Note to Viewer: Be advised that this is a very emotionally difficult video to watch as it is a memorial service for a fallen Marine with his widow and other family and to remember our war dead. This should not be viewed lightly, but it goes to the heart of what it means to be an American and how high the stakes are for all of us in the struggle for our liberty.
The pace of the march, the length of the flag-carrying procession, the somberness in the rhythm of the march, the dignity of singular-minded people coming together in purpose and walking upon the earth in procession, is as primordial and potent as it gets. The moment of the march shall live forever.
Here it is. It is powerful, and it will pull at your heart. It combines beauty, tenderness, mourning, brotherhood, and the sure promise that Jose Guerena’s death is in itself a birth which shall mark forever the pivot point at which the American people began to turn this nation around and march away from tyranny and back into the promise of Freedom. The genius in this moment, now preserved on film, reaches to the depths of human despair and elevates us one and all to the heights of mankind’s renewed hope. Moist eyes and even tears are alright.

The sleeper in the pile of links I left at the bottom of this article is the Sheriff Mack video.
After Oath Keepers departed the Guerena home they attended another ceremony at Purple Heart Park, guests of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Arizona chapter, and then moved on to The Hotel Arizona in Tucson. It was there that Sheriff Mack delivered a powerful presentation. Please know that when you view the above video and then follow it with this video of Sheriff Mack’s presentation, you’ll have a feel for what Oath Keepers is all about – individual freedom to own one’s life under the umbrella of a self-representative government, a government which does not assume ownership over the citizen. Our Elders referred to it as “Freedom”.

Thank you for posting the video. Would definitely have been there if I could, but I was 1000 miles a way. We must be vigilant – comfortable or not.

I hope everyone connected to ” OATH KEEPERS ” knows they are on homeland securities domestic terrorists list !
June 3rd, 2011 at 5:09 pm
From what I hear, homeland security needs to be thinking about the fact that a lot of people on the “domestic terrorist list” have “lists” of their own! I’m just sayin…

Thanks you all Oath Keepers who attended the event and help commemorate the passing of this fine Marine and to stand up and defend the Bill of Rights for which he served. I love my country. I hate my government as it has been manipulated to destroy everything that is good in our souls. We must find a better way to be.

To all who end up here, for whatever reason, OathKeeper or not:
Being a reporter and editor of an online news portal was only one of the reasons my family did not enjoy my company this past Memorial Day. I was unable to take my grandson to watch a Veteran’s Day Parade such as the ones I marched in my four years of High School with the Third Battalion JROTC unit of West Phoenix High (I grew up in Arizona). I was absent from my home, my friends, and my community on a day that is ment to honor men and women such as my beloved father, Sgt. Feliciano John Vallejo, Jr. – a decorated Korean War Veteran, now interred at the National Cemetary in Riverside, California.
I HAD to go to Tucson.
I had to go pay my most sincere respects to the widow and two sons of a ‘Fellow American Armed Forces Honorably Discharged Veteran’. You see, it doesn’t matter which branch you served in. It doesn’t matter how much Army hates Navy and Navy hates Army. It doesn’t matter that everyone calls Marines ‘Jarheads’, and there’s bloody fights over it.
There’s a Brotherhood that isn’t spoken about. It’s one that can be verbally denied, but don’t believe it. It’s one that’s felt in the heart of those who, at some time in their life, served their Country, honorably. It only has one request, and it’s a given – peacetime or war.
“No matter what happens, no matter what I may or may not do in the future, no matter what anyone ever says; if anything ever happens to me – TAKE CARE OF MY KIDS!!!”
_______________________________________________________________________
I rode two hours South of my hometown of Phoenix with the Pinal County Organizer and Arizona State Vice-Chairman of OathKeepers Gerald Rhoades, pouring over and reviewing every iota of information available via my laptop, and what I researched stored on my hard drive. It was so intense discussing and sharing that I am still astounded at how short the drive felt.
I also was there in the capacity of a Libertarian that has represented the Libertarians of Arizona at the last two National Conventions; I mention this because of our ‘non-initiation of force’ stance. In an interview on camera before marching to the Guerena home, I asked Arizona Libertarian Party Chairman Warren Severin (whom I marched beside) why he was there – he stated “Because this whole thing STINKS!” I agreed.
I also had to agree with his exasperation level, mainly because I still felt burned about this happening so close to me, and I didn’t hear about it for three weeks. That was probably my first impression that something just wasn’t right about the situation as it was being reported. Still, I maintained my objectivity then, as I have throughout the entire event. Those who read my page trust me to bring them everything I am presented with in every detail, in as many different mediums as possible, as honestly as possible. I took a LOT of video.
It was heartwrenching. In a way I’m glad the Guerena sons weren’t there, but I paid my respect to Vanessa. It was a somber day to say the least. Then all of a sudden, four fighter jets thundered directly overhead – and they were in the ‘missing man’ formation. Chilling just doesn’t describe it – especially while standing in the bullet-riddled doorway.
CONCLUSION: I could see that mistakes were made by almost all parties concerned, but nothing on Earth can justify the ending of one life by another. Life is precious, and EVERY PRECAUTION MUST BUT TAKEN TO PRESERVE IT.
I did not know that a plaque was to be presented to Vanessa, but I felt it quite comforting that I was not the only one there for which its sentiment was self-evident.
If there is anything positive to be gained from Jose’s death, it would be if this never happened to anyone ever again.
Sincerely,
Ed Vallejo

If, there is one thing worse than this event (the shooting of our brother), THEN THAT THING —WOULD BE—THAT NO MAJOR NEWS SOURCE BROUGHT THIS TO MY ATTENTION—sadly, not even Fox News, whom I trust! BUT FOR MR RHODES AND OATHKEEPERS…..I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN OF THIS TRAGIC INCIDENT!!!
I WOULD LIKE HERE, AND, NOW TO EXCLAIM MY SORROW FOR THE FAMILY! This should have never been so….

The tragedy of what occurred in Tucson AZ on 5 May 2011 points out just how far we have fallen as a nation. We can and should point fingers as we sit in judgment of the officers who were willing participants in the wholsale slaughter of Jose Guerena, but you and I know it goes much further up the ladder, the leadership of the Sheriffs Department comes into question, but it does not stop there, it goes to the United States Justice Department and all of its agencies and lands squarely on the desk of the President of the United States.
This government and proceeding governments of the United States with the willing help of the citizens of the United States have allowed for all intents and purposes the un-lawful dismantling of our rule of law, The Constitution Of The United States Of America.
The citizens of the United States have the blood of Jose Guerena on their hands, but its much more than that, the blood of every citizen who fell in battle since the Korean War,is on their hands as well. Why do I write this, its because the citizens are responsible for the actions of the President, his cabinet, the members of the Legislative branch and the Judicial branch of government. We The People, have allowed this. There is no ducking this question, we are a Democratic Republic, we the people are the ones in control, its not whom we elect. We have failed in our mission to protect and defend our Constitution and its only we citizens who can correct what we have done provided we take action now before its to late and our Republic is destroyed and replaced with a Communist Marxist State in which we as citizens have ABSOLUTELY NO STANDING, we have traded our freedom for slavery. Under stand this, the end is very near.
