Oath Keepers to Place Billboard Outside Ft. Leavenworth to Protest Small Wars Journal Article Demonizing Tea Party as Future “Enemy” of U.S. Military
![]()
Oath Keepers is launching a national effort to place billboards outside of every major military base, urging the troops to honor their oaths by refusing to be used as tools of oppression against the American people. And we are starting this effort by putting up a billboard right outside the main gate of Ft. Leavenworth Kansas to respond directly to the Small Wars Journal article by Leavenworth instructor Colonel Kevin Benson which paints the Tea Party movement as a future military opponent during domestic CONUS operations by the U.S. military. You can read more on that article here and here. Here is the billboard we are putting up:

(if your donation is for the billboards, please include a note specifying that, so it is used only for that purpose).
Since Colonel Benson has chosen to demonize the Tea Party movement, by using the Tea Party as the “bad guys”- along with militias – in his hypothetical scenario of future domestic military operations, and since he is apparently using his position at Ft. Leavenworth to brainwash young officers into thinking that the Tea Party is a potential future enemy they will have to fire upon, we feel it is crucial to counter his propaganda in as direct a manner as possible, sending a clear message not just to him, but to his students there at Ft. Leavenworth and to all others stationed there, and to the broader Army. Those young officers need to understand that if they fire on fellow Americans, permitting themselves to be used as tools of oppression, and if they participate in martial law on U.S. soil, then they will become the new “red coats”and will be desecrating and destroying all that generations of American fighting men have bled and died to secure – our liberty.
We stand in defense of the rights of all Americans, but since Colonel Benson has chosen to name the Tea Party members in particular as possible future military enemies during domestic operations, we are coming to the defense of the Tea Party in this case.
This is the first of many billboards Oath Keepers will put up as part of our new national campaign. We were planning on next putting up billboards outside of Camp Lajeune, North Carolina or Ft. Stewart Georgia, and will still do so, but Colonel Benson’s outrageous and dangerous article in the Small Wars Journal compelled us to make Ft. Leavenworth the first base for our billboard campaign.
The Leavenworth billboard will cost an estimated $1,650.00 for the set-up and two months rent. Oath Keepers Lifetime Member Richard Allison was the first to step up by donating $500.00 for this billboard. He met Oath Keepers Founder Stewart Rhodes during his trip to Minnesota, and when Stewart showed Richard the mock up for the billboard, Richard pulled out his wallet and slapped down five one-hundred dollar bills to get this project rolling. Thanks Richard! You set an excellent example for others to follow. And indeed, he was followed by another generous individual who donated $1,650.00 (the full price of the Leavenworth billboard), which means that billboard is more than paid for! (with the remainder to be used on other billboards).
Oath Keepers of Kansas, lead by Richard Fry, who is also Patriot Coalition General counsel, helped us secure the Leavenworth billboard, which is 3/4 of a block outside the main gate at Ft. Leavenworth. We expect that billboard to be ready by September 17. We are now waiting on the billboard company to complete the printing and installation.
Oath Keepers of Kansas will also secure a billboard outside of Ft. Riley, Kansas, where the famous 1st Infantry Division (the “Big Red One”) is stationed, and we will place a more general “honor your oath” billboard there. That Ft. Riley billboard will cost an estimated $1,000.00 for two months. And thanks to other generous donors, we now have that money raised, and that billboard should be up within two weeks. We are now hunting down suitable billboards outside of other key bases, and are well on our way in this campaign. The more we raise, the faster we attain our goal of Oath Keepers billboards outside of EVERY major military base across the United States.
We have an initial goal of raising $20,000.00 and have so far raised approximately $14,500.00. Please help us, if you can, by making a donation to fund this effort. All donations for the billboards will be used exclusively for that purpose.

Below are mock-ups of billboards we will use outside of Marine Corps bases and Army bases. We will start with combat arms troops, such as to Camp Lajeune, Ft. Stewart, Ft. Bragg, Ft. Benning, Ft. Hood, Ft. Lewis, Camp Pendleton, etc., but will also do billboards outside of bases for all branches, including outside of Air Force bases where Predator Drone “pilots” work. This is just the beginning. The ultimate goal is billboards outside of every base in America. Help us get it done! And you are also welcome to go and secure a billboard in your area, if you like, and we will provide the artwork. Either way, we will strike a serious blow against any plans to use our own troops against us, by sparking the fire of liberty in their hearts and minds. – Stewart Rhodes, Founder of Oath Keepers

Speaking of demonizing patriots, please keep an eye on the developing story of former Marine Brandon Raub, apparently taken away and possibly arrested for his patriotic facebook posts. This is being reported on dprogram.net and activistpost. The entry on dprogram.net includes his facebook statement and a link to a youtube clip of a radio interview of Raub’s mother on the John Tolley Show. The facebook statement is simple, polite, and does contain any offensive or inflammatory language. It would appear that Raub is being used as an example to silence others.

