Oath Keepers sincerely thanks all who are making the trip for this muster, march, memorial service, and rally. God bless the Guerena family and God bless America.

Please note this bank account which has been provided to Oath Keepers by the Guerena family — donations to her family can be wired to this number: Bank of America: 457022390833 That account is an assistance account for Vanessa Guerena and her children. Thank you for being generous.

DIRECTIONS TO MUSTER: Take I-19 South off of I-10; Exit W. Valencia Road. Stay on W. Valencia – it’s a fairly long drive, but keep going west. You will pass the Del Sol Casino, keep going West about two miles past the Del Sol Casino to Wade Road. Upon arrival at the intersection of West Valencia Road and South Wade Road, please park on the South side of Valencia (Your left-hand side). We would like to ask all drivers to park by backing in, instead of parallel parking, so as to reduce the length of parked cars. Thank you for remembering to do that. Note: Oath Keepers has no idea how many or how few people will be driving in for this muster, so arriving early is not a bad idea. Arriving late is a very poor idea.

Directions from Muster area at W. Valencia and Wade Road, to Purple Heart Park.

Take W. Valencia eastbound back to I-19. Cross under I-19, stay on Valencia. Nexus only T’s into Valencia from the Right.) Take a right turn on Nexus, then quickly take a left turn on E. Rita. The park will be on your right just a few blocks from Nexus. So, briefly:

On W. Valencia Rd. at our Muster point, Go east bound on Valencia under I-19, and under I-10.

Continue east bound on Valencia to Nexus;

Turn Right on Nexus, then quick Left (just a few short blocks) onto E. Rita.

Press contact – Arizona Oath Keepers state chapter President Ray Epps: 480-586-5145. Backup Press contact – Elias Alias – 406-285-6597 * eliasalias@gmail.com

The public is cordially invited to march and stand with Oath Keepers for this ceremony. All who cannot attend are encouraged to do what you can on Memorial Day in your own communities. A great example of local activity is given us by the Pahrump, Nevada Oath Keepers chapter. Enjoy reading their Proclamation here:

http://oathkeepers.org/oath/2011/05/25/pahrump-oath-keepers-issue-proclamation/?cp=1#comment-29725

What you can do – Work with veterans and neighbors and community groups in your respective areas to ensure such Proclamations are brought before your local government officials and State officials. (You can do this anytime, it is not limited to only Memorial Day.)

*Work to establish oversight by your State government, your Attorney General, and your County Sheriffs’ offices to protect Fourth Amendment rights at the local level to provide accountability for intrusive police activities. Work to educate your neighbors and friends to the militarization of our local peace officers and help them see how such practices violate our Bill of Rights, including the Fourth Amendment. Recommend to your local government that police actions, especially S.W.A.T. activity, does not mimic the acts of criminals who execute home invasions. Remind everyone of the inherent dangers in accepting Federal funding and Federal training. Work to break the connection between Federal involvement and local control over our peace officer community. Educate everyone to the dangers in militarizing our local peace officers.

What we need from Tucson: Oath Keepers is seeking locally a volunteer drummer for this march, and a bugler for the ceremony. Oath Keepers would love to have a color guard from Tucson or Arizona, but we’ll take a color guard from wherever we can find one. If anyone wishes to volunteer to drum for this march, or to play taps on the bugle at the ceremony, please send us your message by going here – http://oathkeepers.org/oath/contact/ or call our Arizona Oath Keepers chapter President Ray Epps at 480-586-5145. Backup number 406-285-6597.

Oath Keepers will muster at 8:00 a.m. on the morning of Memorial Day, May 30, 2011, and will march at 8:30 a.m. to the home of Vanessa Guerena, the widow of Jose Guerena. Our procession will not permit late-comers to join after we begin the march, so make sure to be on time. Come early. Our march will begin at our rally point which is less than one mile from the Guerena home.

Our muster will be at the intersection of West Valencia Road and South Wade Road. Out of town marchers can find West Valencia Road by exiting Interstate  I-19 just south of Interstate I-10 at the exit for West Valencia Road.

Upon arrival at the intersection of West Valencia Road and South Wade Road, please park on the South side of Valencia. We would like to ask all drivers to park by backing in, instead of parallel parking, so as to reduce the length of parked cars. Thank you for remembering to do that.

Oath Keepers will not permit the carrying or displaying of signs during our march and memorial service.

Flags may be carried and displayed. Those who have Oath Keepers gear are invited to wear Oath Keeper shirts and hats, patches and pins. We are planning a somber and reverent march, respectful of the departed young former Marine and war veteran, with sincere sympathy for his wife and children. There shall be another time and place for political expression.

