Eustace Conway, Modern Day Thoreau

Eustace Conway is a Mountain Man, trying to live a simple life in the Blue Ridge Mountains. He has no electricity and gets his water from a stream. He teaches others about the past, and how people lived simply and close to the Earth. He is, in effect, a modern day Henry David Thoreau. The Government, however, after 26 years of leaving him alone, has decided to now harass him. Living simply does not meet their codes. – Shorty Dawkins, Associate Editor

    GOD BLESS OUR HEROES
    Dedicated to Eustace Conway, Folkhero

When heroes are hated and good men are jailed,
When women with mercy are killed with a sword,
When babies are licensed and tracked with a chip,
When no one can pray to the Lord.
This is the time we are living in now,
Though surely this isn’t God’s way,
May our Heroes stand tall against all of these traps
No matter what the evil ones say.

So take up your guns and your Bible,
Stand tall till we take victory,
We’ll stay peaceful as long as they let us,
but peaceful or not, we’ll stay free.

When men cannot live as they want to,
When families are all split apart,
When children are taught to hate parents,
There’s nothing but pain in my heart,
But no one can dictate my mindset,
And no one can take love from me,
I dedicate my life to freedom,
For as long as I live, I’ll live free.

So take up your guns and your Bible,
Stand tall till we take victory,
We’ll stay peaceful as long as they let us,
But peaceful or not, we’ll stay free.

Our heroes will carry the day soon,
Our men and our God will prevail,
The cheaters who’ve stolen our freedoms,
Will all end up dead or in jail,
For such is the cost of their treason,
    Their lies and their brutality,
Though good men abhor using violence,
We’ll do what we must to stay free.

So take up your guns and your Bible,
Stand tall till we take victory,
We’ll stay peaceful as long as they let us,
But peaceful or not, we’ll stay free.

Linda, here are the Lyrics to a song I wrote. You might like it.

As It Was Meant To Be

    Here, in this valley wide,
    With those I love beside.
    Here, with my family,
    Living a life that’s free.
Here with the friends we love.
    Mountains that rise above.
    Sharing a life that’s free.
As it was meant to be.

    Tending our fields each day.
    Raising what crops we may.
    Watching the children play.
    No words can ever say,
    Thoughts that I hold inside,
    Seeing this valley wide,
    Knowing this life that’s free.
As it was meant to be.

    Don’t think you can command
    Any who work this land.
Free men, both strong and brave.
    Never to be a slave.
Here will we make our stand.
Here on our own sweet land.
    Living a life that’s free.
As it was meant to be.

    Living a life that’s free.
As it was meant to be.
