WND: Walmart responds to ’suspended ammo’ story

Report states retail giant cutting orders, anticipating gun control

Date of story at WND – January 14 2013

The blogosphere has exploded with outrage in response to news that Walmart is suspending ammunition sales in anticipation of the Obama administration’s gun-control recommendations to Congress – but the retail giant tells WND the reports aren’t true.

“That information is inaccurate,” said Ashley Hardie, a spokeswoman located at Walmart’s corporate headquarters in Bentonville, Ark.

WND then asked whether the retail chain is cutting back on orders of ammunition.

“No,” Hardie said. “We’re continuing to serve our customers as we have in the past.”

She said Walmart’s ammunition sales policy has not changed, even amid talk of gun-control legislation in Washington, D.C.

The uproar began when the InvestmentWatch blog posted a story headlined, “Breaking & confirmed: Walmart is not going to order any more ammo.”

CNS News cited the report, and talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh mentioned it during his Monday show. CNS has since removed the report from its own site.

According to the InvestmentWatch report, a man claimed to have visited his local Walmart and noticed the store was “out of almost every kind of ammo.”

“The manager I talked to said they had not heard anything, but she tried to order some .223 as I was standing there. She said the order was being rejected by the corporate office. Said she had never had that happen.”

He added, “She called corporate as I was standing there. And was told this, ‘As of right now Walmart is not going to be making any new orders of ammo because of the upcoming decision on the Second Amendment.’ Said, ‘As of right now we are unsure of what new legislation might be coming, and because of this, we are suspending new orders. We will continue to sell what is already in stock in stores and at our distribution centers, but any new orders will not be shipped until the issue is resolved.’

“So after they run out, there will be no restocking until Obama makes his decision. How’s that change working out for you now?”

The InvestmentWatch posting also included an audio recording which was purportedly taken as a man called Walmart’s customer service line.

“I went to my local Walmart to go get some ammunition, and they said they were out,” the caller said. “I was looking for .223. Are you all still going to be selling ammunition? The lady seemed confused about whether they were going to get any more in stock.”

The person claiming to be a Walmart representative can be heard saying, “You know, there is going to be a new policy change, according to the federal gun control act, the new law that the president’s getting ready to enact.”

The caller then asked, “Well, you don’t have any idea what that says, do you? Is that saying you’re no longer going to carry ammunition?”

The man responded, “To be honest with you, I don’t know what the policy is going to be, but I know they, but I was told they’re going to be reviewing it.”

WND has not been able to verify whether the man on the call was, in fact, a customer service representative for Walmart.

Meanwhile, WND reader Sam Singleton said his local Walmart in Myrtle Beach, S.C., has a very short supply of ammunition. According to Singleton, the store claimed it had received a letter from corporate headquarters on the issue.

“The clerk said they only had what was left on the shelf and that there was a ‘hard lock’ on the reorders. She said they hadn’t been getting any replenishment and that just today the store had received a letter from the corporate office stating that they would not be able to order any replenishment of ammunition, other than some for shotguns.

“She said they were not stocking anything that could be used in an ‘assault-type rifle.’ I said, ‘This is ammunition I use for practice,’ and she said they were just told there was a ‘hard lock’ on ammo sales.”

Another WND reader, Patrick Clemons, reported a similar experience today after he visited the Walmart in Folsom, Calif.

WalMart gets corporate welfare, so why would they go against the US government.

They just do not want gun owners to stop all shopping there so that they would get hit in their pockets – which is smart marketing. This is my opinion – no fact for it (except for the corporate welfare and our government backing WalMart over other businesses to start the slow – at that time – destruction of the USA businesses and wages).

I used to write about it all the time, but people kept shopping there. /rolls eyes

Wal Marts in and around Killeen, Texas have either pulled everything but shotguns and bird shot off the shelves, or all of it has been bought up, along with ALL the semi auto rifles. When I asked when more 7.62 would come in, the man said, “No clue. Better just go to the gun show.” (right, me and everyone else in this state),

Now it would seem all King Barack has to do is not make any decision at all. 1. he all but halts the sale of defensive weapons without even lifting a finger, and 2. he doesn’t spend any political capitol.

I wouldn’t take anything a Walmart “associate” says as gospel. I was told some time mid last year by the clerk handling ammo that there was a limit as to how many rounds they could sell me at one time. Instead of arguing with the guy I went straight to the store manager and was there was no such rule. He escorted me back to the ammo area and told the clerk to give me what i wanted. I sometimes think these idiot clerks make up stuff as they go along to suit their own beliefs or desire to control people…. the typical low income clerk that has no personal power or any other power so they try to exercise their false authority over someone hoping they won’t question them. Needless to say, I never saw that clerk again. I imagine I wasn’t the only one he tried to pull that on and got fired.

The only way we’re going to stop them is by stopping the use of fiat money. Not even refusing to pay taxes or to stop using government services can stop them if they have the printing press:

And check out this quote from John Maynard Keynes:

The Project Gutenberg eBook, The Economic Consequences of the Peace, by John Maynard Keynes

Lenin is said to have declared that the best way to destroy the Capitalist System was to debauch the currency. By a continuing process of inflation, governments can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their citizens. By this method they not only confiscate, but they confiscate arbitrarily; and, while the process impoverishes many, it actually enriches some. The sight of this arbitrary rearrangement of riches strikes not only at security, but at confidence in the equity of the existing distribution of wealth. Those to whom the system brings windfalls, beyond their deserts and even beyond their expectations or desires, become “profiteers,”, who are the object of the hatred of the bourgeoisie, whom the inflationism has impoverished, not less than of the proletariat. As the inflation proceeds and the real value of the currency fluctuates wildly from month to month, all permanent relations between debtors and creditors, which form the ultimate foundation of capitalism, become so utterly disordered as to be almost meaningless; and the process of wealth-getting degenerates into a gamble and a lottery.

Lenin was certainly right. There is no subtler, no surer means of overturning the existing basis of society than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose.

Paper isn’t money. It’s a means to steal from us and to grow government.

Wal-Mart is lying to their customers. My local Wal-Mart in Virginia has been sold out of all pistol and rifle ammo for almost a month now. My local gun shop where I buy my guns and ammo has maintained it’s supply of ammo and as of yesterday still had all calibers including .223 available by the case. Does any reasonable person believe Wal-Mart with it’s buying power can’t get ammo from it’s vendors?
I understand the AR-15 shortage but they say they cannot get semi-auto’s even 22’s now. That is a diaper load. I wrote them and told them I’m done with Wal-Mart since they abandoned the Constution and our citizens in our time of need. Wal-Mart are huge contributers to Obama and I’m sure they both enjoy benefits from their pillow talk on forwarding their mutual agendas. Shame on Wal-Mart for being a poitical puppet. K-Mart pulled guns and ammo from their stores during Clintons Anti-Gun days, it was the beginning of their downward slide. Look at K-Mart stores now…. barely staying open. We take a lot of BS but when you cross the line even the BIG BOY’s can live to regret leaving us behind…….

Eh, I don’t shop at Wal Mart for guns and ammo anyway. That’s like asking your paperboy to perform open-heart surgery on you. You want guns and ammo? Go to a REAL gun store.

Its very simple. The Illuminati, who give Obama and Bush and Clinton and others their marching orders, want you disarmed. Then dead. Not necessarily in that order. Keep your arms and ammo, theyre the only thing keeping you all alive, im keeping mine. I agree about Walmart, those traitors have sold us all out, remember this.
