We will never disarm. We will never surrender our military pattern, semi-automatic rifles and the full capacity magazines, parts, and ammunition that go with them.  The fundamental purpose of the Second Amendment is to preserve the military power of We the People so we will have effective means to resist tyranny. Regardless of what unholy, unconstitutional filth issues from the mouths of oath breakers in “Mordor on the Potomac” our answer is MOLON LABE.

“Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force: Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined.”- Patrick Henry

We will not allow our children to be disarmed. We will pass on those military pattern rifles, magazines, and ammunition to our children and our children’s children.

Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birth-right of an American… [T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people. – Tench Coxe, 1788

We will die in battle before we give up our arms and leave our children in slavery.

In the coming days, we will be adding specific pledges for peace officers, active duty military, veterans, and patriots/gun owners. Until those are ready, this is our general Oath Keepers pledge, on behalf of the entire membership of Oath Keepers. Please check back often for the other versions of the pledge as they become available, at the molonlabepledge.org site and at oathkeepers.org

When the more particular pledges are done, we will invite you to sign onto the pledge that fits you best. If you sign onto this general one, you may also still sign onto the particular pledges when they are ready. You may sign anonymously, or you may choose to do as I have done (http://oathkeepers.org/oath/2012/12/19/my-personal-pledge-of-resistance-against-any-attemp-to-disarm-us-by-means-of-an-assault-weapons-ban/ ), placing your “John Hancock” out there for “King Obama” to read clearly. That is your choice, and there is benefit to both courses of action.

It is necessary for there to be a visible tip of the “patriot iceberg,” so the domestic enemies know we are serious – to know that we are everywhere, both in the ranks of the current serving and among the population. It is also good to have a large mass under the surface that is harder to quantify and harder to track. That keeps the bad guys awake at night, wondering how big that unseen mass really is, and where it is. It causes strategic uncertainty in their furtive little minds – and that is good.

Whether you choose to be part of that visible tip who sign their full name to the pledges, or part of the relatively anonymous mass under the surface (keep in mind that true privacy is extremely difficult online), it is critical for you to send a message that you are here, you are not afraid, and you will resist. And the most important audience for that message is the American people, so they will know that there are still men and women of honor who will stand tall and meet the test. It also helps each of us to know that we are not alone in this fight. There will be a defender of the Constitution to your right, and to your left, and you should not despair.

Together, we can save what is left of the Republic if we all STAND NOW (or at least assure that it will not fall without a real fight), so let us let go of fear, and step up, shoulder-to-shoulder with all those who are willing to defend our homes and the Bill of Rights, which are worth fighting for, as Marine General Smedley Butler, the warrior’s warrior, urged us. History is watching. Our children are watching.

“Do not give in to evil but proceed ever more boldly against it.”

For the Republic,

I’d like to repost this, here, if it’s alright:

The only way we’re going to stop them is by stopping the use of fiat money. Not even refusing to pay taxes or to stop using government services can stop them if they have the printing press:

War and the Fed | Lew Rockwell

And check out this quote from John Maynard Keynes:

The Project Gutenberg eBook, The Economic Consequences of the Peace, by John Maynard Keynes

Lenin is said to have declared that the best way to destroy the Capitalist System was to debauch the currency. By a continuing process of inflation, governments can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their citizens. By this method they not only confiscate, but they confiscate arbitrarily; and, while the process impoverishes many, it actually enriches some. The sight of this arbitrary rearrangement of riches strikes not only at security, but at confidence in the equity of the existing distribution of wealth. Those to whom the system brings windfalls, beyond their deserts and even beyond their expectations or desires, become “profiteers,”, who are the object of the hatred of the bourgeoisie, whom the inflationism has impoverished, not less than of the proletariat. As the inflation proceeds and the real value of the currency fluctuates wildly from month to month, all permanent relations between debtors and creditors, which form the ultimate foundation of capitalism, become so utterly disordered as to be almost meaningless; and the process of wealth-getting degenerates into a gamble and a lottery.

Lenin was certainly right. There is no subtler, no surer means of overturning the existing basis of society than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose.

Paper isn’t money. It’s a means to steal from us and to grow government.

    They Thought They Were Free

    From Washingtons Blog:

In the classic history of Nazi Germany, They Thought They Were Free, Milton Mayer writes:

“What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, little by little, to being governed by surprise; to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if the people could not understand it, it could not be released because of national security. And their sense of identification with Hitler, their trust in him, made it easier to widen this gap and reassured those who would otherwise have worried about it.

