I promise to uphold the oath and to spread the word

navy NUTS! I promise to uphold the oath and to spread the word! I am an ex-Navy Machinist Mate 2nd Class, and I have not set aside my Oath, nor shall I.

The times we are in will test our foundational beliefs and resolve. This website is an awesome way to spread the word and remind each other of our shared values, and our promise to defend the document which codifies our freedoms.

If you are interested, I have drafted an official petition for redress of grievances to the federal government, that I can send. The more that we can get to sign on, the better.

Welcome, Jeff.

You bring up a good point about how the Constitution codifies our freedoms. Some folks are under the misapprehension that the Constitution is the SOURCE of our liberty. Our Rights exist prior to and independent of the Constitution. The Constitution enumerates some of our Natural Rights into law, to protect them from infringement, but Natural Rights can neither be granted, nor abolished, by the whims of men.

I also agree with post no.1.

It is “my” FIRM belief that:
Liberty comes from the God of the Bible, the Lord Jesus Chirst, the creator of heaven and earth. Freedom definitely doesn’t come from any religion
–be it the Christian religion of any other religion.

As post no. 1 says, “…Natural Rights can neither be granted, nor abolished, by the whims of men.” Thomas Jefferson stated in the Declaration of Independence: “We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,…” We ALL have “certain unalienable Rights.”

Site Dedication

This site is dedicated to the memory of John William Adams (1925-2006), Marine and Oath Keeper extraordinaire.

John Adams, at the age of 16, lied about his age to join the Marines so he could fight against Imperial Japan in the Pacific. His enlistment date was December 10, 1941, just three days after the attack on Pearl Harbor (see below). As a Marine rifleman, he fought the Japanese from island to island, across the pacific, including at Iwo Jima. We may have good men, but we never had better.

Until his death in 2006, he was a dedicated patriot who still took his oath to defend the Republic deadly serious. May God grant you the courage to do likewise.

Founder Stewart Rhodes

He is a former firearms instructor and former member of Rep. Ron Paul’s DC staff.

Stewart previously wrote the monthly Enemy at the Gates column for S.W.A.T. Magazine

Stewart graduated from Yale Law School in 2004, where his paper “Solving the Puzzle of Enemy Combatant Status” won Yale’s Miller prize for best paper on the Bill of Rights. He assisted teaching U.S. military history at Yale, was a Yale Research Scholar, and is writing a book on the dangers of applying the laws of war to the American people.
