Reading Room Activism!
This letter is a call to all activists within our membership. As the Oath Keepers grew swiftly from April through December, 2009, a new outreach tool was introduced in January of 2010 – The Oath Keeper national monthly newspaper.
Printed on high-quality 40# paper in four-part full color, The Oath Keeper is the official newspaper for Oath Keepers.
When handed to patriots at gun shows, Oath Keepers meetings, Tea Party events, 9/12, End The Fed public rallies etc., this newspaper provides the best insider material for education about Oath Keepers. Readers learn about how various state chapters are accomplishing their mission of reaching, teaching, and inspiring peace officers, fire-fighters, EMTs, like-minded citizens, and soldiers to honor their Oath to the Constitution. This newspaper takes the reader much more deeply into the philosophy of freedom while also giving readers a sense of connection to our national officers, events, programs, and writings. The Oath Keeper features articles by liberty luminaries such as Chuck Baldwin, Ron Paul, Nelson Hultberg, Edwin Vieira, Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes, Sheriff Mack, Gary Marbut, Larry Pratt, Aaron Zelman, etc.
This newspaper is available to all activists through the US Mail, in flat-rate bulk boxes of 70+ papers. The price is only $50.00 per box, and the newspaper pays the shipping of $14.50 per box. A stack of these papers at your booth at a rally or a gun show should have a “donation” jar sitting right beside the papers – that way, your activist group or Oath Keepers State Chapter will be able to generate some money to help fund your activism. We print $3.00 on each paper’s cover, and you’re getting them for considerably less than a dollar each when you buy in bulk. Sell them, or give them away – but do try to budget a box or two each month for your outreach operations. Nothing spreads the word about Oath
Keepers better than this hard-copy newspaper.

I would like to emphasize the urgency of state chapters’ employment of this newspaper in their respective public activities and outreach programs. If you are an officer in any of our state chapters, please consider purchasing a box of newspapers each month to be included in your displays at your booths/tables at public events, rallies, gun shows, etc.
The bulk-shipping USPS flat-rate box of papers yields 70 or more copies of each month’s issue, with the retail price of $3.00 printed on each copy. Your cost is fifty dollars for a potential of $210.00 in generated cashflow for your state chapter.
Some state chapters are not selling the papers, per se, but are displaying them at public rallies on their tables/booths with a “Donations” jar sitting beside the papers. I’ve tried that myself here in Montana, and it works very well. It doesn’t take many donations to cover the cost of passing the papers out to the crowds at meetings and events. Some crowds will pay the three dollars per paper, some crowds won’t, but every crowd I’ve displayed to here has been happy to pitch some bucks into a Donations jar.
Some state chapters and some individual activists and some County chapters are purchasing more than one box per month, and some of those chapters/activists are literally giving the papers away at public functions. Others are providing the papers free of charge to our troops at military bases and to peace officers and to fire-fighters in their states/counties. While I recommend that the papers be sold at retail at public rallies or events, I am thrilled that some of our loyal supporters are paying for bulk boxes of papers and are getting them into the hands of our troops and peace officers and fire-fighters.
My message to all Oath Keepers activists and chapter officers is simple – this newspaper is the most thorough coverage of any of our printed outreach projects, but it is also an expensive project, costing several thousand dollars per month to print and distribute. Those of you who have the paper in hard-copy know that we print on quality paper in full color, which is expensive. The reason we use a superior, and more costly, type of paper is because we want to represent the quality inherent in the Oath Keepers mission. Another good reason why we pay more to produce this paper is that in its present format the monthly issues make good collectible records of the Oath Keepers movement – many members and subscribers do indeed collect the paper each month by having it mailed to their homes or offices. Some of our subscribers even subscribe for multiple copies to be mailed each month so that they can have extra copies to share with friends and neighbors, while collecting a full set for themselves.
However, as the publisher of this paper, I am calling for your support – everyone reading this. I need to sell more advertisements, and I need to sell more subscriptions. I also need to increase our bulk sales in order to keep the paper growing. So, any way in which you, the reader here, can see to help this newspaper project continue to grow and expand Oath Keepers’ outreach programs would be beneficial to the paper, and thusly to the Oath Keepers mission. Do you have a business which could afford a bit of advertising in a national newspaper? Can you click our “Donations” button and contribute that way? Everything which anyone does to support this newspaper is valuable to the paper’s operation. Your support is dearly appreciated.
Every purchase helps get the printed word out there to the American people and to our current-serving military, fire-fighter, and peace officer personnel. The paper is a valuable tool for our Veterans community, and to our “like-minded citizens” who stand in support of Oath Keepers. It is an important mission, and one I volunteered to handle as my contribution to the Oath Keepers mission.
As the publisher, I do not draw funding from our national Oath Keepers organization, so I am totally dependent upon your cooperation and your activism using this paper. State chapters can collect donations from their respective memberships in order to raise the purchase price for bulk shipments of the paper, and, as those who already are doing that may attest, the reward in terms of outreach are well worth it. Please consider adding regular monthly shipments of The Oath Keeper monthly national newspaper to your group’s outreach activities.
Thank you sincerely, on behalf of myself and our staff – all of whom are volunteers who believe in the impact this paper can have for the success of the Oath Keepers mission.
Salute!
