Drone Strikes On Americans At Home Possible – AG Holder

This article was written by Joe Wright and originally published at Activist Post

Battlefield USA just ratcheted up one notch with comments made by Attorney General Eric Holder to Senator Rand Paul. As the indefinite detention provision for American citizens within the NDAA as stated in sections 1021 and 1022 is still being hard fought in many states, drone use within U.S. borders is still being contested and the FAA has yet to release a concrete guide as to how many licenses have been granted for US flights, AG Holder would not rule out a drone strike against an American citizen on U.S. soil if he were to “imagine an extraordinary circumstance.” Worse yet, the nation’s leading legal adviser said unequivocally that it would be constitutional.

“It is possible, I suppose, to imagine an extraordinary circumstance in which it would be necessary and appropriate under the Constitution and applicable laws of the United States for the President to authorize the military to use lethal force within the territory of the United States.”

Paul disagreed:

“The U.S. Attorney General’s refusal to rule out the possibility of drone strikes on American citizens and on American soil is more than frightening – it is an affront to the Constitutional due process rights of all Americans,” he said in a statement. (Source)

Holder’s statements also come at a time when civil libertarians and government officials alike are not clear about the scope of the drone program and the government’s legal justification for such actions abroad or at home.

The architect of the so-called “targeted killing playbook,” John Brennan, has called drone strikes, “ethical, and just” while claiming that there hadn’t been a single collateral death in Pakistan from drone strikes. This is just one example of who is in control of ensuring our civil liberties and human rights are protected. Eric Holder is another.

Brennan’s playbook seeks to exempt drone strikes and to reassure the public that the greatest care is being taken when they decide in weekly White House meetings who should be part of the Disposition Matrix, being murdered outside the court of law . . . including U.S. citizens. So far, this has been discussed as actions taken abroad. But, as Holder stated in response to Rand Paul’s question of the legality and president’s authority to conduct strikes on American soil, he hedged by stating

that Paul’s question was “entirely hypothetical [and] unlikely to occur,” but cited the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks as the type of incidents that might provoke such a response.

“Were such an emergency to arise, I would examine the particular facts and circumstances before advising the President on the scope of his authority,” he concluded.

As we should know quite well, “hypothetical” situations are a particular specialty of the U.S. government with 9/11 itself having so many holes in the official version that they likely have not all been completely identified yet. Operation Fast and Furious, on the other hand, is now a solid example of a contrived program designed for political ends, with Holder himself being a prime architect of the plot and cover up. He was actually found in contempt of Congress for failing to provide requested documents and was believed by many to be heading for resignation. This is the man whose advice we are still subjected to. (Source)

Holder has proven himself to once again be an absolute menace to liberty and freedom. His words are meant to pave the way for a discussion in the public mind about what might be acceptable. Perhaps we can just hope for a hypothetical situation never to arise that would unleash armed drones on any American suspected, charged, and sentenced to death outside of their constitutional right to due process, but if even recent history serves as instruction, to do so we would have to be the most gullible nation the world has ever seen.

That does NOT make it lawful. It just makes them attacking us, which is NOT lawful, and anyone dies – MURDER, etc – not just treason.

It is NOT lawful. It just makes those who actually run the drones criminals and traitors against the USA. They took an oath to Support and Defend the US Constitution, not an individual leader, ruler, office, or entity.

    Pretty pathetic and disgusting.

Why does Eric Holder still have a job?!

Maybe this is what it’s going to take for the majority to finally stop talking, and ACT.

When the bombs start dropping, the missiles start launching from these drones, hitting American Citizens homes, vehicles, and when Citizens begin disappearing for purposes of detention, it will be game time.

Maybe this and the banning of the 2nd Amendment is what it’s going to take.

    Bring it, Please!

Robert, it is not the American people who are evil, though some are. We have been conned, deceived and otherwise misled. The evil ones have used our basic goodness to enslave us.
