I still get goose bumps when the Stars and Stripes come out and the anthem is played

ArmyLogoMy Grandfather served in the Navy in the Pacific during WW2, my Father and his 2 brothers served in the Air Force during Korea. I’d been taught from a young age that this was the greatest country on earth because of our Constitution and that it was worth fighting and dying to protect.

I had also been taught that a hand shake was a binding contract, make your yeses yes and your No’s no, there is right and wrong but no grey areas.

In 1989 I took my first oath in the Army to defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic, my first hand shake with the people. 5 years later I took it again as a Police Officer and each time I moved to a new department I re affirmed that oath. I will hold true to the first oath just as I hold true to it every time I repeat it.

I’m 44 years old, I still get goose bumps when the Stars and Stripes come out and the anthem is played, I remember all those who stood and held the line before me and those on the line today so I can have those goose bumps.

Thank you one and all. Stand for something or fall for everything, God bless you and may he bring you home soon.

I hear you loud and clear that is the way it is with me I get all choked up and teary eyed when
I listen to Lee Greenwood when he sings “Born in America”. I’ll gladly stand up for America. God
    bless you patriot brother.
