I will be at the side of each and every one of you

vmfa134subd Over the last two years I had become completely disenfranchised with the direction our federal government had taken us. Confused, frustrated and desperately seeking answers on the internet, in newspapers and on television. All while questioning political allegiance and at times feeling hopeless in my search for truth. One day I ran across a blessing of an article that featured Oath Keepers. The picture had the sleeve of a GI with a simple patch that stated Oath Keeper. I stared at the picture for a few moments and smiled, a feeling of complete tranquility came over me. It was in that moment that I realized exactly what my Oath had meant and inside what I had known all along. It reminded me of my first generation which arrived here in 1710.

My forefathers fought in the battle of Oriskany, The battle of Jerseyfield and had spent years scouting Tory Indians. It also reminded me of the events of today, Our founders and my forefathers knew that men of principle and integrity would stand up today, bound by duty and our sacred honor.

In 1994 I swore my oath and served 5 years in the Marine Corps and like you I did it not for benefit but for a love of our way of life and our values. Today I am no longer in uniform yet work as a direct role defense contractor. Right alongside Marines and Sailors. I will continue to stand by my oath and by like minded patriots. So, until we restore this republic I will be at the side of each and every one of you. Thank you for creating this organization. I look forward to passing this inspiration on to my brothers and sisters in uniform and to my children.

I wish that Mr. Obama would remember his oath to the Constitution. He hasn’t since he took office.

Oath of Enlistment

I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

Site Dedication

This site is dedicated to the memory of John William Adams (1925-2006), Marine and Oath Keeper extraordinaire.

John Adams, at the age of 16, lied about his age to join the Marines so he could fight against Imperial Japan in the Pacific. His enlistment date was December 10, 1941, just three days after the attack on Pearl Harbor (see below). As a Marine rifleman, he fought the Japanese from island to island, across the pacific, including at Iwo Jima. We may have good men, but we never had better.

Until his death in 2006, he was a dedicated patriot who still took his oath to defend the Republic deadly serious. May God grant you the courage to do likewise.

Founder Stewart Rhodes

He is a former firearms instructor and former member of Rep. Ron Paul’s DC staff.

Stewart previously wrote the monthly Enemy at the Gates column for S.W.A.T. Magazine

Stewart graduated from Yale Law School in 2004, where his paper “Solving the Puzzle of Enemy Combatant Status” won Yale’s Miller prize for best paper on the Bill of Rights. He assisted teaching U.S. military history at Yale, was a Yale Research Scholar, and is writing a book on the dangers of applying the laws of war to the American people.
