I hope this includes defending the constitution and not following the new law in AZ that make me an automatic suspect and asks me for papers.

“I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.”
Question: couldnt the pres and senate just change the UCMJ to pretty much whatever they want and by taking this oath we have to follow the orders?

Hey welcome to the group. Long live the Republic… Yes the Oath could be changed to whatever they wanted. I wonder how many people would raise their hands to defend their socialist/communist agenda.

…. both Foreign and Domestic….
In all seriousness, I am torn on this issue. I reside in Los Angeles and as such i have many friends of many different races and foreign origins. I even have known a few that are “Undocumented”. I am a firm believer that a man has a right to feed his family. A man has a right to build the best life he can for that family without fear whether it is from the residing government agencies or surrounding criminal elements. However as a Countryman and a Patriot, I feel that WE as AMERICANS also have a right to say who can and cannot live here. I am appalled at the audacity of these individuals DEMANDING that we let them stay (many of which are waving Mexican flags at the protests). This is not a new issue. This is an issue that dates back to the WWII era 1940’s. It has been an ongoing battle that is often overlooked by most Americans because it is going on “Down there by the Border”… but not anymore. We have illegal aliens living in every state of the Republic. Most are indeed honest hardworking people trying to build a better life. but there are also those who come from areas like Columbia, El Salvador, Puaraguay, Nicuaragua, etc.. and have a history with drug trafficking, kidnapping, human trafficking/prostitution and guerrilla warfare. These are not the sweet little Jualitas making tortillas and tamales; these are badass motherfuckers that would just as soon gut you as look at you.

….. getting the picture here? this isnt a common street gang, ITS AN OCCUPYING ARMY!! and this isnt a border concern anymore, these folks have kids in the same school as yours and shop at the same grocery stores as you and this is in every state… from California too Maine, from Florida too Alaska.
The fact is every “Green Card” carrying individual will tell you that they went through Hell and financial struggle to EARN that card (the lawyers and government fees involved are not cheap and when you are cleaning someones house or doing gardening work for minimum wage….). They will also tell you that they are required to carry it at all times (THIS IS ALREADY A FEDERAL LAW) Hell, even you and I am required to carry an ID with us in the form of a drivers liscense or picture ID ( and my family fought in the Revolutionary War and were in attendance at Yorktown when Lord Cornwallis surrendered) I cant get much more All-American than that… but I am open to suggestion. My point: I keep running into people who earned their “Proper” Documentation and many of them are saying that Amnesty is B.S. and unfair because it would disregard all of their sacrifices.
Granted, Immagration Policy needs to be reformed, but not done away with. Arizona is simply taking steps to enforce laws that while they have already been in place for decades; have often been ignored or improperely followed.
Go to the ICE website and you will see how many violent criminals that get arrested and deported, simply to turn around and come right back across the border with no respect for American laws simply to commit more violent crimes.

I do not believe that all illegals are like this. But I do feel that LOCAL law enforcement should be empowered to handle “Known” repeat offenders and drug traffickers.
On the other hand I feel that the “Illegal Search and Siezure” laws can also come under “abuse of power”… I feel this to be the real issue and the reason i am torn… the racial profiling crap is just that: Crap. the fact is Illegal aliens come in a wide variety of race and colors… and law enforcement simply does not have the time to screen every “Non-White” individual as the media would have you believe… and the fact is there are many illegal Argentinians, Russians, and Eastern Europeans here too AND THEY LOOK “Whiter” than I DO…so “racial profiling” is just a catchy media spin- and it is time to change the channel.
but back to illegal search and siezure: according to a recent radio broadcast i listened too, one of the original writers of the new law for Arizona stated that the individual police DO NOT have authorization to just grab folks at random and demand papers like a bunch of Nazi’s… they are still required to have probable cause. However they do have the right to detain those who cannot produce proper ID…. So what happens when you or I are caught driving down the road with no Drivers Liscense? WE GET DETAINED!!! so for an Illegal alien to have a drivers liscense means… wait a minute THEY DONT GET ISSUED DRIVERS LISCENSES!! thus they get detained and when they cannot then prove their rights to stay here… they get deported (which is why here in California, they tried to get a law passed allowing illegal aliens to have drivers liscenses).
SO Why is this a horrible thing? Well 1)some do have families that would be fractured and posibly left destitute, 2)some (Believe it or not) own homes and land here in the US, 3)some may have built lives and careers that have a history spanning decades with children already going off too college as first generation Americans…
I feel that these are all things to be taken into consideration before deportation is considered an option (if anything this is a good time to award merit toward those who have proven themselves good quality citizens), HOWEVER on the other hand if you are in this country for the sole purpose of illegal enterprise and have a history of said enterprises, well…. DONT LET THE DOOR HIT YOU IN THE ASS, BECAUSE WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DEAL WITH YOUR HARSHLY.
I also want to take this opportunity to say that I deeply appreciate all those Brothers and Sisters of all descents whether they are Hispanic, Asian, Polynesian, etc. who have seen fit to serve our flag over the years and to protect our country, and serve in our communities. As I have said before on this site; it is not an issue of what race or religion or creed you are,
it is about: Are you American or not?
I also want to point out that if there are those of you who have a friend or employee(s) who is struggling to get proper citizenship documentation; you can always help “Sponsor” them; there are many honest hardworking folks who deserve to be Americans and would be an asset to our country, but may lack the financial ability to pay for everything.
