Marine Corps Creates Law Enforcement Battalions

Yet another piece of evidence that our military is being pushed to shift its role into a dedicated domestic law enforcement mechanism. Along with Armored Personnel Carriers roaming the streets of St. Louis carrying active duty army, combat training in cities like Chicago, joint military/police checkpoints in Santa Monica, etc. And, what about the recently held war games held by the Pentagon called “Unified Quest 2011″, which specifically outlined training the military for “economic collapse” and “containing civil unrest”? Short of outright admission, one might think that the Department of Defense is planning for some kind of event that the public has not been made privy to…

The Marine Corps has created its first law enforcement battalions – a lean, specialized force of military police officers that it hopes can quickly deploy worldwide to help investigate crimes from terrorism to drug trafficking and train fledgling security forces in allied nations.
The Corps activated three such battalions last month. Each is made up of roughly 500 military police officers and dozens of dogs. The Marine Corps has had police battalions off and on since World War II but they were primarily focused on providing security, such as accompanying fuel convoys or guarding generals on visits to dangerous areas, said Maj. Jan Durham, commander of the 1st Law Enforcement Battalion at Camp Pendleton.
The idea behind the law enforcement battalions is to consolidate the military police and capitalize on their investigative skills and police training, he said. The new additions come as every branch in the military is trying to show its flexibility and resourcefulness amid defense cuts.
Marines have been increasingly taking on the role of a street cop along with their combat duties over the past decade in Iraq and Afghanistan, where they have been in charge of training both countries’ security forces. Those skills now can be used as a permanent part of the Marine Corps, Durham said.
The war on terror has also taught troops the importance of learning how to gather intelligence, secure evidence and assist local authorities in building cases to take down criminal networks. Troops have gotten better at combing raid sites for clues to help them track insurgents.
They also have changed their approach, realizing that marching into towns to show force alienates communities. Instead, they are being taught to fan out with interpreters to strike up conversations with truck drivers, money exchangers, cellphone sellers and others. The rapport building can net valuable information that could even alert troops about potential attacks.
But no group of Marines is better at that kind of work than the Corps’ military police, who graduate from academies just like civilian cops, Durham said. He said the image of military police patrolling base to ticket Marines for speeding or drinking has limited their use in the Corps. He hopes the creation of the battalions will change that, although analysts say only the future will tell whether the move is more than just a rebranding of what already existed within the Corps.
The battalions will be capable of helping control civil disturbances, handling detainees, carrying out forensic work, and using biometrics to identify suspects. Durham said they could assist local authorities in allied countries in securing crime scenes and building cases so criminals end up behind bars and not back out on the streets because of mistakes.

They need to focus on arresting corrupt officials instead of terrorists. The people will handle the terrorists. We can’t remove corruption.

Upholding your oath means arresting the traitors. Saying you’re an oathkeeper without action doesn’t cut it with me. Sorry.

I read that Barack Obama has already signed an Executive order so he can declare martial law sometime around September or October so he can postpone the election indefinatly and then he can remain our dictator and chief forever at least that is what he thinks. This is he plan. He talked about having a civilian police force that was trained like the military when he campaigned back in 2008. That did not sound good to me when he said it back then. Now it really scares me because he is up to no good now. I don’t trust this man at all.

Bro, you’ve missed the whole point of our organization. But do keep observing and thinking. You’re at least looking in the right direction. Just remember always this one fact of life:
Nothing happens in the consensus reality without first having happened in the mind. We’re where the ideas of liberty, freedom, love, dignity, fidelity, character, sensitivity, duty, and honor come from. We are not here to arrest anyone. We’re here to offer every soldier, policeman, firefighter, and every veteran past present and future, the knowledge about their Oath which will serve their souls well at some moment of truth. You want to arrest somebody in this crazy world? Fine. Go do that and let us know how it works out for you. Meanwhile, we’re educating a lot of people about the Constitution and the Oath that document requires.
Salute!

