? Good for the Sheriffs for walking but the real problem is denying any law abiding citizen the God given right of defense.

All of these Oklahoma Sheriffs need to get some Oath Keepers materials along with Sheriff Richard Macks book…The County Sheriff: America’s Last Hope. Maybe now they understand how the people feel about the criminals in government.

I thought even gun control fanatics were ok with armed police and military?

I think the situation can be looked at from several sides. But I feel the bottom line is that the Leaders of the Federal Government don’t feel comfortable with weapons in any other peoples hands then their “chosen” few. I think that the Sheriffs around the country are a bright spot in the future of law enforcement. The senator if so offended or fearing for his/her safety should have had the courage to approach the sheriffs directly.
