Quartzsite: AZ AG PR As Two Cops Fired | July 30th, 2011

“…there is reasonable cause to believe that there has been a violation of the Open Meeting Law, inasmuch as the public was excluded. The meeting was held under the misconception that an emergency meeting can be conducted without the public present. Independently of the question of whether the Town Council had a legitimate reason to hold an emergency meeting, even proper emergency meetings must allow the public to be present.” – Arizona Attorney General Press Release

Quartzsite | July 28th, 2011

Taken aback, I brought this up to several Oath Keepers friends, officers and Board members in following days – what should we think of approximately eighty percent of a small city’s police force standing up and signing allegations against the Chief of Police and the City Council? It struck us as darn good Oath Keeping. Had we stumbled across ten peace officer Oath Keepers in one small town in the desert? While the Quartzsite Ten are not dues-paying members in Oath Keepers, we are proud that these peace officers have become willing to risk their careers by making a stand against corruption and injustice. I salute them for being true Americans and following their consciences.

But what should we make of the Police Chief arresting the Mayor? What was going on in that town?

Rob Natelson: The Unintended Constitutional Mistakes of “Cut, Cap, and Balance” | July 28th, 2011

“True, the courts generally uphold those programs now, due to a misunderstanding of the meaning of the Constitution’s General Welfare Clause. But over the last few years originalist legal scholars have labored to correct that problem—to explain to judges and other citizens that the General Welfare Clause is a limit on taxes rather than an authorization on spending.” – Rob Natelson

Financial Suicide | July 27th, 2011

There is little desire or regard for the middle class from the people at the top of the human heap because a big portion of their wealth is derived from robbing the lower classes. The Federal Reserve acts at the top of the line as the greatest robber of them all, raping the entire system to serve the people at the top.

“The first top-to-bottom audit of the Federal Reserve uncovered eye-popping new details about how the U.S. provided a whopping $16 trillion in secret loans to bail out American and foreign banks and businesses during the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.

Is Your IRA Going To Be Raided? | July 27th, 2011

Most politicians in the US believe (or behave as if they believe) they can continue to kick the spending can further down the road. Apparently many believe the spending/debt problem will somehow magically go away or at least metastasize after they have left government. Unfortunately, the problem is not going away and will get much worse unless political courage and will is found to enact substantial spending cuts. These cuts must be larger than numbers discussed in current political discussions.

Edwin Vieira Visits With Anthony Wile of The Daily Bell | July 24th, 2011

“Russia is a semi-Western country; but its leadership class harbors significant resentments and jealousies against the Anglo-American Establishment. So I think it’s being “on board” [with elite globalism] is problematical. As for the Chinese, they are an entirely different culture. They may lead the Anglo-Americans into believing that they are “on board”; but why they should actually be “on board” mystifies me, particularly in that they must recognize that the Western funny-money Ponzi banks and financial centers are in the final throes of self-destruction. If you knew the iceberg was waiting for you, would you sail on the Titanic?” – Dr. Edwin Vieira, Jr.

Stewart Rhodes Speech Lexington Green April 19 2009 | July 22nd, 2011

And that’s one thing that I always make very very clear, is that Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of current serving military, current serving police officers, veterans, and firefighters and other emergency personnel.

And when we say non-partisan, we mean it.

I don’t care whether they are democrat or republican. If they violate their oath, which they all took to support and defend the constitution, I will call them on it and you should too. ~ Stewart Rhodes; Founder, Oath Keepers

Sons of Liberty Riders Honor Marine Vet Killed by SWAT | July 17th, 2011

The CBS Nightly News recently reported the prison population across the U.S. has increased 1400% in the last 20 years as a result of the “war on drugs.” But what national main stream media often fails to report is the devastation left behind when our Constitution is violated and innocent people are attacked by local police forces that use overwhelming military-style tactics to further the war on drugs

Oregon Sheriff Stands Up To USFS With Class | July 13th, 2011

Sheriffs Gilbertson and Palmer have crossed personal Rubicons to join a growing cadre of sheriffs in western states who are drawing the line against federal agencies like the Forest Service… “The Supreme Court ruled that the federal government cannot force us [local law enforcement] to enforce federal regs, rules or laws,” he said. “They can’t force sheriffs to do that. The sheriff is the highest law enforcement official for that county. My understanding is that there is no other authority that supersedes the sheriff’s office for that county.” – Sheriff Gil Gilbertson

Over the last two years the problems have continually got worse. Chief Jeff Gilbert is fixated on the politics in this town. He Is personally involved In them and all his time and attention is directed towards political gain to benefit of himself. He is obviously biases towards certain council members and is against and outspoken to other candidate and council members. He runs license plates just to find out names of people whose vehicles are parked at businesses/residences of people he don’t like. A Positive Example of Police Who Respect the Right to Bear Arms | July 11th, 2011

I am writing about a recent experience that I had with the local Sheriff’s Department here in Clark County. I am a former LAPD officer and Veteran of two branches of military service. I am also a proud member of Oath Keepers. It was approximately 1000 hours when someone knocked at the front door I am usually armed or at least have a pistol or shotgun near by. I could see the figure of a man standing on the porch. I have spent many years arresting and investigating very bad people, so if I do not expect someone I am always on guard. As I approached the door I had my pistol in my hand positioned behind my gun leg aka strong side leg. I cracked the door and the burly man wearing regular clothes identified himself with his badge and said he was with the Sheriff’s office.

Support Pledge Drive For Oath Keeper Brian Miller | July 11th, 2011

On May 30, in the wake of the violent SWAT raid which claimed the young life of Jose Guerena in front of his family, our Pima County GOP Chairman, Brian Miller, publically asked for renewed discussions of both SWAT policy and the civil liberties codified in our Bill of Rights.

In an effort to placate the local police unions, the local big government Republican power structure has launched an aggressive smear campaign to muzzle Brian Miller.

In the month after Chairman Miller had the audacity to advocate the very conservative principle of citizen oversight of government, the Pima County Republican Party Executive Committee has devolved into a mob mentality. They’ve now taken his keys to the building, actually changed the locks on the doors and have set a special meeting to fabricate new rules to kick him out of office!

Issa and Grassley wrote that Melson’s interview “was extremely helpful to our investigation.” They said Melson told them he did not review the “hundreds of documents” the DOJ is withholding until after the public controversy about the operation. Issa and Grassley said Melson claims he was “sick to his stomach” when he obtained the documents and learned the full story.
