BenghaziGate: Keeping One’s Eye On The Ball
By Elias Alias
The Secretary of State is “invited” to testify? How handsomely respectful.
“Closed” hearings? How protectively beneficial – but what are they wanting to protect?
Here is an announcement on Fox News’ website, with some paragraphs from the article, found <here>
The House Foreign Affairs Committee has scheduled an open hearing for next Thursday on the Libya terror attack and has invited Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to testify, Fox News has learned.
The committee joins two others planning to hold hearings, albeit closed ones, that day…
The House Intelligence Committee will hold its closed hearing on the attack on Nov. 15, Fox News has learned. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, CIA Director David Petraeus and Matt Olsen, director of the National Counterterrorism Center, are expected to testify.
The Senate Intelligence Committee plans to meet the same day to discuss the Libya attack — that hearing will also be closed to the public.

It is up to the American people to take a deep breath, step back a step or two, stand up tall and demand an end to this insane secrecy which the criminals in Washington D. C. insist is government’s God-given right.
The Iran-Contra-Mena hearings prevented Representative Jack Brooks of Texas from exposing the fact of the shadow government, the “Continuity of Government (COG)” which Oliver North and others at the NSC and FEMA were cooking up. At the same time, those hearings, headed up by none other than John Kerry, (the same damage-control specialist who would later dilute rhetorically the results of the Senate investigation into BCCI), uncovered deliberate involvement by the CIA in international drug smuggling, including smuggling tons of illegal drugs into the United States.
We either have a representative government or we do not. If it is the proper government of ‘We The People’ this government owes the people the unvarnished truth. If “the consent of the governed” is necessary for legitimacy, then the people must know to what they are giving – or from what they are withholding – their consent. I submit that the only reason for secrecy, ever, is to betray the truth by denying truth to those who have a right to it.
I am in agreement with Glenn Beck in suggesting that a significant part of that truth is that the CIA has been arming terrorists, including al Qaeda, and that the lying rats in the media and on the Hill are pulling every trick in the book to keep the questions which surround BenghaziGate from pointing to that fact. And yes, Fox News is helping cover-up that fact.
I watched the one-hour Fox News special on Benghazi and not once did Fox News ask why the gentleman from Turkey was meeting with our Ambassador to Libya prior to the attack. No mention was made about the Muslim Brotherhood working in Turkey and Libya to designate the recipient of the arms going from Benghazi to Syrian rebels through Turkey. Fox News merely did a great job of unearthing who knew what, and when, as the attack unfolded. They did a good job, but they overlooked the mammoth reality suggested by the two ex-Navy SEALs who were allegedly in Libya to recover armaments which fell into rebel hands during last year’s revolution. The fact that Fox news will not discuss that one little problem speaks volumes.
It is bad enough that Petraeus allegedly violated his marriage vow, which of course indicates that he is only human after all, but which also indicates that he could violate his Oath to the Constitution as easily as he would violate his vow to his wife. That vow and that Oath are both sacred obligations, and a man with a character flaw which would succumb to the temptation to violate either would just as easily, if tempted strongly, violate the other.
It’s bad enough that the sex scandal itself is spreading and is now taking down yet another General in a position of extreme power, and that we have to learn through this scandal that our high-level “Brass” has need of “entertainment” as part of the perks of leadership in the military.
It’s bad enough that a biographer and “entertainer” let a cat fight sparked of female jealousy reveal to the FBI that severe security threats exist at the highest levels of military command.
It is bad enough that the White House lied to the American people and to the world.
But what is worse, what is so bad that every single player in this explosive scandal is willing to disgrace himself or herself in order to cover for it, is that it is now known that U.S. foreign policy involves arming terrorists groups including al Qaeda – and that the whole power structure representing the arms industry, the Defense contracting community, and what President Eisenhower loathed as the “military-industrial complex”, is hell-bent on denying it.
That is what is really bad.
The Warren Commission, for secret reasons, sealed its report about the assassination of President Kennedy initially for seventy-five years. (1) Why? Was the corruption which that commission had to hide so unspeakably and hideously ugly that it would have caused a revolution if the American people knew it? Was it to hide the fact that certain elements within the FBI and the CIA, and individuals such as G. H. W. Bush and Lyndon B. Johnson, were intimately or proximately involved in that assassination? Many reading here will yet be alive when that ban on the truth is lifted and the whole world will know what official secrecy has withheld from a nation who lost a President to a brutal public assassination.
But when will the hidden truth of these upcoming secret hearings on BenghaziGate be allowed into the knowledge of the American people? Why are they to be held in secret anyway? After all, is this secrecy a matter of “national security”, or one of “government security”? Would it bring down U.S. policy if the American people discover that the CIA and other elements within our government create our enemies, fund and arm our enemies, orchestrate our wars to keep a steady demand on the arms industry, which floats the Wall Street bubble and props up a false, plastic lifestyle based on consumption and perpetual war for perpetual peace?
Whence cometh this sort of question? Would our government deceive the American people? Has it ever deceived the American people? If this government has deceived the American people in the past, how can we know it is not deceiving us here in the present, when the damned government claims some presumed right to deny us access to hearings on the events surrounding an attack on a U.S. Ambassador in Benghazi? Have you read the Report from Iron Mountain lately? (2)
1) From here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warren_Commission
In November 1964, two months after the publication of its 888-page report, the Commission published twenty-six volumes of supporting documents, including the testimony or depositions of 552 witnesses and more than 3,100 exhibits. All of the commission’s records were then transferred on November 23 to the National Archives. The unpublished portion of those records was initially sealed for 75 years (to 2039) under a general National Archives policy that applied to all federal investigations by the executive branch of government, a period “intended to serve as protection for innocent persons who could otherwise be damaged because of their relationship with participants in the case.” The 75-year rule no longer exists, supplanted by the Freedom of Information Act of 1966 and the JFK Records Act of 1992. By 1992, 98 percent of the Warren Commission records had been released to the public. Six years later, at the conclusion of the Assassination Records Review Board’s work, all Warren Commission records, except those records that contained tax return information, were available to the public with redactions. The remaining Kennedy assassination related documents are scheduled to be released to the public by 2017, twenty-five years after the passage of the JFK Records Act.