Oath Keepers will conduct a brief ceremony on the lawn outside Mrs. Guerena’s house to honor her husband’s military service and all military and police who have paid the ultimate price for this country’s continued freedom. We will extend our sympathies to Mrs. Guerena, and then march back to our muster area.

Other activities will be announced when we return to our muster area. There each marcher will be given hand-out fliers with our afternoon schedule, which Oath Keepers will distribute to all who march with us.

Note - It is important that all who wish to participate with Oath Keepers on Memorial Day be present at 8:00 a.m. sharp, for that is how everyone will receive our announcements regarding the afternoon’s activities.

There will be afternoon speakers, including Stewart Rhodes, founder and President of Oath Keepers, Major (ret.) Rex McTyeire, U.S. Special Forces veteran and President of Oath Keepers’ South Carolina chapter, and Sheriff Richard Mack, former Sheriff from Arizona, among others. A number of Oath Keepers officers will be arriving from out of State.

The afternoon events will carry a political nature as Oath Keepers officially denounces the practice of deploying militarized SWAT teams to serve warrants on military veterans and gun owners who, like Jose Guerena, have no prior criminal record. Oath Keepers will inspire Americans to uphold the Fourth Amendment. Oath Keepers salutes our finest, our peace officers and our soldiers, with sincere gratitude for their service, but Oath Keepers stands against the Policy of using militarized SWAT units for routine law enforcement procedures.

We must take a stand against the use of SWAT or other militarized units against gun owners and veterans who have no violent crime history, and that stand needs to be a firm one. Come make a stand with us. Veterans, here is a place to stand for a righteous cause – bring your veteran groups and friends.

Therefore, Oath Keepers is going to rally to honor this young Marine’s military service in war in the morning hours, using this occasion to also honor all of America’s fallen heroes, and then move into other locations to express our opposition to the destruction of our liberty, our support of the Fourth Amendment as written, and our opposition to this policy of using SWAT teams to serve mere search warrants on gun owners and veterans who have no violent criminal record.

Here is a closing word from Stewart Rhodes, founder of Oath Keepers  –

“What better way to honor our war dead and veterans this Memorial Day than to defend our Constitution and our God given rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, which is what they all fought, bled, and died for? This policy of using SWAT to serve search warrants on veterans and gun owners simply because they are armed, and where there is no long history of violent crime, has got to stop. I think taking a stand over the use of SWAT against this young Marine in Tucson is a good place to start.” – Stewart Rhodes

OATH  KEEPERS  MUSTER

Sheriff Mack and Stewart Rhodes To March In Tucson

Oath Keepers is calling for all veterans, National Guardsmen, active duty military, current-serving peace officers, firefighters, retired public servants, gun owners, veteran organizations, civic organizations, church groups, student groups, and other patriotic Americans to stand with Oath Keepers at a memorial service for Jose Guerena, a USMC war veteran who was killed by law-enforcement gunfire in his home on May 05, 2011. We wish to honor Jose Guerena’s service to this nation and ensure that his death lights the spark which shall lawfully undo present-day policies which militarize our local peace officers and violate our veterans’ and gun owners’ Fourth Amendment rights.

Oath Keepers will march to the Guerena home (at Tucson) in Pima County, Arizona and conduct a memorial service. The public is invited. Oath Keepers will afterward move into the city of Tucson for speeches by Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes, Oath Keepers Board of Directors member Sheriff Richard Mack, other Oath Keepers officers, and members of law enforcement and the military.

Statement by Stewart Rhodes –  “What better way to honor our war dead and veterans this Memorial Day than to defend our Constitution and our God given rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, which is what they all fought, bled, and died for? This policy of using SWAT to serve search warrants on veterans and gun owners simply because they are armed, and where there is no long history of violent crime, has got to stop. I think taking a stand over the use of the Pima County Regional SWAT against this young Marine in Tucson is a good place to start.” – Stewart Rhodes

    Steve Doss Says:

I hope all ative duty Brothers and Sisters take note at what is being done to us all.its time to stop and think about what and for who they have been fighting and dying for.The answer should make them very angry for starters. The list is a long one and heads should roll.We already know what Henry Kissinger thinks of us.(nothing more than useful idiots. That should sum it all up right there. Its not about us(the people), its about them.

    John Says:

X-A 1-6, I’m just an interested citizen. As for my sources they’re all of the public source info from the Daily Star and local news channels. I’m not a cop, if that’s what you’re implying. Wish I was seeing as how they get paid better than I do for doing fieldwork but I digress.

As for my claims being unsubstantiated, I’m just pulling from the same public sources that you all are. That and a sudden interest in search warrants researched on google. My claims are the same as everyone else here just with a different slant or viewpoint.