i have followed these events over the last few years. i find it disturbing that our elected officials think they can use our military troops against its citizens, signing laws in secret without the consent of “we the people”declaring martial law,NDAA,NDRP,bill 341 and others in an effort to strip away or ignore our constitution, which is supposed to be supreme law of the land. and if i understand correctly, states that any law that does not coincides with the constitution is in fact, an unjust law and should be disobeyed by those citizens. these actions i believe are in violation of our constitution and our founding forefathers gave us the abilities to set right a government that no longer serves its people. if we believe in our constitution and what it means, then we must adhere to the oath to protect it against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.. anyone seeking to strip me of my said rights is therefore my enemy. i took this oath as a child and was raised up taking it again and again. we do not take an oath to a man, but rather to the ideas and principles of that document. i have served my country in many ways, but by keeping this oath is by far, the most important and cherished.

That is definitely cause for concern. However,I don’t believe (most) U.S. troops will be so eager to play Barry’s game. Watch for the “blue helmets” to show up on scene..then they will find out exactly how easy it is to “contain” 300 plus million armed and enraged Americans. They would simply be picking a fight they cannot win. Truth

300 plus million armed and enraged Americans, Deo? Slight exaggeration there, since of the 311 million population, only about 70% are adults and only about 40-50% of them own guns. Then you have to question how many of those actually own an effective firearm, know how to use it, are actually “enraged”, etc. I think by the time all the variables are factored in, your neighborhood might just have you and a couple of bar stool commandos. Not that I want to see any “blue helmets” surrounding my local WalMart, but let’s try to keep things real.

What a lot of Americans don’t understand is this is a slow degrade of our freedoms. It’s not something that happens all at once so that we would stand against it. It’s the slow and steady disintegration of our constitution. How do you corral livestock for slaughter? That is what is happening right now. I am not a conspiracy theorist, but I wouldn’t put recent tragic events past the government to get their agenda passed. What better way to scare (coral) Americans into backing this agenda. The CIA has done it in other countries. Are we so naive into thinking they wouldn’t do it here? If they do succeed in banning assault rifles and then pass the UN small arms agreement, we will be left with the choice of complying or being arrested. The ones that resist this will be criminalized and every aspect of their former lives destroyed. It is easy to talk the talk, the walk is going to be much more difficult. I am praying for us.

Texx; you are wrong in saying only 40-50% of Americans own guns. Most do own guns and more than 1 gun. Especially lately, gun sales are soaring. Rugars are so far behind in their orders they have a huge backlog they can’t fill for quite awhile. Thats keeping things real, without “barstool commandos”.

Very dangerous times are approaching our Country. For the first time in our history as a Nation, we will see things happen the likes of which we have never seen before. Our Country is deliberately being destroyed by our own government and the Banking Cartel; wars being pursued on all fronts; businesses, jobs, the middleclass, the family unit. Our own Military training and preparing for civil unrest and Martial Law, and internment camps built across the Country by FEMA and DHS. We are clearly heading for a Socialist and Totalitarian regime. As a people, we are doing nothing to stop it. I find that extremely disturbing.
During the Cold War years when I was in Military service, I’ve seen a Socialist and Totalitarian regime up close and personal on the East German border from 1971 to 1973. I’ve seen whole families machine gunned down trying to cross the East German frontier to escape to freedom in the West. It was a very sad sight to see. As American soldiers, we wanted badly to return fire against the East German border guards shooting at the poor defenseless souls trying to flee to freedom. We were ordered not to fire, but at times we did disregard the order to return fire. Those were the very best moments in my entire life, returning fire to help protect people fleeing to freedom. We all knew there would be hell to pay the next day because an Army CID unit would pull us off the borderline for an investigation that lasted for days without much time to sleep and barely enough time to eat a meal. Then the CID unit would drill us again with Q&A’s. As a People, we need to have the character and the courage to stand against tyranny as we did when we were young guns in the American Army.