“This separation of government from people, this widening of the gap, took place so gradually and so insensibly, each step disguised (perhaps not even intentionally) as atemporary emergency measure or associated with true patriotic allegiance or with real social purposes. And all the crises and reforms (real reforms, too) so occupied the people that they did not see the slow motion underneath, of the whole process of government growing remoter and remoter.

Similarly, America has – little by little – gone from a nation of laws to a nation of powerful men making laws in secret. Indeed, even Congress doesn’t know half of what others are doing.

I feel a certain pride knowing that their within the heart of America where there are people who stand for what our country is founded on. People with honor and back bone who understand the concepts of Freedom, honor, courage and commitment. Thanks for being here it makes it easier to stand for America

    Matt Says:

It seems a dire situation has come upon us my brothers. We are having our hand forced. The question now becomes thus. Will you wait until your neighbors are being stolen away into the night? Will you wait until they come to knock? Surely the first to take physical action shall be named a terrorist. But surely with the signing of the pen the King has taken such an action. Who among us shall stand? And among those that stand who shall lead? We are unique among our people, you understand. Weather we have faced death everyday as a peace officer, weather we faced it as a paramedic or firefighter. We have faced it. From the rat holes of Vietnam to IED highway in Afghanistan. We are warriors, soldiers. I may not agree with alot of the things I have been ordered to do. They were orders. As a young man I fought for freedom and the IDEA of freedom. Blindly so I am loathe to admit. Now I stand on my own principles. And those principles that have been handed down to me from my forefathers. I think we have been sorely underestimated. We, who have seen the horrors of war, genocide, death, we know what will come if we refuse to do anything. I say it is not enough to merely pledge, and wait. To do such a thing is surely to invite disaster to our doorsteps, one at a time, with no real damage done to those that would have us kneel and lick that hand that feeds us. I am no scholar. Nor am I a great man, nor am I without fault, or sin. I am a wolf. I have been trained to be a wolf. I have lived as a wolf. And I know a wolf when I see one. We are being attacked. More importantly, the sheep we have been trained to protect are being attacked. This will not be easy. The very ones we are sworn to shall turn against us. The very world. But I did not start or engineer this meeting. I did not ask for this. But I shall not bend my knee. To any man, except in respect and love. So, having said my peace, I ask you this Stewart. The King has signed our fate knowing we would rather die than submit to tyranny. What now? You say to sign petitions. They are for naught I say. You cant legally try to overturn a non legal non binding law. I would have you stand, organize, and instead of fighting in your doorway to protect yourself fight against the tyrants to protect the country. We say molon labe. While such words are courageous, they take a defensive stance. Which works at the hot gates where the 300 stood. With no enemy behind them, and a narrow pass to hold. Can we afford to say such things? I say give em hell. I know the oath keepers mission. I have sworn the pledge. What is your mission Stewart? Lead us. We are scattered. We are divided. Which can be a weapon in and upon itself, but without cohesion we will be broken. I know your kind. Your the guy who rolls into the fob with a 6 inch beard and tells a joe “hey relax kid, the wars out there, not in here.” Your a leader. Myth. Legend. Be that man. Or point me in the right direction.

    Patrick C. Says:

If you say Molon Labe, it had better not be a bluff. If you do not accept – if you don’t RELISH the thought of bleeding out with it in your hands, then you probably should never own, or touch, a battle rifle.

That said, if the ideal of liberty and self control really is a deep love in your heart, then you will joyfully accept the risk of standing in between it and those who would see it exchanged for a more fashionable, more politically correct way of life, tyranny.

Take a pledge like that with the full knowledge that it will bring the attention of forces that do not love you.

    Stay frosty y’all.

Comfort and peace of mind are great! Now I have no peace of mind and my comfort I will give up before it will have a chance to be taken from me. I have already started over from scratch over and over again just in three decades. I can start over and over again. My comfort my surroundings are material, I can’t take with me anyway. I go where my cloud leads me for I am free. Great post.

    Corey Rodgers Says:

    here’s an oathbreaker:

Houston Police Chief Charles McClelland talked about gun control, saying he stands behind President Barack Obama.

“I certainly see no reason why the public should have military style assault weapons,”

ever notice how the people who say this have never once instead said “we need to take guns away from criminals” ,

instead they actually openly say it as “the public” can’t have weapons.

question for any Texans – how’s the crime situation in Houston? i’m honestly asking because i don’t know – but if i had to place a bet right now my money’s on: not much different than chicago, detroit, los angeles, etc.