The being sent to a physiotherapist is in my opinion going to be a increasing tactic by government agencies, trumpet charges questioning mental health and weather or not he’d attack the public as a excuse is a great way to disarm dissadents. winning By Proxy.

This “colonel” is retired, not active duty, and he is entitled to free speech under the Constitution, no matter how offensive or stupid his opinion may be. However, he should be punished in the most severe manner possible for teaching his personal opinion as Army doctrine to the future leaders of the US Army. He is a traitor, and should be held accountable for breaking his Oath and encouraging other Army staff to violate their Oaths.

I got here after donating because I saw this story on Infowars. please keep us posted with your work. If you continue to put up billboards, ill be glad to support as much as I can. We have to do whatever we can. Before things get worse.

The Outhouse Report is also an internet talk radio show by the same name. I have nothing to contribute at this time, but will do so on my next payday. “When I took my oath, my word was given. My word shall stand upon God’s Word as my foundation. Let it be so.” L. M. O’Neal

Great Idea !!!!! Now how about a smaller printable version with the same art work and the
” ORDERS WE WILL NOT OBEY ”
on it as well that can be down loaded from the website. I personally would print hundreds of them and send them to every police department within 50 miles and hand them out to every
officer I see. That way we could all help flood the public as well as the police with the
message with very little cost to any of us and no extra cost or burden to Oath Keepers.

The full fury of The American citizenry is slowly rising.
Its spirit will undertake the necessary campaign to restore
The U.S. Constitution to its historic and honorable positiion.
Americans must start educating their children in a manner they
will understand. They are the future trees and must be raised
to knowing the ideals which cannot be taken for granted if we
are to remain unoppressed.

As a prior service (US Army, 1960s), I stand by you. I also have a son currently in the US Army. My family has MASSIVE military background. (Uncle George was Mess Sgt who personally served Gen. MacArthur during WW I.) Between military and police departments, my family were virtually all “service-related.” Keep up the good work!!

Why have the donations slowed? Is it because it appears the goal has been met? We need to clarify…the Ft. Leavanworth is only one of several around the country. Read this posting carefully. Maybe at the top of this we need a clearly defined financial goal. Heck the billboards in California cost $5,000 or more…..we need more donations. Do not stop now people. We are on a roll.

As you may be aware, the RNC and the Romney campaign are pushing a massive change to Republican Party rules which will, in part, allow the Presidential nominee to choose delegates and allow the RNC to change rules relating to the party platform and delegate selection whenever they like.

Two Texas Highway Patrol Officers were conducting speeding enforcement on Hwy 77, just south of Kingsville, Tx.
One of the officers was using a hand held radar device to check speeding vehicles approaching the town of Kingsville .. The officers were suddenly surprised when the radar gun began reading 300 miles per hour and climbing.
The officer attempted to reset the radar gun, but it would not reset and then it suddenly turned off.
Just then a deafening roar over the Mesquite treetops on Hwy 77 revealed that the radar had in fact locked on to a USMC F/A-18 Hornet which was engaged in a low flying exercise near this, it’s Naval Air home base location in Kingsville Tx.
Back at the Texas Highway Patrol Headquarters in Corpus Christi the Patrol Captain fired off a complaint to the US Naval Base Commander in Kingsville for shutting down his equipment.
The reply came back in true USMC style:
‘Thank you for your letter….
You may be interested to know that the tactical computer in the Hornet had detected the presence of, and subsequently locked on to, your hostile radar equipment and automatically sent a jamming signal back to it, which is why it shut down.
Furthermore, an Air-to-Ground missile aboard the fully armed aircraft had also automatically locked on to your equipment’s location.
Fortunately, the Marine Pilot flying the Hornet recognized the situation for what it was, quickly responded to the missile system alert status, and was able to override the automated defense system, before the missile was launched to destroy the hostile radar position, on the side of Hwy 77 So. Of Kingsville …
The pilot suggests you cover your mouths when cussing at them, since the video systems on these jets are very high tech.
Sergeant Johnson, the officer holding the radar gun, should get his dentist to check his left rear molar. It appears the filling is loose.. Also, the snap is broken on his holster.’

