Korean War veteran and 35 years as a policeman in Detroit
I’m doing this for my Father, who not only is a Korean War veteran but served for 35 years as a policeman in Detroit, MI! He is 82 years young, but doesn’t have a computer so that’s the reason why I’m doing this as a proud and grateful daughter! When he was 18 he was drafted into the Army and became a military policeman because he was a farmboy from the Thumb of Michigan who loved guns and could use them well.
After his Army service, he so loved the job that he moved from the Thumb to Detroit, and became a police officer. He served during the 1967 riots and was once pinned under a half-track vehicle by snipers who surrounded the area. A photo reporter captured the moment and was printed in the Detroit News and my dad, who wasn’t named but was recognized became semi-famous around the force!
He served in the Youth Bureau and Homicide and retired as a Sergeant in 1988 after 35 years! He’s a great conservative Republican who instilled in me at a very young age, 14, what politics were and what each party stood for!
I am definitely my Father’s daughter and turned into a very conservative political activist who’s participated in 9 Tea Parties and more to come in September 2010!
Please donate and support Oath Keepers mission, every little bit helps!

Just want to wish your dad the best and, hope he is doing well. I served with the DPD from 1975 to 2000 and have a good idea of all he did for that City. Ask him if he remembers Lt. Bill Wylie, AKA, Wylie Coyote. LOL Give him my best, Diana, Now in Dandridge, Tenn.
