CT Residents are voicing their outrage over the recent e-Cert passing of an unconstitutional bill in the CT Legislature. The 138 page Senate Bill 1160 was introduced to the CT General Assembly on Wednesday morning (April 04, 2013) was voted on and passed by CT Senators and Representatives on the same day and signed into law the next during a victory celebration by CT Governor Dannel Malloy. Apparently the only reasons the emergency certification designation was enacted was to avoid scheduling a public hearing and to not allow adequate time to analyze and fully comprehend the consequences of such a heinous piece of legislation. The public outrage toward this type of legislation and similar proposals has been apparent. In excess of 1,000 citizens submitted or showed up to present personal testimony at each of the 2 public hearings scheduled since the Newtown, CT tragedy in December. The Sub-Committee formed by the Governor, the Sandy Hook Advisory Committee held hearings and then another scheduled hearing to disclose over 100 proposed new Gun Control Bills for the upcoming session. I am sure the tenor, passion, significant knowledge of the issues and furor over the trashing of the 2nd Amendment demonstrated by the public during these hearings prompted the Governor to enact the e-certification process. He and his cronies in the Legislatures do not care at all what the public says or wants. It is only about their personal agenda and they do not let the restrictions of appropriate governmental protocol or public opinion get in the way of accomplishing it.
It has been apparent since December that the anti-gun zealots and the media were not going to let this horror and heartbreak pass without pushing through their anti-gun ideology and agenda. It is shameful how the pro Constitution supporters have been so falsely portrayed in the media as caring more about guns than our children. The fact that the citizens against all these unconstitutional bills, in a number of states such as CT, significantly outnumber the proponents of Gun Control was summarily dismissed and distorted by the media and liberal politicians. Washington and Hartford did not let this horrific tragedy go to waste. They manipulated the system, bent or broke existing laws and pushed through this trash in the name of compassion and safety for the children. Virtually none of the components of this new bill will do anything to protect the children of our state. In fact it only makes it more difficult for us to protect ourselves and our own families.
The call for civil disobedience and non- compliance of the mandatory weapons registration requirements of the bill are headlining the posts on social media, in private discussions and liberty group meetings all over the state. Classifying law-biding citizens as felons and criminals for asserting their 2nd Amendment rights has truly awakened gun owners and freedom loving citizens and raised the cry of “Tyranny” all over the Constitution state. Those gun owners who might be classified as Hunters and Sportsman have now joined the fray due to the newly enacted prohibitions on the purchase of ammunition in the state.
Many CT residents and manufacturing companies have already or will soon flee this state due to the massive tax burden and ever growing number of un-Constitutional restraints. However there as some, like myself and my family who will not give in or give up. We will stay, engage the enemies of freedom and continue to battle those whose plan is to diminish the power of the Constitution in our society. The ranks of the CT Oath Keepers and other liberty and 2nd Amendment groups such as the CT Citizens Defense League and the John Birch Society have increased dramatically since last December. So many people are finally waking up to what is happening in our society and are seeking organizations like these to get involved with. I know CCDL has grown from less than 1,500 members in December to over 5,000 today.
We believe as Militia Captain John Parker did just about 238 years ago this month . . . “Stand your ground; don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here!” I believe it has now begun. We have to hold our elected officials accountable, ferret out the enemies of the Constitution, shine the light of liberty upon them and send them all packing as we have done with all the other groups of tyrants that have attempted to corrupt our American values.

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut lawmakers announced a deal Monday on what they called some of the toughest gun laws in the country that were proposed after the December mass shooting in the state, including a ban on new high-capacity ammunition magazines like the ones used in the massacre that left 20 children and six educators dead.
The proposal includes new registration requirements for existing magazines that carry 10 or more bullets, something of a disappointment for some family members of Newtown victims who wanted an outright ban on the possession of all high-capacity magazines and traveled to the state Capitol on Monday to ask lawmakers for it.
The package also creates what lawmakers said is the nation's first statewide dangerous weapon offender registry, creates a new "ammunition eligibility certificate," imposes immediate universal background checks for all firearms sales, and extends the state's assault weapons ban to 100 new types of firearms and requires that a weapon have only one of several features in order to be banned.