I will say once again, and from the viewpoint of someone who once swore an oath to protect and defend at MEPS oh so long ago, why will no one acknowledge that on the surface there doesn’t appear to be a constitutional issue? Is that not the driving force behind O.K.?? Fine, SWAT teams shouldn’t be serving search warrants. So the cops send detectives in suits and ties to a house where they suspect an armed and violent guy to be? I’m clearly confused.

  3. 33
    Wayne Watts Says:

What if the President is the domestic enemy with his policy’s of violating the constitution? Which do you follow? defend the constitution or follow the President, one or the other but not both….

  4. 34
    joma Says:

So, you’re a Marine. A group of terrorists just murdered one of your guys. What you gonna do?

  5. 35
    dusty Says:

Never fight a man on his own turf by his rules you will lose every time. If the leaders of this protest want you to go to there protest unarmed to defend your self dont go.Remember its your right to defend your self.

  6. 36
    X-A 1-6 Says:

WAYNE WATTS: If you have ever served in the millitary, you will have been through classroom trainning relitive to the RULES OF ARMED CONFLICT. And therefore, you’ll know not to honor an illeagal order and you’ll know exactly, what constitutes an illeagal order.

JOMA: Your answer is, you close with and destroy the eneamy through supporior fire power, lightning speed, and shook effect. Questions?

DUSTY: YOUR ANSWER IS, if you go to this memorial tribute, and you plan to go armed, you better damm well be knowledgible about the Arazona laws relitive to concealed carry for non residents. And you better not act the fool if you do go packing cause you’ll end up bringing heat down upon other’s. It’ll be ok, nobody will hurt you. You’ll be fine.

AND NOW FOR YOU JOHN: Thank you for your prompt response. Now, preveiously, you alledged there is a possibillity that Jose may have been involved in a home invasion crime. Im not going to dismiss you as being wrong. It’s still open as to what is contained on that S/W affidavit. You seemed pretty sure of youself and like everybody else, i am awaiting the Pima County Sheriffs dept to release additional information. Understand, to date, there has been inconsistancy after inconsistancy in their disclosure of what occured inside that house. Since the defendent is expired, there will be no criminal felony case take place where the defendent can excercise his discovery rights and get a copy of that S/W affidavit. So the question now is, will that S/W affidavit ever be made public. Thats the key to the states whole case right there. I think only intense public preasure will ever force the States Atty of Pime county to ever release this affidavit. You would think that if there is any legal justification to the issueiance of that particular SW, then it would be in the best interrest to all government agencies involved. to release the information to the local public. If they never do release any information, then it is reasonable to assume that something corrupt has occured. And again, only the residents of Pima County can force their hand.

But John, im still interrested in what you have preveiously alledged. You are the first to arrive here with anything of relivance countering what others have stated.

    So again, thank you.
    Please continue and elaborate further.

  7. 37
    dusty Says:

Why dont you tell the Marine that. One day you will understand the diffrence between a law and a Right.

  8. 38
    X-A 1-6 Says:

Look Dusty, go ahead, go to tuscon tomorrow, pack all the heat you want to , and act the fool.
But in all fairness, please advise any ok’er marching beside you that your packing, so they can give you some operating room being your such a big operator. Have fun,,,,nice knowing you.

  9. 39
    Elias Alias Says:

    Dusty,
It would take quite a stoic individual to tote a gun to a memorial ceremony at Vanessa’s home. That is about the height of tastelessness, imo. The guns have already been to Vanessa’s home.

As to whatever prompts you to fear the unknown, please be advised that Oath Keepers is packed with cops and soldiers, firefighters and patriotic Americans. This march and ceremony will be quite secure.

That aside, Dusty, do you really think you need to come in here and educate Oath Keepers about “rights”? I’m sure we are all spell-bound by your exclusive insights into the 2nd Amendment, but really, good fellow, have you no respect for the dead, no respect for the widow, no respect for the fatherless children, no sensitivity to the somberness of this occasion?

I, personally, would appreciate a bit of sensitivity to the nature of this ceremony. Thanks.

    Salute!
    Elias

  10. 40
    Ryan Says:

“particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized”

This is the key portion of the Constitution that they violated. They wanted to have a look-see, without particularly describing the things to be seized.

All this “protect cops from the bad guys” talk is amazing. You’re willing to sacrifice innocent people in order to save those who are supposed to “serve and protect”? That thinking is backwards.

And finally, carrying firearms for the defense of self and others at this event is not disrespecting the dead. The victim died with a gun in his hands standing up to a threat to his family. Weapons are a part of life, not an affront to any but criminals who would see us disarmed.