What’s the matter with this Col. Benson?
Is he not from the old New Amsterdam
family, steeped in Americanism ?
Maybe he caught a touch of Alz Hymers.

I am a former marine and a proud son of a WWII marine corp pilot. Your sign does need to include a very disturbing subject that is close to my heart. That is the story of Army Ranger Lt. Michael Behenna at defendmichael.com. I told his mother and father that I would never give upon “OUR” son Thank you. Stand by, a revolt is coming, won’t say in what country, only I don’t need to visit a mental facility as some of my brothers in arms have done

I can’t strongly enough recommend that you quickly set up KickStarter and IndieGoGo campaigns to raise funds for putting up these billboards — if you have a good pitch video, it could go viral and pull in enough money to get them all up fast!

This is one of the best campaigns Oathkeepers has done. This will smack in the face of every military member in the U.S., what a wake up call this is. I would like to ask every individual that cherishes our Liberty and the Constitution to donate to this worthy cause. $5, 10, 15, 20, what ever you can afford will help. Small donations by many makes a big difference. I’ll be sending in a donation twice a month.
All my TEA party friends please help us to preserve our Freedoms.
Thank you Stewart Rhodes, Fellow Oath Keepers, TEA Party and the many other fine Patriot orginizations for your steadfast work and efforts to keep us free from tyranny. God bless you all.

I’d like to see them outside McClellan and Mather in California – for shut down bases they sure have lot of live fire, planes, etc going on.
Has anyone seen this, and if so, do you feel that the conclusions are correct concerning what is happening here? Is this why so much election fraud went on (2012) and “puppets” are put there that ignore our legitimate government?

Hitler had to get his start somewhere. So the Colonel is an enemy of the Constitution. Not fit for duty, Egos and tyrants I deal with them all the time. Are posts here moderated – as a Christian, socialist, British Law Enforcement Officer I posted some points re the rather strange use of Red Coat as an insult (which means that Col Benson is a British soldier? and is also quite insulting to our armed forces – if you want to use the period insult it should be ‘bloody backs’ surely – the Boston Massacre in any event was grossly overblown and resulted from extreme provocation directed at initially one poor sentry – as the acquittal of most of the provoked troops showed) in this context and the post seems to have vanished. If its vanished into the void fair enough, as I’d hope that a board about free speech etc wouldn’t be censoring opinions that it doesn’t like.
Btw ref the Texas story re speeding jets – I have heard the self same story almost word for word except in this case it was North Wales Police and an RAF Tornado (whether there is a subtext to both of stupid cops I don’t know)
October 21st, 2012 at 8:28 am
Moderated? – obviously not since this one is here so thats good (my post must be somewhere in an internet blackhole). I’m all in favour btw of the police and military acting within the law and respecting peoples human rights (wherever they are – not just citizens of a particular country). I appreciate btw that given the close linkage between this organisation and the Tea Party that AWI references are thought appropriate, even if the soldiers in the case of Boston in truth had very little if anything in common with the protestors other than all being nominal subjects of HM King George III – personally your own more recent history such as Kent State would surely give an example of the use of lethal firearms by the American military against Americans. Issues like warrantless searches of homes (not at random) are of course one way in which our countries are very different since Writs of Assistance were used by HM Customs & Excise (now HM Revenue & Customs) until relatively recently and the police have powers under S.18 and S.32 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act to search the homes of arrested persons without needing a warrant. Of course the UK has actually done items 1, 2, 4, 7 and 10 on your list (and we are not living in a police state). Item 5 btw surely means that the Union side in the ACW is viewed as having acted wrongly and presumably all those who led and served in the Union armies were enemies of the people?

Dear Mr. Rhodes,
I have sent in my donation, It is now Jan.14th I hope you are putting up these bill boards right now. We do not have any time left to fool around. Please let me and your readers know that you are doing so . If our troops are not awakened who will stand with us. THIS IS URGENT!!!
With respect, Mike

I think you should scrap the billboard that calls Benson a “Redcoat”. It might make us feel great to call him names, but an impartial outsider is going to see it as juvenile and it will turn away people who ride the fence on the issue. I think it’s much more effective to respectfully disagree with him.
I would donate for the other billboards but I can’t donate to a billboard that may harm our cause more than it helps it.
