The need for Law Enforcement and the Military to support the people is critical
I have served in the Military, I serve as a volunteer Firefighter and as a Commissioned Police Officer, I find the direction the country is being taken by the government is a dangerous one. I’m also a Certified Instructor for the Concealed Handgun Permit.
People in general are growing more fearful, the number seeking permits is proof of that. The need for people to defend themselves in the coming times is imperative. The need for Law Enforcement and the Military to support the people is critical.

“…I find the direction the country is being taken by the government is a dangerous one.”
I agree with you!
But it started with former President Bush and his predecessors. George Bush took us into two wars – for what purpose I don’t know, signed the Constitutional wrecking Patriot Act, negated the Posse Comitatas Act, sent prisoners of war to foreign countries to be interrogated, confiscated guns from law abiding citizens in New Orleans, kept the borders wide open to the illegal invasion for eight years, oversaw an inadequate investigation of 911, ran up massive trade deficits ($800 billion his last year), ran up an operating deficit of $500 billion his last year, allowed the money supply to be inflated two to three trillion dollars under the tenure of Alan Greenspan (Does not the Federal Reserve have “any” accountability to the American people?), oversaw the growth of a more intrusive federal government, etc. And we didn’t get 15 to 30 million illegals into our country all in the last year and a half and set the stage for the takeover of the Southwest. President Barack Obama could well be worse, but George Bush set a very high mark. The lesser of two evils is not working anymore, if ever it did.
Government policies that are made by those we elect to office have gotten the USA into the mess that we are in. Our Constitutional Republic is being destroyed by these elected people, whether they be Republicans or Democrats. “Unless” we start electing those who “uphold and defend the Constitution” our county is going to continue to be a more dangerous place to live in peace and liberty.

Another paragraph to post no. 3:
Some more “thoughts:”
We elect politicians who are supportive of the right to keep and bear arms but who are destroying our Republic and constitutional form of government with their votes on other issues. Ultimately they will completely negate the Constitution, and the Second Amendment will go with it. Politicians, in my opinion, who only support the Second Amendment are not good enough: They must support the Constitution in its entirety, or we are ultimately toast. I see this problem as a life member of the NRA, a one issue organization. I am not necessarily agreeing or disagreeing with the NRA’s philosophy, but the bottom line is having just the Second Amendment won’t be good enough. I for one only vote for those individuals who are committed to upholding the Constitution in its entirety.

Cowboyguy, I am new here so I don’t know exactly what you are talking about. I have the same fears for our country, but we might have different reasons for concern. Please post or email me and explain specifically what your fears are. Thank you.
